To the 'Canes: A fourth round pick which could become a third under certain circumstances
To the Leafs: Tom Barrasso 13-12-5, 2.61 GAA, .906 Save Percentage
This is a very good trade for the Leafs. Even though Barrasso is 36 (37 on March 31st), he provides the Leafs with a much stronger backup than Corey Schwab in case Cujo reinjures his hand or it does not heal as fast as expected.
You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling towards you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over. But it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.
Yeah, that's all Carolina got... Though that could turn into a 3rd round draft pick if something or other happens. I'm not sure what caused it to be bumped up.
I guess Jim Rutherford made a decision to stick with one goalie rather than rotate like musical chairs. Very ballsy, and I'm not sure I agree with it. But if he has confidence in Irbe - I'll back that.
The Leafs are gonna have an awesome combo going into the playoffs.

Plus the Canes picked up Kevin Weekes last week...not a bad combo there.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
