Will this be another day of upsets?

I hope so actually. I went out on a limb and picked Boston College over Texas. I also picked creighton and penn. to win.

Even though i picked Michigan St. to win i dont know if that would be an upset. Maybe in name only. I only caught a couple of their games this year. Maybe i am overrating them. Either way i have them losing to Uconn in the next round.

Even though there were some tough losses yesterday had some exciting basketball!

Man, I got slaughtered yesterday. I figure that there'll be some upsets, obviously. However, if you want to talk about going out on a limb, pick Murray St. over Georgia.
Penn should win their game; however, I don't think Creighton will - there's always 1 good 5 seed in the mix. Personally speaking, I picked N.C. State to win their game with Michigan St., simply because every time I watched them play, they won. Also, my only other real upset today would be Hawaii over Xavier - the Rainbow Warriors finally break their NCAA Tourney curse today!

I too picked Penn because 1) I wonder about Knight's health and 2) Pitt should lose for the stupidity of Howlan (sp) putting Knight back in the other night.

Other upsets I picked today:

Mississippi (or as Phil's Mom would say, O-Lay Miss)
Creighton
Murray State
Southern Illinois (as an IU grad, I'd like to see Knight lose in the first round for someone else)

Edit: The first part of this refers to the potential penn-pitt match-up. I looked ahead on my bracket. Needless to say, I picked UPenn over Cal-Berkeley.

Monetary gain is all very well, but it dilutes the tastes of wickedness to a lower level that is obtainable by anyone will an overdeveloped sense of avarice. Actually i forgot about Hawaii. I picked them too. Sheesh how could i miss that. I didn't do too bad yesterday with hitting 11 of the 16 wins. But still there were two stupid choices i made and i still dont know why.

I don't believe we will see as many upsets today. You can bet last night that every team seeded 1-8 was lectured by their coaches about what happened to USC and Gonzaga. Day 1 is usually a wake up call for all of the top teams playing on the second day.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling towards you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over. But it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.

I'm 11-5 after yesterday, but I'm pretty much expecting to get slaughtered today. I picked 4 games by either roommate suggestion or coin flip, and lost on three of them yesterday (Marquette and Miami, plus I took OK State over Alabama in the second round and through to the round of 8). Of course, BU beating Cincinnati would just make my entire life (or weekend). GO TERRIERS!

I had Ok State in the final 8 too...what the hell was I thinking?!? Hopefully my other elite 8 dark horse, Ole Miss, will manage to get out of the first round. They're better than you think.

edit: Oh my, Quezzy...What a game. Creighton deserved it. That REALLY messes up my brackets.

Geez, I'm an OK State alum, and I didn't even pick 'em to go that far. They've got the talent, but just couldn't ever really get it together all season.

Oh well, that's March Madness for you. My only real dark horse would be Mizzou going to the Sweet 16.

I picked creighton and they won. Wow what a couple of great games so far. I'm a little worried about penn though. Down by nine with 2:30 to go....

Well for those of you in the Yahoo! league some of us are in I think i guarantee that i will finish last place (or atleast close to last). I went 8 - 8 yesterday and 5 - 3 so far today if Illinois holds on to win. Two of my final four teams (USC, Florida) are both out already. I don't really know what I was thinking when i made my picks. Looking back at it I had Florida and Alabama going to far (I have Alabama in the Elite Eight, but should've picked Kent State over them.)

As for the Florida game...*sigh* it seems we alwasy get some tough Mid American team, two years ago it was Butler in the first round, who we beat by one, the year before that we got beat by Gonzaga by one and now this. I've been saying all year that not having Dupay would hurt more than anyone was admitting and I was right. I got a cut on the bottom of my foot as my foot went through my closet door after Justin Hamilton just flat out fell on his face for no reason towards the end of the game. I heard Billy Donovan was complaining that they should've gotten a technical foul for interrupting the game when they ran on the court with .2 seconds left. Which IS a rule isn't it? Oh well, give it up Billy.

I guess atleast we can say we have some of the most exciting games every year right?

What's really bad is I just KNEW Knight and the Red Raiders weren't going to clear the first round, yet I picked them for the Elite 8. Wow.... Im a moron.

On Tuesday, the Celts go to Detroit and lose by 3 with no Antoine Walker, and they had a good shot to win the game with a break here or there. Things looked good for a rematch in Boston.
