Just an idle question that popped up as I looked through the ranks...how long does one have to be away from the W before they become inactive? Also, who would rattle off over 2000 posts and then just disappear?

According to this post by CRZ way back when, users become inactive after 30 days. Of course this could have changed in the last year or so. :)

Dumb question, and I apologize for this in advance -- as I assume this one has been asked in numerous threads before: How does one become a contributor for the purposes of submitting columns, etc.?
