"You guys don't get it. We don't really want ECW back because it was the end all be all of wrestling. Having even a bastardized version of ECW solidifies in our minds that ECW was worth a damn during its existence. It means that the legacy of the ECW philosophy was important enough to warrant inclusion in 2004.

It's more about pride in the ECW product than the wish for a revival of the epic Da Baldies/New Jack feud. So how about you let us that have been to the "Bingo Hall" have our moment in the sun? Is that too much to ask?"

Yes, mainly because it won't be anything LIKE ECW, it will sap talent away from the two rosters, which are already struggling, and it'll probably be treated like a fifth-rate promotion from the start. If the fed wanted to pay respect to ECW, then they could release it's back catalogue on DVD. Hell, they ALREADY injected them into the Invasion, and seeing as WCW is no longer whispered about on TV, why should ECW be any different?

Again, it is about the revival of ECW as a notion and a concept worth attempting rather than the actual execution of said federation. There is so much talent on Raw and SD that I don't have a problem with getting certain guys "lost in the shuffle" out of there and giving them a fresher start.

And with the earlier announcement of WWE 24/7, there is even more of a chance that Vince will treat ECW differently than last time. We may get the chance to see ECW shows on their new service. If Vince wants this ECW to convince fans of the former ECW, he might just treat this incarnation with more respect than last time.

But that's neither here nor there. I will withhold judgement until...gasp...I actually see this new ECW before I slam it as a "fifth-rate promotion."

*I am not an ECW mark or anything, infact I've probably only seen about 3 hours total of ECW ever. This is just my logical arguement for the third brand to be created.*

How many times have people said they think Wrestler X and Wrestler Y are being misused and being stuck on Velocity/Heat? I'd say the rosters aren't struggling in terms of numbers, but in terms of storylines for these wrestlers to be involved with. There are plenty of wrestlers to go around, especially if the two B shows were to be cut, and those "jobbers" got to mix it up on the A shows. Take out whatever sized chunk of talent needed and bring them to whatever night ECW-WWE would be on, and fill in the gaps with all of those talented guys who haven't be able to show their stuff off on the A shows. If WWE is interested in attracting more casual fans, then the answer would be to put a greater emphasis on strong storyline based shows, not throw-away shows like Velocity and Heat where all that is shown is recaps and matches with no backstory. Casual fans don't give a crap about that, and the hardcore fans who actually do watch these shows will be more than happy to give them up if the wrestlers they watch on the shows are used on Raw or SD or a third brand show and actually given meaningful storylines.

The combined rosters of the two A shows and the two B shows could EASILY be changed into the rosters of three A shows.

The alleged timeslot of 10pm on Saturdays, however, will be the killer. Nobody wants to watch TV on a Saturday night. Make it Sunday night anywhere from 7 till 11, and maybe you've got yourself a winner. But if not, 3 shows that mean something is sure as hell better than two shows that mean something and 2 shows that are just filler.

David Spade teaches us an Important Lesson:

Joe Dirt: So you're gonna tell me that you don't have no black cats, no roman candles, or screaming mimis?
Kicking Wing: No.
Joe Dirt: Oh come on man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
Joe Dirt: Yer gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?
Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.
Joe Dirt: Well that might be your problem, it's not what you like, it's the consumer.

Do you really believe they will sign New Jack and let him jump off the stage every show?

This really isn't a good move, rating and business wise. ECW went bankrupt because people STOPPED watching it and found new stuff to entertain them, wrestling wise. It's not as though there's a huge audience salivating at the prospect of seeing it return from it's own ashes, and even if there WERE, you have to wonder why your hardcore ECW smarkymcsmartmarks would watch a WWE-santized version of it when ECW fans prided themselves on watching a program that was an alternative to Vince's circus in the first place.

There's no question Van Dam, Dreamer, and Spike would all benefit from a return to their hardcore roots, but it's only nostalgia, not the edgy bad-ass product people remember ECW for.

ECW was filling every arena they played in up until the end. It wasn't about fans turning away. The problem, and it is a problem the plagues every startup and is the reason why NWATNA is only PPV, is that there was no advertising stream for TV. The whole show was shills for ECW products. There were no large scale advertisers backing the program. You have to pay for the TV time with the networks up from and then sell advertising. That was a HUGE cash drain on the company.

In addition, when you hold a PPV you have to pay the talent on the spot and foot the costs of holding and promotion even though you will not see the revenues from the PPV companies for 9 months to a year after the shows.

Given the fact that the wrestlers make 2-3X what they made in ECW your revenues would have to be significantly higher in order to make money. They would be better served to internally make an effort at writing better storylines for Velocity/Heat.

To Torchslasher:

"It's more about pride in the ECW product than the wish for a revival of the epic Da Baldies/New Jack feud. So how about you let us that have been to the "Bingo Hall" have our moment in the sun? Is that too much to ask? "

That is why we should leave it alone. It will never be that good. You can't recapture the magic that was the Bingo Hall even though it was a s***hole.

Starts a "Bait n' Switch, bait n' switch" chant.

I was looking forward to HHH on Smackdown. I know I've had my problems with him(like 98% of us) but he has major star power and used CORRECTLY he could have really helped the SD brand. Seeing him come out on Raw with a blue shirt I thought "This could be cool". The problem with HHH is he was getting really repetitive and putting him on SD would have really freshened him up and also give a boost to the SD show... I think a Cean-HHH feud would have been great. Mr. Serious Professional HHH vs. Punk brat thug that is Cena. Cena talking about how he tapped HHH's wife's ass (which he did) and how he picked out HHH ball (which he did!)

Smackdown has Eddie, Cena, Undertaker and now RVD as it's faces. While you have Big Show and maybe Booker T as counteract that... HHH would fit very nicely there I think, it would also put a nice wrench in the Evolution-mobile that would be interesting to see how they would do.

As for heels on Raw, this is going to sound crazy how about turn Jericho back heel. Some were surprised he didn't attack Christian or Trish last week maybe Jericho is angry but angry with himself and says that at Wrestlemania Christian and Trish knocked some sense into him and now he's totally focus. It would be kinda of an unorthodox turn but then again has anything in this angle been common place.. Faze out the who's sleepin' with who stuff and go with three heels causing trouble for all, I think that would be fun. But now Evolution is all in tact I doubt it will happen now.

Test and Albert back on the same show, Trish's magical 2000 time machine trip is in full effect. Well thank goodness she's still on the show where the women division is... Nidia in the women division could work. It's really hard to say how she is as a wrestler being in SD and all but she always impressed me more then who she was in there with. She seems to bump pretty well. Her new bustline seems a little absurd, but I won't hold it against her if it doesn't effect what she can do. One thing she does add is the reassurance that Raw has visually the most diverse group of women in wrestling history and maybe in television today. Look at the women on Raw, there all very different so that's a big plus.

I like Spike in the cruiser division, one thing I thought was lacking is characters and personality in the cruiser division. I've always had a soft spot for Spike because there are so few "nice guy" character in wrestling right now, so it's nice to see a character like Spike who I find alot more relatable and interesting then most WWE stars. When he's not getting squashed I seen him garner nice crowd support, like I said he brings some character to a division that after Rey Mysterio and Chavo is really lacking... Speaking of lacking division I can't understand the forced split of the Worlds Greatest Tag Team. If they are going to have tag divisions, why split the one team that had identity and charisma together, I don't get it. Booker and RVD on the same show, is that the return of the worse remix song in history.

There's one trade I'm really not agreeing with right now, and that's Rico and Jackie to Smackdown. With the FCC in such an uproar as it is right now, their acts are going to be toned down severely. Don't expect to see Jackie's nipple pop out again.

Me thinks it's time for another Rico repackaging.

The only time her nipple was actually visible on Raw was as a result of a legitimate accident. Being on a taped show, that's not going to happen. I don't see how anything in Rico's act will have to be toned down at all, unless the FCC is waging a war against homosexuality on television, and I don't even think the US government is stupid enough to try something like that.

I've never heard them chant W-W-E either, but Vince keeps running out programming under that banner.
If they bring back ECW, it will be such a sanitized version that the ECW fans will shit on it within 2 weeks. The purpose of ECW was as an anti-establishments organization. When it falls under the McMahon umbrella, it really can't be anti-establishment anymore. That, and without Rollerjam and Rock 'n Bowl on TNN/Spike anymore, there goes half of the material involving the last year of ECW.

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.
