I have been hearing a lot of rumors about Dean Malenko supposedly returning at WMXX to partake in the Cruiserweight Open. I don't believe it for a second. But who is deserving enough and who can we expect to see in the CWO ? What about Jeff Hardy? Is he still on the injured list? What does everybody think about who will be in the cruiserweight open?
I think if Low-Ki came in, dominated, and won the damn thing it would be one of the most memorable debuts ever. Low-Ki is too talented, WWE is lame for not using him.
The following are Cruiserweights [225 lbs and under] on the two WWE rosters:
SD: Akio [200], Billy Kidman [195], Funaki [180], Jamie Noble [200], Nunzio [175], Paul London [205], Rey Mysterio [165], Shannon Moore [175], Tajiri [205] & Ultimo Dragon [180] RAW: Matt Hardy [225], Lance Storm [WWE.com lists him as 240, but he's competed as a Cruiserweight in the past], Maven, Rico [228], Spike Dudley [150] & The Hurricane [191]
Dean Malenko may or may not wrestle, depending on numbers and whether or not he's in shape enough to do so.
Jeff Hardy is not as of yet under WWE contract, and probably still has the drug problems which led him to lose his first contract. It's unlikely he's coming back.

Low Ki really doesn't fit what they're looking for in wrestlers. Which is kind of lame, so I guess I'm agreeing with you. But he's hardly starving or anything.

WWE established the weight limit as 220 in the Matt Hardy title chase.

I met Low-Ki after a TNA show last fall and someone asked him about going to WWE ... his words were "they couldn't handle me" ...
There *was* a rumor a little while back about Jeffy Poo and the WWE being in talks to bring him in as part of the Cruiserweight Division. If true, Wrestlemania is the ideal place for a redebut.
Great, then his drugged-up, burnt out ass can blow spots on the biggest show of the year, plus, if they're going to do something like that, he would pretty much have to win.
Malenko wouldn't have to win, because he wouldn't be an active wrestler, as Jeff would be.
Reading about Jeff's night at his only RoH show always brings a smile to my face.
You think WWE now is bad? Some of us had to live through 1993-1996!
i agree with king of crap i don't really wanna see jeff back on my tv. But if he sorted himself out the thought of him and matt having a feud is quite appealing

It would only be a temporary comeback. Dean's 42 now.
This rumor is about 4 months old, and has been dead for months. It does make sense to do it, though. Dean likely is the road agent used mostly for the cruisers, since he's wrestled that style more than all the other agents. It wouldn't hurt to have him call it for them in the ring.
The only problem is, Dean can't POSSIBLY be in ring shape anymore. The same is true for Hardy. You're not going to have somebody start back up now and be ready by Wrestlemania in a week and a half.

Throw in Kurt Angle....
APPARENTLY *cough*, he's 220. They introed him as such at No Way Out, AND printed it again on the "tale of the tape" thing they do.
I wouldn't put any stock into what the WWE lists the weight as this week. It'll change next.
It would be nice if on the night Benoit wins the Disputed Title (yeah, I know, its delusional talk) and Eddie defends the Undisputed title the other member of the Holy Trinity returned to the ring. And, since people are mentioning the waste that is Jeff Hardy, why not get a pair of cruiserweights who could set the world afire. Men who could start a wildfire through the country over just the sound of their names. Yes, it is time for MulkeyMania to run wild at Wrestlemania. They deserve it just for Vince stealing their gimmick for Hulkamania and Wrestlemania.
Latest sign RSN's mind might be fading: The new plan is to vote for Jerry Remy's Wally the Beanbag Buddy as the Democratic Primary for President.

Haha...can't handle him, huh? Wait until Vince opens his checkbook. If Vince told him, to, Low-Ki would eat dog food off Linda's ass at the drop of a hat. Sorry if anyone was eating when they read this....

I'm pretty sure Who's juuust over the weight limit.
But yeah, it'll probably be the usual suspects... all the SD cruisers, plus a couple on Raw. And what's Sakoda listed at? Thought he was a cruiser, but I've heard otherwise...

If they want this to be the best Mania ever Vince has to open his checkbook and sign some suprises if he hasn't already. I'm talking Jeff Hardy, Psicosis (who was rumoured to debut at the Rumble), Juventud Guerrera, Low-Ki, Elix Skipper and so forth. Plus the following guys can't win the title to make it a good match: Chavo, Rey, Kidman and Noble. We need a new champion like Ultimo or Nunzio to give the division some new flare. Akio would be good also because he could get a character out of it and feud with Tajiri over the title.
