I'm sure this has been a thread already but I'm looking for some ideas. If you were to buy just one WM which one would it be and why. I'm leaning towards 13 because of the Hart/Austin match which was the best match ever. Any other ideas?

I stand by the answer I gave a few weeks ago: Wrestlemania VIII. I went nuts during the Savage/Flair and Piper/Hart matches. My heart was punding by the end of the IC title match. Plus, it was the first WM I actually got to order on PPV, as my family had just gotten cable. Nostalgia plays a big part I guess (and the fact that the two aforementioned matches are still two of my faves of all time).

nostalgia is gonna play a big part in this one for me as well... but i'm going to say WM VI. yeah, looking back on him now he was a horrible wrestler, but back in the day i loved Ultimate Warrior. that was probably my biggest mark-out moment ever. i also got to see my favorite tag team of all time, Demolition win the belts. plus the fact that there just seemed to be a TON of matches. and like Eradicator, it was the first one my parents let me get on PPV.

Yeah, both of those were great. That Piper/Hart match was memorable cuz Piper kicked Hart's but and there was an excellent story behind it. And the Hogan/Warrior match was like a passing of the torch, that was a good story too, I remember being scared for Hogan cuz Warrior was a monster back then. Who woulda thought Hogan would lose cleanly? Thanx for the reply guys.

I'll go with X.

Why? Mostly for Bret/Owen and Ramon/HBK I suppose. I was a massive mark for both Hall and Michaels back then, so that ladder match had me marking like a mofo.

I was tempted to go with X-7, because I really loved that one though.

X-7 From top to bottom it has been the best WM. The womens match is the only thing that sucked on the show.

it's either four or six for me.

i called the 900 line for the results of four's world title tournament. the antici... (say it! say it!) pation was too much for me and i called three times during the show. i wanted bam bam to win so bad!

six was great because i had no idea who was going to win the hogan / warrior match. that was the last year i watched wrestling until the nWo.

X-7 easily. Up until then, it was VI. The Warrior and Hogan buildup was great, and the crowd was foaming at the mouth.

They could have done that this time with Hogan and Rock.

Imagine if Hogan had returned to the WWF as the red-and-yellow wearing face. Rock has a built-in group who hate his guts (as noted by the Hogan pops on the first RAW staredown). You'd have rabid fans going one way, and another group going the other, and Skydome could have been magical all over again.

Okay, that's assuming a well-written build-up...and we'll STILL see that scenario to a degree anyway...but not nearly to the degree we could have.

Even though I love 13 because I was there, 8 because it had Flair, 3 had Steamboat-Savage, and 12 for Hart-Michaels, I'm going to go out a bit into left field and say 4. I still love, even though the goblin gets involved, the moment of Randy Savage finally getting the WWF title. Also, it had the night where Demolition finally became more than just Road Warrior knockoffs. And I'm a sucker for tournaments.

I still dig WM II...only for the Bulldogs winning their only tag titles.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

I dig 2000 if only because it was in the middle of my favorite WWF period ever.

1. Wrestlemania X-Seven- everything, (except the APA & Tazz/RTC and Women's Title Match) was good or awesome, and I have to love a show with three matches that IMO were ****+ (Angle/Benoit, TLC II, Austin/Rock).
2. Wrestlemania X- For Owen/Bret and The Ladder Match.
3. Wrestlemania VIII- Mostly for the first half of the show, esp. Piper/Hart and Flair/Savage.
4. Wrestlemania XIV- A fun show from top to bottom, except for the battle royal. The Rocky interview and Pete Rose ripping Boston are particulary amusing, and there a lot of good matches in the card too boot.
5. Wrestlemania III- For Savage/Steamboat.

Here's another vote for Eye-Vee. It was the first one I ever watched live, and it had a tournament. TOURNAMENTS ARE COOL.

I, for one, can't wait for the "Who Will Be KOTR 2002?" threads shortly after Wrestlemania is over.

I'll cast my vote now for Booker or a returning Cripplah.

I saw the same article on 411 and if you read further down, it was kinda nixed. I guess they were offended Kurt suggest that since its HHH's baby. I just wish once instead of a heel stable, there would be a face stable.
