I'm glad to see Mark's 64 man simmed tourney back again as I used to be quite into TNM7 at one point and still think it's cool to see Mark's tournament play out. Being incredibly naive though I can't belive Wrestline rigged last year's early rounds! Well, I mean I can believe it, but it just seems so petty and unecessary. I had no idea they were so sensitive.

Besides, who ever heard of fixing the results of wrestling matches?

Anyway, looking forwards to the results.

Isn't that unbelievable, that Wrestleline would even give a rat's ass about how a tournament played on a simulation game worked out. Does that mean that the WWF ALSO cared about how a tournament played on a simulation game worked out? I don't get the 'why's' of all this.

FYI, I finally finished making a blank bracket with the pairings in it. It's located at:

This is MY expert analsis and will be no worse than the NCAA picks I did.

I'll only do the South Bracket becuase I want to be special.

Round 1

1. Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. 16. Brazo De Plata

- SUPER PORKY will get killed. Of course, he may slow down Wagner's bigger moves because he's so big and he could squash Wagner, but Wagner's too crafty to go out like that. Wagner takes this one, easy.

8. Black Warrior vs. 9 Nicho El Millionaire

- Assuming this in Mexico, Nicho's chances of a good match goes way up. Warrior's got a date with destiny here and last time I saw Nicho he was being stretchered out of Arena Mexico, so I'll stay with the favorite.

4. Blue Panther vs. 13. Atlantis

- While Panther's stock has gone up tremendously since he's been hanging out with Wagner (again), I'm not convinced. Give it to Atlantis, I guess.

5. Hijo Del Santo vs. 12. Juvy Guerrera

- Neither guy has been around much since their tag match against each other...and Santo won that. Juvy has seemed less than focused at times, so I wouldn't expect an upset here.

3. Black Tiger vs. 14. Tarzan Boy

- Tarzan Boy is ranked CRIMINALLY low. I mean, he's matching up EVEN with the #2 seed and he's down...here. Ain't right. I like Black Tiger, Black Tiger's a good dude, but Tarzan Boy ought to be fired up after the injustice that was served him.

6. Rey Misterio Jr. vs. 11. El Satanico

- This is the hardest first round one for me to figure - Satanico's the old pro, and it's just Rey's knees that seem very old (or freshly replaced.) If Satanico was going in this as a face, I'd have him losing...but since Rey's obviously the face here, Satanico remembers he's part of the Infernals and Memphisto and Averno help out for the upset.

2. Shocker vs. 15. Hector Garza

- Shocker is 1000% Guapo! Garza...did a corkscrew plancha once. I don't know, I've got a CMLL-coast bias.

7. Ultimo Guerrero vs. 10. Rey Bucanero

- Guerrero De Infernals collide! This is a really close battle but I've always thought that Ultimo was the brains of the team (he's smart enough to still have HIS mask) so let's give it to him. They do the Guerrero Dance after.

ROUND 2

1. Dr. Wagner Jr. vs 8. Black Warrior

- This was a match THIS VERY WEEK but I wasn't watching when they did the finish so I can't tell you what actually happened but - assuming no interference from the seconds - I'd take Warrior here. But then I assumed interfernce in the last match, didn't I? Contiunity's not so fun sometimes. Wanger wins, making me sad.

13. Atlantis vs 4. Hijo Del Santo

- Whoa, tecinco y tecinco. Atlantis is a nice guy and all but he's not SANTO. Santo takes it and the top seeds take the upper half of the bracket.

14. Tarzan Boy vs 11. El Satanico

- Now Satanico's got things going against him - it's a GdI, which makes Satanico a face, and Tarzan Boy will have backup even if Satanico brings his face/tweener friends. And in a fight which Satanico's forced to stay within the rules - to a point - I think Tarzan Boy's gonna get the upper hand on him. Sorry.

2. Shocker vs 7. Ultimo Guerrero

- I look forward to this match becuase they work in one goofy "Ultimo tries to do something but Shocker unbelieable flips out of it" spot every time they work trios against each other. But really, given what could be next, is there anyway you couldn't have Shocker winning? C'mon.

Regional Semifinals.

1. Dr. Wagner Jr. vs 4. Hijo Del Santo

- This, this is a very very promising matchup. I give it 12 stars! I'm kinda half cheating in the lower half here, but if I was going all the way out I guess I should've had Atlantis get the upset before, huh? Just can't buy that. Anyway, by this time, Wagner must've cheated quite a bit and it all has to come back and get you sooner or later - who better to be that force of justice the son of Santo himself? Maybe Atlantis is the second to help out.

2. Shocker vs 14. Tarzan Boy

- What would have been funny, if Mark was doing this in "Evil Commish fixes the tournament to force the face to go through all his mortal enemies to have a chance to win" mode, would have been to make Shocker go through all the Guerrero's - Rey in the opener, Ultimo in the second round, and then this match. Maybe Tarzan Boy should've gone through Satanico and Mascara Magica(NIT) to get here too, that would've been classic if predictable.

But given what we got, and assuming outside factors cancel each out, it seems to me that the last few matchups, it's looked like Tarzan Boy doesn't think he's better than Shocker. He could be - they could go all out and Tarzan Boy could win cleanly and I wouldn't be that surprised - but he gets scared to quick and goes for the shortcut, and they have been working less and less for him as this has gone on. Gotta give it to Shocker.

Regional Final

4. Hijo Del Santo vs 2. Shocker

- Now, as a face, I don't know if Shocker's reached the level where he can take Santo straight on. He's moving up, but is he there? As a rudo, he could have a chance, he could do it - but after all he's went through, would he do it? Tough call. He is a professional and probably would say he'd do what had to be done, but I think if it came to this, here, against Santo, he'd pull up where he could've taken a shortcut (maybe regretting it later) and coming up just short. Santo takes the bracket.

Very interesting.

That's all I'll say for now.

Depending on how busy I am when I get home tonight, I'll try to send CRZ two of the brackets to post.

Disclaimer: I've done up to the final four so far. I would go crazy actually trying to book all 64 seeds into TNM (those of you who have it know what I mean).

As I think I said in my column, seedings are part ability, part real life push and part my personal preferences. That's why Tarzan Boy is so low and there's only one person from AAA in there. And, of course, why Wagner is # 1 !!!

Rudos, Rudos, Rudos.

Mark, I know this is a dull thing to ask, but as a former TNM enthusiast I was wondering if you've tweaked any of the characters you are using in the tournament or whether you're using the original versions that Oliver Copp has in place when you first start the program. I'm thinking of a guy like Flair here, to maybe account for age or related factors.

I've done some tweaking, but not a lot.

For example, I gave people new finishers where warranted, like Mutoh and the Shining Wizard and Storm and the Canadian Maple Leaf.

Also, I added the people not in the version I have, like many of the indy guys.

But, to answer the root of your question, I didn't mess with people's numbers.

I don't have TNM7 right now, but Flair is definitely not one of the tougher wrestlers in the older versions of TNM.

Rocky-o and Juliet reminds me of when Our So Called Sport had Shakespeare book Raw that one time. I wonder if that's archived anywhere.
