Was it just me, or was Booker a bit stiff on V1.0? Seemed like he was landign EVERYTHING on him and Matt looked a bit dazed, legit dazed, several times.

I think the whole UT/Kane angle is playing great. I think the "WHATS GOING ON?" from Jr and company are more about "how is this happening" than "who could this be?" especially since you can see UT in the video.

Also, am I the only one that enjoyed the three man booth calling the action tonite?

As for CRZ, I realize with the booking (Kane's earlier attack) Jericho kinda had to tap out, but at the end of the day Flair is still old and flabby. I actually thought there was some great chemistry tonight too. I haven't really liked the announcing over the past few weeks/months, but tonight it seemed like it really gel-ed. With Ross as the face, Coach as the heel, and King as a tweener who doesn't like Bischoff but still kind of takes pleasure in the more deviant things and on occassion tries to legitimize a heel's action or logic. (i.e. agreeing with coach about stacy and jackie, but disagreeing with him about bischoff's match-making). I was definitely surprised in the banter (rather than bickering) that occured tonight as well as the definite balance between shilling the upcoming matches and recapping the ones that had already occurred. The "update" on Mark Henry's arm being torn out of its socket was a nice touch. It's definitely refreshing and I hope they can keep it up.

I thought the show was mostly good, with not much negative stuff to dwell on.

Goods;

- Flair on the mic in the opening segment.
- Kane/Goldberg. Little build, reactions were huge for each, no heat lost by non-ending. Maybe WWE might hold out for this as a main event in the future, but that would mean Goldberg's sticking around, which contradicts every rumor about the man. (Question; where's he gonna go and get as much cash, and why would the WWE release the man who'll be in an upper card slot on WM into waiting arms of some other promotion? TNA might not be big, but the arrival of one of the few men to take HHH's big gold belt away from him might turn a few heads.)
- Taker buildup. JR even claimed that it was Bischoff's 'parlor tricks' to keep the mind of attitude in check, so it doesn't get all too silly. The fans are even frenzied when it happens every show, and blue man Kane vs. masked Kane will be on the house show circuit.
- Jericho and Christian/Evo. Bizarre endings abound, not only with the ref going to look at a squished Christian rather than watch the match, but Jericho actually tapped to the Figure 4, which is a rarity indeed. Selling the knee was cool.
- Orton/HBK. Solid work, even with restholds abounding. Foley is in full on Cactus Jack mode.

Bads;

- WWE hyping new era, and backed by Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, and other new acts, and making a Beatles reference. Just seemed out of place.

- Test.

- Stacy's flash. We got to see Jackie, what's keeping us from Stacy's view?

Oh, and I forgot, I didn't see the Benoit/Henry match as I was in the bathroom. Thus, no comment.

Surprised nobody mentioned how dead the crowd seemed, I mean it couldn't have just been me. Benoit's finish on Henry didn't get as much of a reaction as it usually does, which might give bad vibes. If you're not HHH, Orton or some hoss, then missing even one night of active crowd reaction = danger.
Then again, the crowd was just fucking lame. Tending to agree that the guy was better off on SD though.

Probably alone in this, but I couldn't help but be surprised at Christian channeling his old self. Was that a plancha thingy he did to ringside? Who knew he still had that old light-heavyweight in him.

One good thing about the dead crowd I guess, would be their no-selling of even the whores' pointless HLA routine. Why would they even bother bringing the Playboy stuff to RAW anyway? Oh yeah, something to give the useless T n A whores to do. Meh.

I didn't realize the deadness of the crowd. As I was shocked by how much they popped for the Hardy vs. Booker match. Crowd really into theclapping for face in chinlock sections of that match.

That really felt like a throw away match and was off in lots of places. The two had a better match on Heat. Yet crowd seemed into it.

There really wasn't very many matches for crowd to be into, as after the Henry match the whole rest of show pretty much seemed to lay there and sapped my strength. And well even the Henry-Benoit match seemed short.

The Goldberg vs. Kane match pretty much underwhelmed me. They wasted the PPV matchup between the two for a three way.And this was the second throw away match on Tv between the two. The first one buried Goldberg while putting HBK over, this one ignores Goldberg and put over undertakers FX crew.

I think that bit about Mark Henry's shoulder may have been legit. I noticed after the first shoulder block he gave Benoit he grabbed his shoulder and started holding it like it had been hurt, and he was noticably favoring that arm through the match. It might have just been good psychology, but seriously, this is Mark Henry we're talking about.

A few random thoughts:

-They did the absolute right thing in the aftermath of Mark Henry's shoulder injury. Yes, it looked like he popped it a minute in, buuuuut they made sure to hammer the point later that it was Benoit and the crossface that did it. Also, perhaps it was a dead crowd, but it didn't seem that Benoit was getting that much of a pop coming out at the beginning (both Flair and Jericho got about twice as much as one) so they need to spend the next 6 weeks or so building him up...tonight was a good start, although it's arguable to say whether Trip showed ass or just retreated. But at the very least he was more over at the end of the night then at the beginning. That's a start at least.

-I don't know what was better...Foley's promo from last week or Foley's promo last week with the promo package effects.

-Look on the bright side: at least The Undertaker isn't showing up in Dunkin Donuts and Leslie Nielsen isn't involved....YET.

-I'll say this at least with the O.C(anada). storyline (or the Canuck-a-Powers Explode, take your pick): I was expecting the big punkout by Xian to be at the end of the match, where Xian goes all Owen Hart and kicks the leg out of Jericho's leg for costing them the titles, and I was surprised when it didn't happen. But everything made sense leading up to it, and you'd think the big punk out is coming. Be mah (be mah) Be mah (be mah) Be mah Yoko Ono whoa whoa.

-Was I the only one who thought Shawn buggered his knee legit last night?

-The more they mention Matt's losing streak, the more this is sounding like a classic negative push (which in the end is NOT negative, btw).

-Far be it for me to say what should be on the card at Mania
and what isn't. Although I'm pretty sure a Stacy/Jackie- Torrie/Sable tag match for the spot in Playboy shouldn't.

-You know, remember the RAW from August of 02 right after Brock bearhugged Hogan to death and Lesnar was sitting in the front row to try and intimidate The Rock? If Goldie does the same thing, he IS a Brock wannabe.
-I don't think I realized RVD wasn't there until just now.

-Maybe this is my WCW-watching years talking, but it's probably a better idea to just MAKE the appropriate put-overs and changes and make sure it gets noticed rather than screaming out THIS IS THE A NEW ERA COMING FOR THE WWE!!.

There was a news item that Henry hurt his shoulder at a house show over the weekend, but was going to try to work w/ it anyway.

No doubt about it. When he punched Chris with it later in the match, after not using it AT ALL for 6-7 transitions, he barely connected and winced noticibly. After the shoulder block he never used his right arm. He couldn't even get it in position for the Crossface right. No, I agree - probably a shoulder seperation or dislocation

I thought the Jericho knee thing was booked just right ... it builds heat between he & Christian for tapping out.

They've gotta be going somewhere with Matt Hardy ... they mentioned too many times how the losing streak continued.

And yeah, where the hell was RVD? On Heat? *crossing fingers for appearance tonight at the Smackdown tapings*

Completely agree. The visuals and special effects have been good so far, but it just ruins things when the announcers feel the need to tell us how surreal, creepy, and weird what we're seeing is. Shut up and just let me appreciate it.

For a former cheerleader, Stacy's a lousy dancer.

Really depressed to see Austin throw himself behind the possibility of a triple threat match at Mania; if the writers have Austin pushing HBK to stay involved in the title scene, that means they're probably planning in that direction.

I hope RVD *is* on Heat...

You know, I never understood why the RAW announcers don't hype Heat main events more often, especially when wrestlers who are part of the RAW core (Booker T, RVD, Jericho, Test, Steiner, Orton, etc.) are involved. It can't hurt, and could do a bit to rebut the notion that Heat is a jobber show.

Speaking of jobbers, did Spike piss off DougHHHface, or was that sick Pedigree accidental? I hope he wasn't injured. (I kinda feel bad for him; he deserves a sympathy push after Wrestlemania...)

A few thoughts:

First thing that came to mind during the Taker special effects was Warrior/Hogan II. All they need is a trap door to screw up someone's life to make it complete.
At least Uncle Eric could have said something about dealing with Horsemen when he was talking to Flair and Benoit. And, although we get Flair/Benoit next week, it is disappointing to get teased with that and instead get Benoit against crap. And, as for Jericho tapping out to the figure 4, the instant Kane smashed Jericho's knee they were telegraphing the finish. Bad knee in a Flair match is blood to a shark.
When did Austin become Just Joe?
Booker either needs to go to SD quickly or have a heel turn. At this point, he's going from wrestling for the World Title at Mania one year to not making the show the next. Hell, even King Kong Bundy got to play with midgets the year after his Mania World Title match.

But yeah Raw was an ok show. Christian/Jericho/Trish rules but get to the point soon please, Taker/Kane seems to be building nicely, Goldberg getting tickets was a good idea to help that story along.

I think they should have Benoit against HBK for the right to face HHH. That would be a fun match and allow Benoit to get a bit more over before the title shot.

Flair's in pretty good shape all things considered. I'm sure he could make anyone two decades younger on this message board tap too. His moveset is just about as elaborate as Randy Orton's at this point, but bottom line is that the man still entertains in the ring at this point.

The worst part was when King yells out, "You know what this means, don't you?!" followed by dead silence. Is the silence meant to suggest the announcers can't piece it together, are too scared/bewildered/embarrassed to say, or the audience is supposed to answer back "Dead Man Walking!! Woo-hoo!"?

It was awkward (pardon the pun) dead air. I was hoping Coach, playing the dimwit, would answer, "Papa Shango?!"

Nay, nay and thrice NAY!!

Benoit, in spite of what some people would have us believe isn't even in the same face popping galaxy as HBK is right now and probably never will be.

Michaels is a god (no pun intended) with the fans right now and putting Benoit in the ring against Shawn would set him up as the heel and do horrible, horrible things to his heat.

I thought it was possible for them to pull of putting Goldberg in there against Michaels and keeping him all facey strong, but theres no way Benoit would leave the ring the fans hero barring a Michaels heel turn.
