You did, however, break the table. Shame on you.
There was only one other player on the NES version of TSB that was as God-like, and that was Randall Cunningham. Until those games at the end of the year where the computer starts to tighten up, I could average about 300+ yards passing and about 130 yards rushing per game for him.
One year he threw for about 4800 yards and ran for over 1500 yards...it's too bad they didn't have a trade option for that game, cause you put Thurman Thomas in that backfield, I don't think I would have ever lost
What'choo talkin' bout? There was a defensive player who could sometimes be God Himself in Tecmo Super Bowl...

Hate to bust your messianic bubble, but I recall that once you had the up/cross/dive manuver down pat, you could get to the QB with anyone with a DT in that game.
Case in point: Miami Dolphin T.J. Turner once had 17 sacks in a season in TSB...contrast this with the fact that in that season or the season before, he started every game but didn't register his first tackle until Week 9.
" Kane. where's his sit-up?! i love Kane to death, and love to beat the crap out of ppl with him, but when he gets put down, he has NEVER sat back up, through out all the games. everyone else has their own little mannerisms, but the consistantnly overlook this one. would it be so hard to make it so that every 1 in 10 times Kane is knocked down, he sits up properly?! "
I know. This pissed me of too. Especially since Old School Undertaker actually does the sit up.

damn you! i didn't know that, so now i'm EXTRA angry that they simpy couldn't be fucked to make the appropriate changes :@
i looked high and low through all the options in the CAW screens, and found nothing changable. i even applied The Undertakers stats/moves to a CAW, and it did nothing.
See, I was mad because I wanted to be Flair in a season, but then I found that he comes out to the generic Evolution theme and not his own theme. It really ruins the whole mood of being Flair.

You can change the movesets/entrances/themes of the characters in the game. I changed it to Lance Storm's theme, since the 2k1 theme isn't in the game.
How on earth do you change genders on HCTP anyways? or set it to "other"?
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened. - The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
I got my Smackdown HCTP stolen so it sucks ass. I used to play this game nonstop now its Smackdown 2 for me. Smackdown 2 blows because of all the loading time!

That's not actually trademarked. I wonder if I could get it...nah.
I agree with the sentiment though. I miss the zombie sit-ups too, but I do like how they've got his kind of herky-jerky style down. Makes fighting against him a bitch though.
it would be nice to see a little consitancy in the game.
when you've played and won a few, got some cash, and bought Kanes Attire, you can play mask on or off.
i like to play with the mask on, mostly becuase i think his intimidation factor it double with it on, and also it goes with the rest of the outfit. but you have to selecet on or off before each match. so in the matches i have hair and a mask, but in any cut scene i'm bald and maskless
they really need to think about these little things, 'coz as a consumer, thats what i'm lookin for. not just the big names and pretty colours, but true-to-life gaming. thats the whole point.
Tecmo Super Bowl was clearly the greatest football video game of all time, but you don't seem to have all of the TSB super stars down pat.
Bo Jackson was a madman. Hard to beat when you're controlling him, nearly impossible when the computer does so. Have you ever noticed how computer-controlled players aren't limited to running up, down, and diagonal? They can run in a kinda strafe-like motion, going forward and down (or up) at the same time. Christian Okoye and Thurman Thomas were the same way. I think Okoye was the best RB in the game when controlled by the computer.
Randall Cunningham was also badass. You could throw or run for as much as you wanted with him. Five-hundred all purpose yards a game? No problem!
Mel Gray of the Detroit Lions: greatest kick returner in the game. Could return punts and kickoffs to the house nearly every time.
Lawrence Taylor, while not NEARLY as fast as he was in Tecmo Bowl, was still lightning in Super Bowl. Honorable mentions on defense for speed: Deion Sanders, Michael Cofer, and every single DT (not necessarily fast, but could get to the QB any time).
Little known secret: in a two player game, it's almost impossible to lose as the Falcons. The deep route to Andre Rison never fails.
Last, and certainly not least, the best player in Tecmo Super Bowl? Hands down, without question, Barry Sanders. He was my favorite running back in real life, so playing as the Lions in this game was pure bliss. I remember one game where I would return kickoffs backwards to my own 1 yard line and then go to work with Barry (which usually meant 1 or 2 runs per possession). I ended up with over 700 yards rushing.

This is kinda a mix of both topics that are running right now, but I just remember on War Zone (not the greatest game ever, but for those of us who didn't have N64s it was certainly above par at the time) what a BASTARD Kane was to wrestle. After getting to 2nd or 3rd level, the only thing (using Bret) that I found worked against Kane was drop clothesline after drop clothesline after drop clothesline, small package, goodbye.
Of course, Kane in War Zone couldn't beat Level 2-3 Coco Savage on his best day.
Right it is cool...only problem is unlike previous clocktowers the killer shows up all the time...not even half a minute goes by until he shows up which gets gay but other than that its awesome
