1)Font size fixed.
2)Doctor Who has got a shot since America no longer has its paws in it, right?
3)Don't blame Dark Shadows for WB being tools. I doubt the ER producer making the new DS stormed in the offices calling for Angel's head.
4)There is a movement to make an American Gothic movement, but it's moving about as quickly as the Hitchhiker's Guide movie.
5)I've LIKED this whole season. The quotes, Andrew's betrayal, the Halloween episode, Spike revealing he's not a Nazi he just ate one, Lindsey's return, Cordelia's goodbye, Doyle's cameo, the Lucha episode, the issue of whether when Angel with a soul turns someone if they have a soul too.... it's been strong stuff basically every single episode.

I also wanted to point out Boreanaz turned down Batman/Superman because they conflicted with his Angel schedule. You know, because he doesn't care.

"I also wanted to point out Boreanaz turned down Batman/Superman because they conflicted with his Angel schedule. You know, because he doesn't care."

This is what sucks most about the cancellation. With Buffy you could feel the egos of the actors growing with every passing season, but with Angel there was none of that. There was real sense of community, of the cast actually caring about what they were doing and not just sticking by it because the pay cheque got bigger over the summer.

This sucks, but after the way that the show was nearly cancelled last year (or at least the way the show was discussed with respect to cancellation), I can't say this is a surprise. At least we do know about this ahead of time so that Joss can script a big bang ending.

To be entirely, 100% honest...I don't want Joss writing the Angel finale. I'd prefer it to be Jeffrey Bell or one of the others who made the last 2/3rds of last season of Angel one of the best sustained stretches of TV I've ever seen. Joss, bless his heart, makes the show a bit too jokey for its own good; Angel was always intended as the darker version of Buffy, and it is at its best when it stays that way.

WB sucks, by the way. Best of luck to all of the incredibly gifted actors and writers in finding work elsewhere, and hopefully with a studio or network that appreciates their talent.

MH: What’s a clever way to say that I have a penis?
CJ: Uh…Mark, nobody’s going to buy that shirt.
MH: How about if I say that I’ve got…a…uh…?
CJ: Coming up with T-Shirt ideas is hard Mark, why not leave it to the WWE marketing department.
MH: I know! I’ve got it!
CJ: Got what?
MH: Stank! That’s Mah Stank! I’m gonna make a fortune!!
CJ: “That’s Mah Stank”?
MH: On the front it’ll say “Can You Smell It?” and on the back it’ll say “That’s Mah Stank”. Everybody’ll buy it because they’ll think it’s a Rock shirt.
CJ: You know…you might be on to something there, sad to say.
MH: I can’t wait to show mah stank to Trish.

You know, I have a feeling that Spanky didn’t quit, he was fired. Why? So they could repackage Mark Henry as “Stanky.” Think about THAT!

Just to clrify, I wasn't blaming Dark Shadows (even though I'm not particularly interested in it). My anger lies completely with WB execs for making a bad call. The two shows could have co-existed successfully, possibly even better than Smallville and Angel do now.

It isn't happening. Hannigan has a pilot in the works, as well as starring in the stage production of "When Harry Met Sally".

It was more likely that Willow would've crossed over to Angel at some point when they were considering killing off Fred.

My final post in this thread.

by Stu

I know you are thinking, thank god its his final post, but who cares what he has to say (thats a great byte if you wanna quote this peice and diss me), but telling me to fuck off is down right embarrasing.

I posted a comment that was supposed to be a joke and when I saw that I pissed someone off with it, I immediatly took steps to try and rectify the situation. Just because I am not a huge Angel mark, doesnt mean I should be told to fuck off.

I agree, if I hadnt have made the who cares comment to start, none of this would have happened, I had it coming. But come on, clearly I was trying to make peace for what I said.

Again, I am sorry that you have to sit shiva for your favorite show, When I was a young lad, I was crushed that such shows as Full House and He-Man got cancelled, so there you go.

I am sorry to have caused anyone any pain and suffering, I know making jokes on a message board is HIGHLY innapropriate.

All sarcasm and humour asside, I am sorry guys.

I didn't mean you specifically at all, I just know the nature of the internet is that message boards have already declared a Jihad against the show. It was more of a public service announcement.

I can't believe that they want to remake Dark Shadows again. Don't they remember how poorly it did in 1991? What about today's market tells them it's time for Dark Shadows again?

Here is an idea

GET OUT AND BUY THE DVDs....Fox FINALLY listened to us "Family Guy" fans once we did that....tell them where its gonna mean something people, in the ratings of their syndicated shows and the purchase of their DVDs

The WB has a lot of shit TV (Smallville, One Tree Hill, Everwood) I will attest to that and Angel usually was an entertaining show...sorry about that, but I felt the same way when I found out Family Guy was leaving me

I already own Angel seasons 1 & 2, and season 3 is on my list of things to buy when I get some spending cash. (Along with Buffy 5).

The problem is that I don't think the WB makes a dime off the DVD's. Fox produces the show, the WB just airs it. If anything, a plea should be sent in that direction, for the show either to get thrown on Fox (and get the Firefly timeslot-of-death, aired-out-of-order, cancelled before it gets going treatment) or maybe put on FX (and get the Lucky treatment of being critically-acclaimed and hyped with graphics that block half the screen of all the other FX shows only to air for ten episodes and then be cancelled and replaced by a show with even more hype and bigger graphics.)

Edit: Don't forget that Family Guy is a heck of a lot cheaper to make than Angel. Not only is it half as long per episode, but its animated, and one writer also does like half the voices, so that saves them talent wise. Angel, on the other hand, requires a special effects budget, and has an ensemble cast of six regulars, plus a handful of semi-regulars, and plenty of extras. Its a lot easier for Fox to make a profit off Family Guy DVD's than it is with Angel.

The news makes me very sad, because I believe that as an cast, the Angel people were having one of their better seasons, and that they probably could have gone another two before things started to really flatten out.

I wonder if UPN still has the option to pick up a season. Back when Buffy jumped, I remember UPN securing the rights to a season if WB ever decided to drop it. This is two seasons later, so I don't know if UPN's rights extend out this far, or if it was somehow linked to the the Buffy contract. I know UPN could probably use the boost seeing as they only have two marquee shows at the moment and only one is drawing consistantly well (Smackdown). I could see them looking for something else with a built in fanbase to give one of their other nights a good foundation. Though from what I remember, UPN was really hoping that they would get to pick up one of the Buffy spin-offs (both the ones they wanted, the Faith and Willow spin-offs, fell through, of course). I hear they're looking to pick up the Mick Foley Detective Hour so maybe they won't need it.

I wonder how much the Angel cast makes on DVD sales. It can't be much. I remember during Season 6 that specific members of the Buffy Cast (namely Emma Caulfield and Sarah Michelle Gellar) weren't happy with their cut of the Buffy Wagon. Emma seemed content to be doing it for the art, but Sarah thought she deserved a bigger cut of merchandise/video/DVD sales. I believe that Sarah stated on Stern that some of the wording initial contract precluded her from making money off the DVD sales, and that basically the only one of them that was making any sort of money off of it was Joss, because it was his concept. I think she might have gotten that at least partially resolved when they renewed her contract for Seasons 6 and 7 thogh. But I can't imagine the Angel guys are much different. Charisma and David were the only ones who came in with any legit claim to extra money, everybody else was pretty much unknown.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised that Sarah would think she isn't getting what she deserves. But for Emma...? During season 6 only the first two seasons came out on DVD, right? Anya(nka) doesn't appear until season 3, and only then in three or four episodes. So what could she have been unhappy about?

I've always been amazed how many fans this Buffy-related garbage has...

Liberals sometimes claim to believe in personal freedom, but their concept of liberty seems limited to matters related to sex....Yet outside the sexual realm, liberals are downright illiberal. They want to control every aspect of our lives: what we eat, what we smoke, what we drive, how we defend our homes and families, how much of our own money we're allowed to keep.

Emma's beef wasn't with the DVD sales in particular, but with her paycheck in general. She felt that if she'd left Buffy, she felt that for the exposure her character got on the show in Season 5, she wasn't making nearly enough.

It's like torture! Where's the subtlety? Where's the character? Where's the satire? It's nowhere, or buried beneath the lame "topical" gags, pointless "Hey look, it's (someone you've never heard of)!" cameos and totally implausible plots. The Simpsons was funny because it said more about life-in heightened fashion, of course-than almost every other comedy on TV. Now it's just crap. They should've pulled the plug long ago.

Count me as those who are sad to see this series go. My wife just got me into it this season and WHAM!..gone. Luckily, my wife got the first three seasons on DVD so I can go back and watch it. I found that a lot of the humor is difficult to get unless you've seen many of the past episodes (e.g. apparently there was some banter between Lindsey and Angel that I didn't get). Funny thing is, I followed Buffy quite a bit - beginning when Spike came on - and now I've started watching Angel right when Spike joins. Maybe Spike will get his own series next...

So totally not the same and you know it. I loved the Simpsons as much as the next guy, and there were my reasons laid out as to why I HATED HATED HATED the idea of them doing a movie NOW instead of eight years ago. Grim shows up, has nothing to say other than insult an entire fanbase to try and make himself look superior to them. I was putting forth a heated debate. Grimis was just being an asshole.

*de-lurks* So, this is what things have come to...

Angel - dusted before its time. I imagine they have most of the season in the can by now, so I wonder just how the hell they'll manage to wrap things up. At the pace things were moving this season, it could've been two or three more seasons until the end.

Babylon 5 - returning in some form or another, but after two aborted spin-offs JMS might have to work some serious hoo-doo to get it flying again - such as bring back the original cast and picking up where season 5 left off. I don't wanna know the odds.

Battlestar - 13 episodes sometime in the fall. I loved the mini-series and hated the original series, so I hope this goes far if only to piss off the old school fanboys. Katee Sackoff as the new Starbuck is reason enough to keep an eye on this one.

Doctor Who - can't return soon enough, the resurrection of another old name could really help right now. The success of this might depend on who is cast as the Doc - I'm still hoping for Anthony Stewart Head. I wonder where it'll end up on this side of the pond.

Enterprise - hey, I like it. This season has been a real DS9-style turnaround, but it feels like no matter how much the quality improves UPN will just continue to treat it like crap anyway. Jesus could return, aliens could land, the writers could channel Shakespeare, but if it was on UPN it would all rate below The Bachelor anyway.

Firefly - limbo, but at least with some future potential. I'll be the first in line when the movie eventually hits. Joss is determined to make it work, that's enough for me.

Farscape - 'just another victim' of the Sci-fi Network, under dubious circumstances no less. Maybe if I win the lottery I'll buy the DVDs. At least there's a mini-series coming.

Smallville - I liked it better when it was called 'Roswell'.

Stargate - I've never cared for the military in drama, much less sci-fi drama, with the possible exception of Space Above and Beyond. Something about it bores me more than any other breed of sci-fi fantasy. I dunno, I guess I just don't 'get it'.

Depressing.
