On a side note, I think it would be cool if Rock kicked out of the immortal legdrop at WM and did the Hogan comeback, complete with head-shaking, finger-waving, and mouthing "NO NO NO NO BRUDDER!"

But I also think it would be cool if the Warrior did a run-in, but that's just me.

People popped for Nash all the way until the bitter end of WCW...just that every week there were less and less people there for the popping. People pop like mad for the Worm too, but I don't see a big push for the Scotty 2 Hotty World Title reign. Let's see how many people actually chose to watch last night's main event, as that's what really counts more than if a nostalgia pop is garnered inside the arena.

workrate didn't enter into the highest ever raw rating. not one bit.

i just read crz's report for the Feb. 7, 2000 raw the other day while doing research for my column. the main event did a 7.4 and did feature chris benoit, perry saturn and dean malenko but that wasn't even the half of it.

that was the first time any of those guys wrestled a match on raw after their surprise debut the week before. they could have punched and kicked their way through and popped the same rating. it was the surprise jump and their equally surprising turn on mick foley in the show's opening 20 minute interview that brought the numbers, not a butterfly suplex.

what's more, the three were teamed with x-pac and triple h. the five of them faced off against cactus jack, the rock, too cool and rikishi. the over run rating was 8.1 and featured run ins by the new age outlaws and kane.

what's even more, mick foley fucked up the ending, punching hunter during the pinfall after taking the swan dive head butt and the pedigree.

It's just you against the group mind.

The match had its faults, but I have to say it actually came off OK, in the sense that I expected much worse.

I'm one of those people who's been extremely critical of how Vince has handled the nWo angle. While I still think the angle could be improved, the match wasn't bad. And the physiques on Nash and Hogan weren't half as ugly as I'd expected. I stand corrected!

But let's face it, it's easy to hide a wrestler's in-ring shortcomings in a tag match. Hogan was in the ring for, what, a total of six minutes, two minutes at a time?

I'm still not looking forward to seeing either Nash or Hulk in there by themselves for 10-15 minutes straight.

The point I was making FAB wasn't that it got that huge rating because it was beautiful pure puro-style wrestling. The point is that people will watch storylines which center around people wanting to wrestle each other. Mick got screwed, Mick wanted to fight these people, Mick got friends together and fought them. See how nice and simple that is? Mick never had to run over HHH's dog or give Benoit fake hand lotion or any of that crap. Mick is mad, Mick want fight. Mick gets fight, lots of people watch, segment still talked about 2 years later as one of the best Raw moments ever.

Good for both sides I suppose. Adamle's promos sounded horribly forced.
