Something I was thinking about. We never actually saw Eddie get a rematch against the Big Show after he lost his US Title however many months ago. Assuming Cena goes over Show to win the US Title and Eddie retains against Kurt, they could actually bring up that story to make Show a viable contender for Eddie's title. Eddie didn't beat Show last time, and lost the gold. That could put enough of an "Underdog champ" spin on a heavyweight title match to make it a viable feud.
Or they could make it a 3-way, with Kurt getting a rematch against Eddie while Show edges into it (a la the Brock/Kurt/Show match from last year).
The only problem is that this leaves both Cena and Taker without any real challengers. A-Train? Rhyno? The FBI? The Smackdown talent pool is starting to look pretty shallow.
Originally posted by vacheroiEdge going to Raw is super lame. Smackdown is really starting to hurt.
Edge has been up-in-the-air for a while. With Brock's sudden departure, I don't think he'll go anywhere. Smackdown needs him big time.
But what Smackdown needs are heels. Angle won't be able to carry the heel side alone and if Show does leave, as Meltzer said, then Eddie's going need some opposition.
Unless of course, they go for the absolute gusto and give the fans a face vs face, champion vs champion main event with Eddie defending against John Cena.
Paul: Ok Brock, you've just been handed the ball! What are you gonna do with it? Brock: I'm gonna score a TOUCHDOWN!!! Paul: YEAH! Wait...what?
Raw really isn't that full of heels either. Since Steiner and Henry are down and Jericho is a face Christian and Kane are probably your number two heels after Evolution. After that you are looking at guys like Test who have gotten a push or guy a like Richards and Matt Hardy who really should get a chance to run with the ball, but both are incredibly damaged at this point. Basically we need some heel turns, becuase other than Raven there aren't too many big name heels out there to bring in.
We could see Eddy/Chavo in the near future, but that really isn't a WWE type of Main Event. I think it's more likely we will be getting a heavy dose of Eddy/Angle, which isn't a bad thing. They should think about sticking TWGTT with Angle again giving them a heel faction and making tag-team matches more important by default. It could lead to matches with TWGTT vs Rey/Cena, Rey/Edge, Rey/whoever ... upper midcard stuff. All rambling aside, where's William Regal when you need him?
Raw easily has enough heels; Triple H, Randy Orton, Scott Steiner (he'll be back in 2 weeks), Ric Flair, Batista, Kane, Christian, Trish Stratus and we have new odd couple tag champs so that probably means a heel turn for Booker T or Rob Van Dam ala RVD/Kane, Benoit/Rhyno ect.
I know this won't be until May, but my gut instinct says it will be an Eddie-Kurt rematch at the next SmackDown PPV. Some sort of ironman match or something along those lines. Until then, expect lots of tag team matches featuring Eddie and Cena against Angle and Show.
And I'm the only one who thinks that Bradshaw's never looked better with his new haircut. I don't have a problem with him, he doesn't offend me at all. Most of you just hate him because he had some stuff to say about HHH.
