I have to say, Eddie's promo was one of the all-time greatest wrestling promos. Did you see the crowd jump up and start cheering when he finished? I'm not going to make any brave statements about quitting wrestling if he doesn't win on Sunday, but I will say if they don't give him the belt, that company's got no heart.

I have a MicroTouch too, it's great for the unibrow and trimming your sideburns...if you have someone that doesn't mind shaving your neck, it works for that too

Well, I stand corrected - I'm surprised how many people remember Tintin!

I'm already getting No Way Out, as I had purchased the "Road to Wrestlemania" special DirecTV had before the Royal Rumble (buy all three for $99). With a few friends chipping in, it because just cost-effective to do it, especially since I wanted the Rumble and knew Wrestlemania itself would probably run $40+ alone.

I'm okay with NWO, however. I find that I usually enjoy the Smackdown PPVs even if they end up being timekillers. I just like the wrestlers on SD enough that I'm wiling to put up with it more than I would for the RAW guys (just like how some people are willing to put up with HHH and HBK, where I usually find other things to do around the house when they show up in the cross-promotion PPVs).

-Mysterio vs. Tajiri- I have no clue who this guy with Rey is, and why does he have pubic hair on his head? Chavo atleast seems to have some heat... Mysterio and Tajiri goes 3-minutes. Not much fun can come out of this potential good match with only 180 seconds being used.

-Danny Basham vs. Scotty2Hotty- Well I'll take the announcers word that it's Danny in there. Once again one stand out of Team Basham is Shaniqua who hit a solid clothesline outside the ring on Scotty... A positive in the match is Rikishi wearing pants, he tried to hit Shaniqua with the butt splash but once again she escaped. That's PPV quality stuff there

-BobHolly vs. Rhyno- Nice counter on the Gore by Bob with a dropkick. Bob Holly almost went right back on the DL with that powerbomb ally-oops attempt by Rhyno.... They continued brawling after the DQ which looks like it might be setting up feud, which is getting me as excited as the Rhyno/Bradshaw feud of a few months ago.

-Brock/Eddie interview- That is one big guitar that Spanish dude had. The did a good pre-PPV interview here. Brock played the obnoxious jock so well as Eddie poured his heart out, one downer is the crowd popping for Eddie getting high 3 years... But hell it's a wrestling crowd, class isn't a pre-requisite.

-Bradshaw vs. Benjamin- I guess Bradshaw did a nice job selling his arm, but couldn't get into this match either... But I'll give Bradshaw credit he looked like he was working hard in there selling and moving well, I guess he knows he was winning the match.

-Noble/Nidia interview- Nidia becomes Latina Heat as she rides out in a truck. Nidia makes a small dick comment as Noble response "That's how rumors get started"... Nidia takes her mink coat and puts it in the wood chipper instead of pawning it. That's dumb to do.

-Eddie/Cena vs. Brock/BigShow- Eddie was scheduled for this match but was "beatdown" during the show, how convenient that he would have the night off right before his PPV match, I smell a rat, Cena takes his place. A 17-minute match, I decent match. Easily match of the night. Cena was on the beat down side for the entire match... Give a pretty weak looking throwback on BigShow, Cena selling is coming along much better these days. Hot tag to Eddie who was on fire. Angle comes back out after his "beatdown" and knocks out both BigShow and Cena. Eddie hits a low blow with a chain on Brock who sold it a second before contact as Eddie gets the pin

-OtherStuff- When you think Sable and Torrie can't get any more annoying, out comes this interview. We're not lesbians giggles giggles, but she is hot and well, giggles giggles. Where is that woodchipper when you need it! Well Torrie is pretty wooden. Did Sable just call herself and Torrie classy? Riiiigh. They didn't show much of Rue, who totally overshadowed both these lame-o's easily. Torrie/Sable vs. Gayda/Stacy for WMXX, someone help us... HA! Angle says Cena thinks he's Eminem and BigShow eats M&M's, lots of them...Angle gets knocked out in the back, I blame the pubic head boxer, naa I think Angle's faking it, that untrusty American...

Chavo Sr. Is the man when Jr. said Sr. is going to kick creepy hair's ass, Sr. responds "whaaat?" while injured... Rey and strange-hair is backstage cutting an interview, well Rey cuts it, strange-hair stands there. Rey works hard for his title, he ain't giving it up. One positive they sure giving a lot of focus on this cruisermatch... Brock asks what Goldberg message was on Raw, must have had a sports scholarship for university.

-Line of the Night: Angle "Cena and Big Show does have something in common, Cena thinks he's Eminem and Big Show eats M&M's, LOTS of them"
-Sign of the Night: "Hardcore Hardly" - Which I think I read but it could have been Hardcore Handly which would be less funny
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Eddie. 2)Brock. 3)Chavo Sr. - Sr. reaction to Jr. putting him in a fight with that boxer was too funny.

Not a real good show this week, even for a pre PPV show which is expected for being mostly build. The Edide/Brock interview and main event match came off well. The build for the 3-way was done good as well... I guess Chavo and Rey's build is okay as well but everything else on the card I'm not feeling at all. At least the top of the card is strong. Raw was a much more interesting show this week then SD

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is lowered to YELLOW alert - Elevated (Due to Lesner still being champ, Benoit winning the Rumble, but HHH as champ is still a threat) 1/27

Well Ear hair is pretty soft.....so it might do pretty good on that. And wordlife pointed out sideburns, which i never added to its value.

The crowd was on fire last night...way to work Washington!!

I actually had a pretty good time watching the show last night but everyone is on the money when suggesting that it hasn't really set up the PPV this Sunday very well. I have a feeling that alot of energy will be going into the Brock/Eddie match as well as the 3 way for top contender...they know which guys the fans are willing to pay the money for and I think this PPV will end up being quite entertaining. Most of the guys on the card have actually been pulling their weight over the last month and this could be a decent setup for the run to WMXX!!

Tajiri and Rey...not as good as I usually expect from the cruiserweights but seeing as everyone is probably out there with the intention of NOT getting hurt and trying to give a decent show...I'll forgive them

Scotty versus a Basham...hmmm...not too bad but again a little quiet on the entertainment front. I like Scotty quite a bit but just didn't catch the energy from him that I usually get. Shaniqua prolly had the best shot of the night with the clothesline but Scotty didn't have much of a sell as she threw him into the ring pretty quick! As always...the crowd popped for ass..

Hardcore versus Ryhno...I'll try to keep this one short...
Nice litle match...brawler versus brawler on a night with alot of chat is never a bad thing in my opinion. Shot of the night here was Holly slapping the man beast across the face after their little standoff...dammit I marked out on that one!! Sweet drop kick to bring the Ryhno down on a gore attempt...and having viewed the match several times on tape...Ryhno didn't quite get Holly up on the PB and my guy had to latch onto the ropes with his feet...but they pulled it together in the end. I too imagine that this will setup a streetfight or no DQ match on Sunday...here's to hoping...they seemed to create some heat together and blood is always good!! Give blood...fight Hardcore Holly

Sidenote...the sign said Hardcore Handley

Interview with Brock/Eddie...I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how Eddie managed to keep the crowd's attention through that entire segment. I usually drift away from the TV when guys start jawing about their lives but Eddie had me paying attention. I kinda feel a bit sorry for Brock tho...holy crap...did I just type that?? He was quite the powerhouse what with all the fear and the maiming and the tearing of limbs but what the hell is with this comedic shtick?? Aren't they trying to build this guy up with Goldberg?? I'm so confused...and a little disappointed...I'd rather see Eddie beat the powerhouse then fucking Yuk-Yuks!!

Bradshaw/Benjamin..I give credit where credit is due and dammit if Bradshaw didn't sell that arm like Benjamin had broken it off!! I liked the idea of the block on the clothesline...shows that guys actually have brains...not a bad little match here either...it did its job and generated interest for the PPV at my house.

Noble and Nidia...holy hillbilly's batman...wasn't that whitetrash at its finest!! I laughed...I hope Nidia smokes him in the balls and then they let him move onto bigger and better things

Eddie/Cena/Brock/Bigshow...with Angle and chair
This match did its job for me as well. It set up the PPV fairly well on both the ME's although I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the Angle..well...angle...but I'll take what I can get. Cena seems to be rolling along nicely and Eddie was hella good as always. The crowd really took this match places as it did for the entire night...dammit...I hope the crowd on Sunday is on the same level...then we'll see some funky shit! The only thing I have to complain about is Brock's use of the mat wrestling techniques...I just can't get into his humping a guy's leg for what seems like eon's...am I the only one?? It really slows things down regardless of whether it a respected wrestling move or not...!!

Torrie/Sable/Rue...all I can say is...nice tits honey...I've seen 'em live...next...

And if anyone lives in Vancouver BC...party at my house on PPV Sunday...big screen TV...BYOB

Cheers,

Erin

Am I thinking of the same spot you are? I saw it completely differently. That it was a totally set spot where Rhyno goes for the PB, Bob blocks that by hooking his feet, & the block backfires on Bob when Rhyno drops Bob onto the turnbuckle. I liked it a lot as a nice variation on the usual PB. Although, if it was indeed the recovery from an oops ... well, it was a well coordinated recovery!

DEAN, you need booze. I can live with Fuck Foley last week. I can almost refrain from violence for Fuck Flair on the mic. But, as much as I like Uncle Eddy, unless Arn Anderson has been wiped off the pro wrestling map, Eddy's not the best on the mic in the history of wrestling.
And of course, where the fuck is Baron? Baron equals ratings. Its getting close to the point where the Public Escapades of Kabuki might have to be broken out.

I really liked the Brock and Eddie promo.

Rhyno vs. Holly was surprisingly good. But the DQ ending just stunk.

Every time I see Scotty2Hotty, I remember why I disliked him so much. But he's not as bad in a tag match, when he's only on-screen half as much.

What the heck's up with the boxer accompanying Rey? Everyone knows boxing is fake. And that hair makes him look like an 80's reject.

Pointless correction, but after a bunch of references to Big Guitar Guy, I just thought I'd point out that the Big Guitar was actually an acoustic bass.

I also agree with everyone who's said good things about Chavo Sr. He's been one of my favorite Smackdown characters since his debut. He's been utilized perfectly and has stolen almost every scene he's been in. Did anyone even look at Jr during the backstage promo? I couldn't take my eyes off of the ol' fella: his body language and facial expressions were more eloquent than anything I've ever heard his kid say.

I may have to have an official review now...lol...but it looked like Ryhno didn't have the legs for the manouver and Bob had to hang on for dear life or get dropped on his head...

*shrug*

either way it looked cool!!

DR: I was thinking that this is so Arn Anderson 1987 in its intensity. Eddy is better because he's better in the ring so he gets the stickwork nod. And I've been a-drinkin.

NWA TNA tends to use the old guys for two weeks, maybe three, and then they're gone again. This means that each "returnee" isn't taking up more time cumulatively; they're just filling that rotating "Old Guy" position.
