I find it extremely entertaining that on the NCAA official bracket there is a foot note claiming that the NCAA opposes all sports wagering and the brackets should not be used for sweepstakes, contests, office pools and such. This is about as useless as the warning tag on a mattress.

Oh, and my final four pick: Kentucky, O-State, Duke, and Connecticut.

In all sincerity I say "Great first post."

Welcome to the W.

And yeah, the bracket warnings are crazy ridiculous.

Seconded. I had them going to the Final Four. (Don't ask me why.)

Dear JayJayDean,
As a fan of the Florida Gators I will accept this letter on behalf of my Gators, and respond by saying thank you for your kindness. Really, saying we suck is a lot nicer than what people should say about us. WHat you should've said was we are pathetic and the most underachieving team ever. We started the season with four potential all SEC players and a lot of young freshmen who can contribute, we end the season with absolutely nothing to show for it and one less good player because he bailed and I don't blame him. He probably saw how pathetic we are and decided he wanted to play on a real team. We didn't just lose a close exciting team in overtime to a Cinderella team like Creighton, no, we got BLOWN OUT and the officiating in the second half was HORRIBLE in OUR FAVOR. THey should've won by thirty. This fan is so pissed off that he doesn't even want to watch the rest of the tournament after just the first game. But I will probably end up watching by the end of the day anyway, becuase hell, it's the NCAA tournament.

I encourage all the other FLorida fans, if there any, and I don't blame you if there isn't, to now rout for my hometown UAB BLazers instead, but you should be warned if they do indeed get past Washington then they might face Kentucky in the second round which could give you Gators fans flashbacks of the last seven times we played Kentucky and had equally pathetic performances.

I promise that next year when David Lee AND Matt Walsh AND ANthony ROberson AND four promising freshmen come back we should have a dynamite team! We'll score even more points, make even more three pointers and have a good inside game for once. Anthony Roberson will be SEC player of the year and David Lee and Matt Walsh will also make the ALL SEC team. We will go undefeated, be the number one team in the nation and the top seed in the tournament.

Then we will lose in the first round to the last place in the nation when said team miraculously wins it's conference tournament and then wins the play in game to play us. This is the only way we can exceed new heights of patheticness.

Sincerly,
The newest UAB BLazers fan

Man, Quezzy...I was shocked. Walsh just looked like he was trying to do too much...I thought it was Roberson's team to run. Donovon seemed content to pound it inside EVERY POSSESSION, when that's not what brought you this far...I thought Walsh got hosed on the flagrant foul call. He was going for the block. Hey, at least you have football season to back up on...

Go Manhattan!

I always thought Florida was a bit overranked, myself. (Of course, that's the Vol in me talking. Not that it should say anything - we won, what, 1 road game all year?) Besides, there's always 1 5-12 upset. Although I'm not really sure if I would call this an "upset", exactly. Manhattan's not a bad team at all (and Luis Flores is insane, as people now realize).

Oh, like no one saw THAT one coming. Doesn't Florida always suck on an epic level when they're ranked fifth?

Anyway, please do us all a favor, everyone, and don't take a lead pipe to Okafor's back. Please?

So are you Florida fans ready to dump Donovan? I never was much of a Billy Donovan fan myself.

Man Wake Forest barely beat VCU! Manhattan may have s good shot at the Sweet Sixteen.

Great first afternoon!

If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like "Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.

I wasn't that mad at Florida (well, I was) until my upset pick of BYU over Syracuse didn't come thru. That would have been soooo nice.

Didn't see much of the FLA game, but most of the rest of the games from the first session were AWESOME. Love, love, love, love the first two days of the tournament!

Well they lost to Creighton in the first round once when they were a five seed but they also made the National Championship game as a five seed.

As for Donovan, I love Billy D, but if he doesn't do anything next year with everyone coming back then i'll have had enough of him. I don't wish anything bad on him and I hope he goes on to have a good career but it just seems like it's not working out.

I think Auburn and/or Florida are sorry that Lon Kruger took the UNLV job before they had a crack at him.

I think I really need to get out of my habit of picking entirely 9's to win their 8/9 matchup. It's the second year in a row I've gotten burned on it. Oops.

Well I went 14 of 16 on the first day which is the best I can ever remember doing, unfortunately I had my pathetic Gators in the Final Four so that's going to do some damage. Two of my other Final Four won though, and the other one is playing today. I think I have atleast one final four pick go in the first round every year.

And a saluki is a dog.

There are a few constants we can all rely on: death, taxes, the sun rising in the east and Florida's basketball team folding in the face of expectations.

Every Gator alum in my office (I went there briefly, but my loyalty to the place is funny at best) are all just counting down to football season now and probably started once the buzzer sounded yesterday.

First of all, there's nothing better in the world than coming into your office at 9 and watching basketball all morning. Nothing better.

Second, a big fat BOO to my local CBS affiliate. Note to CBS: I get that Gonzaga is sorta kinda a local team, and I get that the game is in Seattle. But if Gonzaga's up by 25 with two minutes left, and there's a DOUBLE OVERTIME game going on in Buffalo between Dayton and DePaul, there's really NO need to show the garbage time of the Gonzaga game. Bastards.

I've only got three wrong so far, but nothing damaging. But I about had a heart attack when the Wake Forest game was so close-they're one of my Final Four teams...

If you're going to do that, then what about Houston and Memphis? Both miss the playoffs if they started today but would be the 6th and 7th seeds in the east.
