If anyone out there is a web designer in their spare time (I'll settle for if you are paid to do it but want to work for free) I'm considering altering the look of this site considerably in the near term.
Suggestions will be accepted for layout changes in each and every section of the site.
Color themes will also be considered.
Time to shake things up a little.
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
But change is NEVER good... why can't anything ever just stay the way they are.

Not possible, but it'd be nice for anyone registering to have to have their posts approved by a Moderator, so that we don't get a huge influx of crappy threads and posts.

If they, well CRZ being bored, write some php code for a page where we all could pick colors in hex, then it would be possible to have custom colors.
What kind of work will the Zims need ot do for that?
New tables & a page for selecting the colors.
Each element, like what color the table lines are and the scroll bars, will need their own table. Primary key for the u_id and all the data would be in hex. Just a note, a nice little popup java box for point and click color selection would be awesome. I can get you code for that if you need it Zims.
The Zims already have different CSS pages for different schemes, they'll just have to setup new ones from scratch for the new layout.
Goto www.w3.org/style/css for all your CSS needs, but you all probably knew that already.
I still think that we should be able to customize which forums are displayed on our main page after login. Also, it would be nice to mish mash forums. Why look at each sports forum individually when you could view them all at once?
What kind of experience are you looking for in your coders? Just HTML/CSS, or are you looking for more fiddling with the java and php?
I guess ideally every user should be able to customize every aspect of the main page, from what forums are displayed to which links are displayed (for example, if I want to see all my posts without having to go through my profile, why can't I?) This could get crazy, which is why this is ideally, and not a *real* suggestion.
I agree with Freeway that it may be time to have someone review all the newbie posts. Maybe its because I spend more time in the Banished folder than I do Wrestling, but I get the impression that everyone who has joined the board of late has done so with the intent of irritating the regulars.

This is on the list of long-term projects.

I've always meant to solicit skin definitions, but never gotten around to it.
3. Don't yell at me for suggesting things that are impossible
I don't yell all THAT much.

There's actually some acmlm code for something like this I keep meaning to "borrow" but I never get around to it.

Hmmmm.

I don't think I would want to give the moderators that kind of burden.
For the record, I have no direct knowledge of what Guru plans to change, but it's probably a wonderful idea.

Kind of along the lines of EddieBurkett's mishmash thought is the way DVDVR has a "Most Active Posts" link. That way you can just look at the most recently posted in threads. It's a handy way to get a pulse of the board without reading every thread.
This place has great features already so new ones will be way cool. Like referrals page, ignores, votes and flags. I like the advisories people have as well like on the main board and in those bits at the bottom of some peoples messages. If I think of any good ideas to add I reply with them later.
And don't make Moderating people have to aprrove all messages - its too much arguements.
I think someone mentioned this before, but a sort of waiting period after registration would probably do wonders for the content in the wrestling forum.

A thing that I really appreciate, & would be quite saddened to lose: The board right now is very lightweight, fast, & plays happily on the most archaic browser configurations & pathetic modem connections. All of which makes it a very comfortable place.
(Just thought I'd mention that, in among the zeal of newness. :-) )
As long as we're asking for stuff, here's something I'd like to ask:
On OSX Mail (and possibly other email programs, I don't know), you can highlight text from an email, hit Reply, and the text is automatically in your reply email. It would be VERY cool if you could do that here with posts. Is there any way to implement that? Is it even technically possible?

I'm all for change, as long as it's actually an improvment. And new color layouts would rock.
HHH: You two had better stop your ambiguiously gay excersions before I kick you happy asses out of Evolution, damn it! (H yelling at Ric & Randy from 'God Knows', http://www.fanfiction.net/.) ~~*~~*~~ Be good, Vince. Don't be dumb.

Agreed. Mine Recommendations:
1. Retain some form of text only "dial up mode" Helps those at the end of long thin wires and is more work friendly. 2. Cooling off period for newbs. Can post from the get go but can't start a new thread for X days? maybe people with a rating of < 1.0 can't start new threads. 3. Automated smilie set-up similar to pHpBB 4. Being a self assessed fiddler, any form of customisation and statistics are good

After only two very brief posts, I'm sold on the CKEditor. I'll use it now every time instead of the default. Nice job, gentlemen.(Edit: Although it would be nice if we could go back and edit our thread titles, or at the very least add a logo....
