I was going all Brady Bunch and thinking JOHNNY BRAVO for his name.

Anyhow, while the main was enjoyable, shelton seemed a bit lost a few times, and his timing was off a little. But, I guess going from working 90% of your matches in a tag team to being on your own will take a bit getting used to.

Hopefully his push will continue and eventually he can main event a PPV.

Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.

You can't compare the 2 ratings. Spike is a cable station, while UPN is not, and thus the ratings criteria is a bit different for each. I believe SD gets more total viewers when compared to Raw. I could be wrong, but to compare the 2 ratings, you've got to multiply SD's rating by ~1.25 (or so) to get the Raw equivalent. So to say nobody is watching SD is ridiculous.

Also, what was up w/ Kane last night? It took him practically 5 minutes to amble over to the ring post to do that spot.

Good main, good use of most of the new talent. Except, of course, for poor, poor Tajiri. Here's hoping that they actually care enough about him to put his character on track in the coming weeks.

Oh, and as far as ratings are concerned, Smackdown actually does a little bit better than RAW as far as viewership is concerned. While RAW usually does a little bit better for ratings, around a 3.8 as opposed to Smackdown's 3.5, RAW's rating is in cable rating points, as opposed to Smackdown's network rating points. What's the difference, you ask? A cable rating is only about 80% of a network point. So RAW's adjusted rating is about a 3.0 to Smackdown's 3.5. I don't know why cable ratings are worth less than a network's, but there you go.

Less people subscribe to cable, whereas everyone has access to an antenna for network television. Thus, 3 percent of a national broadcast network is 3 percent of a greater audience.

So, I'm wondering if there is some kind of wierd effect where switching shows last week Automatically switches one's face/heel alignment - Tajiri & Benjamin are now faces, and maybe Rhyno, too, if that was actually supposed to be a Lance Storm heel turn. Booker and the Dudleys are shading heelwards. Teddy Long might be a face if he hooks up w/ Rikishi and Scotty, playa...

But I guess Nidia is the exception. I agree with whoever gave props to her suplex into a cradle. Whoever has helped Nidia w/ her forearm strikes needs to get together w/ RVD, stat. Very nice! Also, Molly's 360 armwrench thingy down to the canvas looked really crisp.

Heel Trish = Jackie from that 70's show, and I like it. She just needs to cut down on the "you know what?"'s. Next week we need Xtian to have a "Peep Show" segment, and the stip on the match at Backlash can be Peep Show vs. Hilite Reel.

Re: Edge - While it would be great for Hardy or Rhyno to take credit for putting him on the shelf, I fear that the A-train trade was just to set things up so HE can claim to be the one who put Edge out. Wasn't that the original plan, anyhow? Edge vs. Kane doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything, or the potential to help either wrestler a great deal.

Appropos of nothing, I think Cade needs to become an MF'er.

All in all, great show. The first one that's motivated me to comment on it in a long time.

I'll be honest, outside of the main event, I didn't see too much of value on Raw last night, since I saw about half of it on tape. The Highlight Reel was okay. Maybe it's just me, but seeing heel Trish really was kind of awkward. However, I was still mourning the loss of the World's Greatest Tag Team, when I saw Shelton and HHH. Good stuff.

I haven't seen a WWE crowd so into a mat-based match since....the Kurt-Benoit days. Unfortunately, my tape cut out at the end, so I didn't see the roll up. Once again, HHH is being a good boy, and I appreciate him for that. Lord knows YOUR compliments for him won't last, but that's another story. All this fellatiating of HHH by JR and King and Bischoff is all well and good (to the point of nausea on my end), but let's unqueer that hair of yours, Hunter. More waves in that bad boy than at the shore.

Honestly, outside of anything involving Evolution and Shelton Benjamin, Raw was pretty bland to me. The lesson here: If you want to see The Game fellatiated right, call ME.

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)Ain't nothing like a Dirty Pair marathon on New Year's Eve.
2)I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.
3) I'd make an acceptable Mrs. Orton.

-Foley/Evolution interview- Evolution comes out without HHH but don't worry he'll be here says Flair(whew thank you Ric you put my mind at ease). Flair is his usual greatness on the mic, I might be in the minority but I found a certain enjoyment of Greenbean Orton having to get his tonsils out. A macho self-indulgent guy wanting sympathy for an illness that usually hits kids is somewhat funny. Foley comes out and asks and gets a match with no rules but right before he makes sure he gets rules of No Evolution. Does it still stand?

-Nidia vs. Molly- I thought this was a solid effort, both seemed to work hard. Nidia bumped well hitting the ring post hard, also hitting a nice Northern Suplex. Molly once again shows how fundamentally sound as she controlled the match. The match was a little telegraph but understandable that they only had one weekend to work with eachother. Molly loses as the wig is pulled off and Nidia gets a distracted Molly down for the 3count... So are they actually going to do anything with this shaved head gimmick or is it just a substitution for granny panties distraction.

-HHH interview- As Hurricane walks out HHH attacks him and throws him into the entrance stage screen. I just love how HHH can do his entire interview as Hurricane goes backstage with his tail between his legs haha. HHH reminds us that it takes 3 guys to replace one HHH and how Kurt was scared of him. They make a Wrestlemania rematch as a 3way for the title. This Time for the Final Time! Serious, Final Final time. No doubt, Wrestlemania was set up as a major issue settlement but this time is Final, we mean it. Serious... Honestly when was the last time HHH was in a PPV and not involved in a match where the World title was concerned. It has to be way back in the summer of 2002.

-Rhyno vs. Storm- Lance just figured his dancing happy Val friend gimmick sucks (I called it ages ago Lance, Read my posts!). Rhyno comes out and totally squashes Lance in 30 seconds... OOOOO-KAY, did Rhyno turn face, wasn't he just heel last week? What happened just here. Storm babyface run actually did well for like a week when he teamed with RVD.

-Batista/Flair vs. HBK/Benoit- Somethings happening, Lillian is hanging around(I'm certainly not complaining, more TV time please, don't know how I just want!). Special Ref Johnny Spade no it's Nitro HA. Nitro has some certain charisma that catches my eye. GLJ, I think Nitro poor ref job really worked, he's not a real ref so him being incompetent, being more interested in watching the action & playing with his hair then actually delivering a count & missing little things even by accident really works... I loved this match up to the Finish. They were all working so great and really hard. Flair is out of control at times but he's so entertaining in there, the Flair flop was hilarious & Benoit added a little headbop as Flair staggers Ha. HBK flopping in the ring like he's having a seizure taunting Nitro sell of the crossface was funny, his show of respect to Benoit handing him the title was nice

-Hilight Reel- In name only as this was pretty much the lowlight of the show. Trish mocks Y2J with a pose then saying he can't touch her. Trish tries her best but with material like "You weren't there when a man beat me up so later me and my assaulter hooked up to get back at you" (what a storyline, considering the Austin allegations this is certainly a good thing to portray)... Can Y2J bring good out of this horrible angle, will WM change Y2J to a more mature, serious, aggressive character. Of course not, that would go against WWE: Time Machine Era. In jumps Y2J & for once his nickname makes sense as it's the Year Y2K repeat character. Hitting the grade school insults as she does her Stephy "How Dare you" face. Speaking of Steph, amazing how every healthy looking woman in the WWE gets called Fat & now Pig well except for Miss Steph(she big boned). These characters & story just gets worse & worse. Pathetic stuff.

-Tajiri vs. Kane- Bonus points for Tajiri for the best facial expressions in The E. Tajiri got alot more offense in Kane then I expected. You can't put the tarantula on a guy that size. That was one slow motion bump into the ring post by Kane... Hitting the green mist for a countout win was a surprise, especially considering it's No DQ(Makes as much sense as No interference in a no DQ match) Kane attacking him afterwards wasn't(Run away Tajiri). Edge runs in and hits a Spear! Is he silent guy once again?

-Benjamin vs. HHH- Triple H heelness heat is really picking up nicely, he's getting you tapped out chants and give Shelton chant as Benjamin returned the little light slap to HHH as HHH sold the "You Didn't!!". HHH for the pedigree as Benjamin slips out as HHK says he's this close to doing the JOB. Dragonwhip kick by Benjamin awesome, great move... Ads & we are back & the match slows a little as they trade mat holds. HHH holds a sleeper as Benjamin runs to the top buckle as H goes face first to the top turnbuckle(as Benjamin hits the second turnbuckle). Nice flying clothesline from the apron by Benjamin & then from the top rope. H distracted at the corner & a Benjy splash & a WIN!. This WASN'T a "fluke" with a bunch of circumstances win. Shelton actually looked like an equal. Great work HHH & Shelton. Oh BTW, Flair once AGAIN awesome outside as pure evil heel manager sneaking around.

-OtherSuff- Tajiri was very much gold backstage, him spewing mist in Coach's face as Coach totally oversells it as they stay on him screaming & selling way longer then usual Haha La Rez telling him that's Bischoff's Boy and he's in trouble LoL... Then Tajiri practicing his apology while walking to the principal err I mean GM office as Coach squeals on him as Tajiri tries to defend himself Nooo noooo liaaar...

Speaking of GM office, Johnny Spade/Nitro just has this charm to him that I love seeing on my screen. Him calling Bischoff Dude and E.B and putting on lip gloss, this guy is classic! Good grief he's in my top 5 list of Raw already I think... Benjamin gets beaten up by HHH... Benjamin goes to E.B office and oh great the Scum decided to make an appearance with Bischoff and Benjamin. The scum talks about being a man or something(whatever)... Benoit, Hurricane and Foley all give Benjamin some encouragement... Why are they showing Smackdown clips?

-Line of the Night: Ross "I think his middle name is Monday"
-Sign of the Night: "HHH that damn bad" - ooooh LoL
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Flair. 2)HBK 3)HHH. - Pretty much anyone in the main event and Tag title match including ref. Plus Tajiri all are major consideration for stars

Raw was really good. The Tag title match was MOTN for me, so well done & worked except the finish. Did I say enough how much I luv Johnny Nitro. Backstage segments worked all really well. Women match was good. HHH promo was err but he made up for it in his match, Great job in stepping up HHH. Benjamin worked well too... What didn't work & must agree with Sangre, the respect I'm growing in H, I'm losing with Y2J. One thing I will give H, he never went back to DX-H, he Grew Up, he Evolved. Something Y2J seems to have no clue what to do as he reverted to his junior high insults. You'd think he'd have more imagination, you'd think he'd want to mature, maybe Y2J is too much of a sissy to do that. He's been in wrestling for so long time & acting like a smartass rookie still. Y2J is the Peter Pan of wrestling. Then again he's still connecting his name to the Y2K hype of 4 plus years ago, maybe he's not as talented I thought he was.

Oh my, NHS has some issues with the Trish Stratuss stuff again! I not be personal but you seem bitter by it all, did Y2J do something to you. HiLitee reel sounds good to me. Y2J deserves to stick it to that bitchy woman. He was dumped and she is being a real bad lady hypocrite, so he has every right to get face pops for himself by it all. He needs something to get face cheer after that faltering story he was in.

And lovey man Y2J with Trish as a soppy guy would have been crappy and just the worst. Time machine WWE? Grow up yourself and enjoy the show for a change. Me guess you want Trish to be happy little babygirl? Most poster people here loved that bit and liked new old Y2J. Give it a chance. Trish Stratuss never changed for like 3 years as a WWE person so why can't Y2J resort back for one night to something he was successsful with. He can't copy HHH or anyone else so what way would you like to se him act, like Edge is? Two faces the same not work for me. Rock does it everytime he appears, but that with Lillian so you not complain I bett. It was only one week Y2J said it so far. He only said it a few times to Steph. But yes the big bonned WWE women are the sexy ones, I agree there.

Is that Flair flop thingy the stick one leg out one way and fall over routine. I love that if that is what it is. I have to watch for it Friday.

Good man HHH in jobbing to the Shelton. I hope HHH keeps up his new guy promoting role.

Lillian did that incred-whatever word was used beofre with Randy one time when he got her to say his name again. She probably got it messed up man again. And if Nitro guy changes names how will she keep up she struggles with Benoit & Jericho. But she is hott. Voice a bit Steph annoying at times though.

I hope Rhyno gets buried. Edge is over-hyped, please let Kane beat him. Foley must wipe the ring matts with Orton this time. No Christian is a no-no though for me man. He was really good lately in RAW. Kane needs to do something else da Taker curse continue man.

You guys seem to have liked this RAW and you usually are right the majority of you. I like reading these rewrittens of RAW every week before I get to see the shows.

Quick thoughts:
1) Main Event - awesome! I started out not buying the near falls thinking "yeah but here comes the Pedigree" & then the end TOTALLY surprised me! Great job by HHH & Benjamin.
2) Jericho - hilarious. Good to see him back. Just hope they keep the Highlight Reel going. He can have Christian, Kane, Coach, etc. & it will give him loads of material.
3) Flair is still the man! When he turned around & gave the evil grin to the crowd when HHH was dominating was priceless! Plus love how the Flair Flop & the turnbuckle spot get standing O's when he does them now.
4) Nidia looked pretty damn good. Nice Northern Lights with a bridge.
5) Tajiri/Coach was funny. Tajiri definitely could find a spot on the show. Kind of reminds me of his days with Invasion Austin & Regal.
6) Shawn Michaels buddying up to Benoit - I don't know about the rest of you, but I smell a heel turn at Backlash!
7) Foley/Orton match - agree with others here that a no DQ match with Evolution banned makes NO sense, even for wrestling.
8) Johnny Nitro - playing his role just right. The chapstick was funny as shit.
9)Agree with another poster, Storm/Mattitude would be a great team!
10) Is Kane getting ready to be a jobber?

Jonny Syn! Jonny Greed! Jonny Starr(cade)! Hey, I like that.

My favorite little bit of the show (outside of the ME) was the interplay between JR and King during the Hi-Lite reel segment:

JR: She's a JEZEBEL!
King: Okay, I gotta ask-what exactly IS a jezebel?
JR: It's an evil woman. She's an evil, two-tongued woman.
King: Evil? How can she be evil if she's got two tongues?

Sometimes, it's the little things...

This is a little off topic, but I don't want to start a thread.

Why do they keep showing WMXIX footage for everything? The Backlash commercial shows all XIX footage, no XX. Kinda strange. It also showed Goldberg so I guess they might have filmed it before XX, but their editing team can put up a 30 second spot in no time.

They have shown WMXIX footage a TON over the last year, moreso than I remember in previous years. Am I just hallucinating or does the editing team just really love Safeco field?

Yeah, knowing Ric Flair out would be cool, almost as cool as knocking him out...but I digress, I loved the show last night. The main was awsome, really established that Shelton has the potential to be a player on Raw. And I would much rather watch Kane fued with Edge than another match with the TerryFunkertaker!

First off, let me just say Happy Birthday to ME!

Now that that's out of the way...

Random Raw Thoughts:

- I wanted to watch the Nidia vs. Molly match, I really did. But I couldn't, because I kept getting distracted by Nidia's HUGE CHEST.

- Skinhead Molly = HOT HOT HOT

- Why was Edge & Christian's theme dubbed over Edge's Rob Zombie theme in the recap to last week?

- I think the real reason Trish dumped Jericho is because she saw Fozzy's YJStinger commercial with all the scantily clad women poledancing.

- Triple H saw everyone laughing at him when it was announced he was drafted? I hope so, seeing as he was in the same room.

- Since when is Raw the #1 rated show?

- If Bischoff traded the entire locker room to get Triple H back, who would he wrestle against?

- The final encounter between Triple H and HBK... again... again...

- Did Carrot Top sign a Mark Henry-esqe contract of doom?

- I loved the way Storm did a backwards somersault after taking the Gore.

- Is WWE finished with the whole pushing Kane thing?

- Was HBK wearing ANOTHER new t-shirt?

- Wait, Johnny Cage now wants to be known as WCW Monday Nitro?

- I'm not drinking anything called X-Factor. It might turn me into a small annoying man who's always late and finds Joanie Laurer attractive.

- Didn't they just say Flair wasn't the legal man? Why is the ref counting Flair's pin attempt!?

- From the people who brought you Blue Man Kane comes Green Man Kane!

- So Kane is outside of the ring for 4 seconds after being sprayed with an illegal substance, and he gets counted out?

- How long's it been since Triple H got a new entrance video?

first off, I have to give kudos to Shelton. Before last night, i never really had any intrest in him. He put on a hell of a show last night with trips...

It just goes to show you, like JR has been shoving down our throats, you dont need high spots to put on a great match.

There was a lot of mat wrestling and sleeper holds and arm drags, but a story was being told and the result was a good match.

The one fault with the match i saw, or heard, was the fact that (like alot of his matches), I could here Trips calling the match. JR tryed to cover for him at one point by stating that he was "talking trash"...

pretty good show overall.
