Yeah, we've got to get people on TV from tiny-ass schools that haven't won since the New Deal just so we won't have to hear about where they're from anymore. Enough already.

Hey, I'll do it, i'm from Virginia College, we don't even HAVE a basketball team.

Not necessarily small schools, just ones that produce on-air talent that is credible :)

While still trying to figure out how I'm tied for first after the first night of the Sweet 16 despite losing my National Champion in Round 1:

I immensely dislike UCONN. But, unless Okafor's back goes out, I can't see anyone stopping them at this point. Its almost Vegas '91 like how they are rolling through this Tourney. And yes, I know what happened to Vegas in '91. Of course, when the highest seed you'll play in a Region is a 6, perhaps that can explain some of the reason for the methodical roll.

I've been on the Anti-Duke bandwagon since mid-January, and I think tonight is the night that Reddick gets exposed as a defensive liability and the Illini guards run them off the court.

If UAB wins tonite, has anyone pondered what impact on the universe only 2 games separating Alabama teams playing for the National Title in Basketball would have?

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.

redsoxnation...you're Phoenix bracket is awe inspiring...I thought I was the only one smart enough to put Bama in the Elite 8! Sorry the one you missed just happened to be MY DORES. You're almost PERFECT Phoenix bracket is why you're leading. Kudos.

From what I can tell in, RSN, we both have a pretty much equal chance to come out on top of this thing.

Best of luck, amigo.

And if I lose, I'm driving to MASS and kicking your ASS. (inspired by John Cena)

It really goes back to the committee. They set the brackets up this year so that NOBODY had an easy ride. Every team playing has had to earn their spot but the upsets made some roads a bit easier.

The really pathetic part about my Alabama pick: In this pool and another where I picked Providence, I had Bama in the Elite 8. In another pool where I was covering myself in case Tim Welsh proved yet again that he rides the little yellow bus in big games, I had S. Illinois knocking out Bama in Round 1, so even though I have all 4 Final Four teams alive, I screwed myself out of points.
As for Vandy, they were another team I covered myself with in different pools, but I had N.C. State beating them anyway (gee, you think I had confidence 10 up and under 3 to go Sunday?). And Wake going zone for a few minutes and giving up the hail of 3's really didn't help me much either. You don't zone a team that only shoots 3's, especially when you're leaving the middle wide open to penetrate and dish.

Oh yeah! It's gonna happen, all Alabama National Championship game! If that happens I'm going to San Antonio, I don't care if I have to mug somebody and steal their tickets.

I actually had ALabama going to the Elite Eight, so I'm not real surprised. I did have them losing to UConn in my bracket though. I think that was the only bracket that I picked the two finalists. UAB suprised me though, I new they were good, and though coming in the were going to do some damage, then I saw they were matched with Kentucky in the second round and I thought no way. Anybody know where I can find a video of that behind the head pass by the Taylors? That was sweet.

EXACTLY...that was just a BAFFLING move on WF's part. A 2-3 zone against the best backcourt in the nation??? Just my luck, I had them in the Final Four...

oh and Quezzy...any rumors down that way about possible defections for the Gators in the off-season?? Andy Katz says Roberson could possible test the NBA waters, but I honestly don't put a lot of stock into what he says...

Not Quezzy, but....

I read on a UK message board that Roberson had told Billy a month or so ago that he would go to the NBA. The only reason I gave it any validity is that the guy who posted this has some sort of sources, and his ego is big enough that he's not going to post a lie just to post something.

Geez...and they said the SEC was down THIS year. We're losing a TON of talent. If I had to guess on a preseason all-sec team next year...

Kennedy Winston
Winsome Frazier
Scooter McFagdon
Chuck Hayes
Matt Walsh

This is assuming Roberts and Roberson go to the draft...That's a decent 5 players, but after that, the talent level seems to really fall off.

I think Al Jefferson could be a freshman All-SEC type player at Arkansas if he forgoes the draft.

If anyone was surprised by St. Joes winning they are nuts. Even though the first half of the game wasn't easy for the Hawks, Wake Forest underestimated St. Joes or SOMETHING because COME ON, you don't leave a guy wide open for a three THAT often. GEEZ!

If the Blazers don't make the playoffs I will be the sadest one of them all for the next 21 years.

I'd also give Kelenna Azubuike a shot here, AND the 'Cats will be have the debut of junior point guard Patrick Sparks (he transferred from Western Kentucky). I would expect that trio to earn some sort of All-SEC honors next year (Chuck first team and POY candidate; Sparks and Azubuike second or third team).

From the Amazing Salami:

I think Al Jefferson could be a freshman All-SEC type player at Arkansas if he forgoes the draft.
***********************************************************

UK also has verbals from 2 McDonalds AAs and "those in the know" claim that the 'Cats in the hunt for a 3rd (6'10" big man Randolph Morris). The 2 verbals are both guards (PG Rajon Rondo and SG Joe Crawford). UK's freshman guards will have the opportunity to earn serious minutes next year, so it wouldn't surprise me if one of them made All-SEC.

And, I know ... UK, UK, UK, ..... I'm still in mourning and it helps ease the pain for me to "talk" about the good things we have to look forward to.

Oh, and Roll Tide Roll.

All I've heard is that Roberson has been thinking about even before the SEC tournament. David Lee says he'll also think about it but hasn't thought about it much yet as he's still trying to get over the end of the season.

So nothing definite, but I think it sounds like Roberson probably is gone since he's been thinking about it so long. Since Lee decided to wait to the think about maybe he's more committed to the team.

To be honest, i'm so frustrated with the team that I don't care if either comes back, even if Roberson was the most consistent player we had.

Great night for games so far. Xavier is in the Elite eight. I thought Kansas would have a much tougher time with UAB, It would be ironic if the Jayhawks won the year Roy left. Probably wont happen but I never thought they would get his far.

How ABOUT Kansas? Where's the love. Not only do they lose their two best players, they lose their coach, and look at 'em hanging in there.

Can you imagine if Simien had been able to play last year, holy crap.

It is the Patrick Ewing theory only applied to coaches.

Maybe this year will be the first? Like you said, NC State is without Hodge, and GT is without everyone. I don't think Tech will stand a chance against Michigan State, nor will UNC stand a chance against Illinois.
