Forgive me if this has been done but...

So I'm down at my local video store and realise that they have the most enormous collection of PPV wrestling video's...not DVD's unfortunately...I think I've ever seen...but at nearly $5 a pop...who's got enough cash to watch them all?!?

*I have a pretty low income at the mo...sigh*

If you could pick one pay per view NEVER to watch again...what would it be and why??

Cheers,

Erin

I'm not sure if I'd qualify Heroes of Wrestling as worse than the WWA PPV I caught. Granted, the WWA PPV had one or two.. probably one.. good match, which is more than you can saw for Heroes of Wrestling, but at least HoW's participants can blame their patheticness on age, a lot of the WWA people couldn't even say they used to be good.

Heroes of Wrestling wins because of all the ways that it sucked. I have seen WWA PPV's, and they at least have good camera work and at least one decent match. HoW had NO good matches, the main commentator did the worst job ever of calling the action, the camera work sucked, and all the angles and matches were lame.

Honorable mentions go to KOTR 95 and GAB 91.

Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!

No way, that's one of those that are so bad that you HAVE to at least see it once to appreciate how truly stupid it was.

It has Blacktop Bully and Dustin Rhodes desperately trying to make a match on a moving truck work, only for both to get fired for blading.

You can also witness Ric Flair jobbing to Hulk Hogan in a match he wasn't even in...

Of recent memory, I thought the King of the Ring where Lesnar won was probably the weakest, especially the main event.

This is the only one that has been mentioned that is available at the store...all but one of the vid's at the local store is WWF/WWE so...thanks for the warnings about the WCW stuff...but it looks like I don't have to worry about that too much

AB...were there NO notable matches on that card??

Backlash 2002 which was headlined by Hogan vs. HHH was probably the low water mark for the WWE since 1998 in my opinion. I can't remember anything being very exciting. I think the best match on paper was RVD vs. Eddie, but it came off pretty flat and dull.

Judgement Day right after that is a close second, though the Hell in the Cell with HHH and Jericho was pretty good. So its not completely unwatchable.

The King of the Ring that was mentioned is from this same time period. A real low point. They break the Cycle with Summerslam '02 though.

I'm going to have to go with Heroes of Wrestling and Uncensored '95 as well, but there is one GLARING difference between the two PPVs--

WCW was ACTUALLY TRYING TO MAKE THE EVENT SOMETHING SPECIAL!!! LOLROTFLMFAO!!!

One of the matches on the inaugural Uncensored card was Meng (Haku) versus Hacksaw Duggan in (oh I can't even type it without laughing) A MARTIAL ARTS MATCH!!!! BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

Need I add more?!? LOL!!!

Backlash 02 at least had a **** Kurt Angle vs. Edge match as well as a really good Kidman vs. Tajiri. Backlash 03 had nothing over ***, making it the worst WWE PPV since ... I dunno. Since before WWE PPVs got good.

I can't qualify Heroes of Wrestling. I mean, how can you NEVER watch a show that includes Jake Roberts drunkenly rambling about blackjack and then stroking a snake like it's a penis? That's ENTERTAINMENT, baby!

I'd say King of the Ring 95, Great American Bash 91, and just about anything from WCW from 1998-2000 (with only a couple exceptions).

Uncensored 1995 is mind-numbingly boring for a show with so many stupid gimmick matches. You'd think that a show where two guys fight in a moving semi-truck would at least be entertaining in the train-wreck sort of way. But, instead, it's just dull. Who could ever forget Jim Duggan and Meng staring at each other for the first 5 minutes of a match, and then applying nerve-holds and such for the other 10 minutes. WOW, that's excitement!

Honorable mention goes to WrestleMania IV. While not horrid, it's another mind-numbingly boring show, with four hours of 1980's WWF matches. Nothing to really get excited for.

No, not really. My biggest problem with that PPV was the tournament was painfully predictable. Brock was just at the start of getting the big monster push and no one had any doubts that he would win. Kinda took the fun out of him and RVD in the finals, especially since they would go on to have a much better PPV match.

Some of the undercard stuff was okay - Jericho vs. RVD in a qualifying match had decent action, but apparently, not enough Torch readers liked it, because their bad reviews pissed off Jericho.

Molly vs. Trish was nothing that you haven't seen on RAW a million times. Eddie vs. Flair was dissapointing. Noble vs. Hurricane was just okay.

Probably the most fun was the Angle vs. Hogan match, where Hogan taps. But fun does not necessarily mean watchable.

And good lord, did the HHH vs. Undertaker main event suck. I'm not a fan of either and I think HHH's leg was injured or something, but it was one of the poorest main events that the WWF ever put out. I don't remember much, but the "action" was reminisent of two syphilitic hippos lurching around in a bizarre mating ritual. One that moved verrrrry slowly.

The only thing I really remembered from the PPV was when HHH ran into the NWO backstage. They had a group hug and Nash told him to "get the strap back." Then he said something like, "Hey man, if you get in any trouble, just throw it up," and made the Wolfpack sign. My friends and I still do that.

For my money, I'd say Wrestlemania 2000...for the simple reason that, if my memory serves me correctly, there wasn't a single one-on-one match on the card.

Call me crazy, but I prefer one on one contests to clusterfuck matches where there's more than four or five wrestlers invovled.

SD2: April, Year 3; what's the point to the Career mode, anyhow?
FF7: Disc 1; 18h into game; At the old Mako Reactor outside Nimelheim (again).
FF8: Disc 1; 1h into game; back at the beginning again

Actually, the "Cat Fight" between Kitty & Terri Runnels was technically 1 VS 1, despite massive interference, and it being the total opposite of all that is wrestling.

And besides, it was ANGLE/BENOIT/JERICHO! FOR TWO TITLES! TWO FALLS! In the over-gimmicked booking of 2000...we hit the jackpot.

HEY!! I got that on DVD and it's not THAT bad, okay?! Well in my opinion, the clusterfucks here were less offensive than the ones we get today, and at least these involved ELIMINATIONS! Well, to each his own. If you want really crappy Wrestlemanias, WM11 is it. Only two highlights, Shawn-Diesel and Owen & Yoko winning the tag titles. That's it.

I would agree with other posters and stay clear away from Backlash 2003. To be brief, I would recommend you stick with the Pre-Brand Extension PPVs from the WWE for now (2000-2001), as well as Summerslam '02 of course (I doubt it's a $5 PPV, but just in case).

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)Ain't nothing like a Dirty Pair marathon on New Year's Eve.
2)I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.
3) I'd make an acceptable Mrs. Orton.

To go back to our dear, departed friend WCW for a few PPV's: Starrcade '94. Ed Leslie in a World Title main event. Fall Brawl '93: Shockmaster in WarGames as WarGames goes from great to crap, and Flair has one of those rare nights where he mails it in. Great American Bash '91: We Want Flair. We Want Flair. Scaffold matches that turn into capture the flag. And of course, what's WCW without mentioning the entire Summer of Suck '99. Viewable only if you want to see a company commit suicide before your eyes.

I think everyone is overlooking the obvious:

SUMMERSLAM 2003.

Everyone will think I'm crazy but:

Elimination Chamber - Triple does nothing and wins!
Lesnar vs. Angle - Rematch from Wrestlemania 19.
Bischoff vs. Shane - Rematch from Raw.
Dudley Boyz vs. La Resistance - Rematch from Raw.
Matt Hardy vs. Zach Gowen - Cancelled.
Rob Van Dam vs. Kane - Rematch from Raw (see where I'm going) - still good tho.
The Undertaker vs. A-Train - Need I say more

The only original match besides the chamber was:
Eddie vs. Benoit vs. Rhyno vs. Tajiri
this along with most of the chamber besides the end, and RVD/Kane make it watchable.

PLUS Where's John Cena. They could have put him in the US Title match or something.
Not very good when the third best match was the Cruiserweight title match from HeAt

...and that's the bottom line cos jk sed so
