Well, every year builds up to Mania. It is almost like the end of a movie. But it starts all over again the next night on Raw.
Wrestlemania basically marks the Wrestling New Year. The WWE is really making a big deal of the WM20, and stressing "Where it all begins again". I think the McMahons anticipate the rise in popularity of Wrasslin' again, and are trying to get it rolling. They think WM20 will be the axis on which the WWE's popularity will turn.

"Huard, gonna go back to throw the ball. Sets up, looks, throws towards the corner of the endzone...it is INTERCEPTED INTERCEPTED, THE DUCKS HAVE THE BALL! Down to the 35, the 40. Kenny Wheaton's gonna score! Kenny Wheaton is gonna score! 20, the 10, Touchdown! Kenny Wheaton on the interception, the most incredible finish to the football game!" www.eatmyassbeavernation.com

"Where it all begins" also refers to MSG being host to WM 1, and now, WM 20.

I think they mean more over the long haul. Wrestlemaina I established the Rock N Wrestling connection, 10 was about The New Generation as it made big Stars out of HBK, Hall, Owen, and solidified Bret. I think, they are thinking along those lines. And they certainly have the chance with Eddie and Orton, thanks to some great builds.

While the quality of most of the TV hasn't been too wonderful of late, I have to admit I do think we're headed in the right direction. Orton, Eddie, Benoit, soon-to-include Edge, Cena, and a handful of others, the future doesn't look too horrible.

As far as the whole "Where it all begins...again" I think it does have to do with the fact that it has been 20 years since the first WrestleMania at MSG (I'm going btw). But I also thought of something else. Have you noticed in the very SWANK Undertaker promo's the message has been something to the effect of "In 27 Days the dead will rise....again!" Maybe I am over thinking on this but there is a similarity between the WrestleMania XX promos and the Undertaker one.

Damn it. I was just thinking 'yeah, this is what I'll write in response to this' and then you summed it up for me. I was going to say something like WMI sowed the seeds for Rock n wrestling and sports-entertainment while WMX sowed the seeds for the New generation and the Attitude era. So I guess WMXX will be the official end of the Attitude era.
It's kind of weird, because Hogan, who was instumental in the WMI-WMX period leaves just before WMX, while Austin who was instrumental in the WMX-WMXX period retires just before WMXX.

http://ventura.blackpants.net/ resu/wweppv/brawltoenditall.html
that was the brawl to end it all (from what i understand was like a forerunner of WM)and now WMXX is where it all begins ....again or then it could just be a coincidence

Anyone else feel like im clutching at straws

I always wondered if there was this HUGE book the WWE kept results of EVERY match EVERY year in, and that site comes pretty close to being it.
