Great show I thought, wasn't crazy about the Lesnar match but everything else was pretty good. The picking numbers segments started off good with Angle and Eddie. Then Cena running into Rhyno was cool, until the best thing Cena could come up with was, you smell, lame. Then when WGTT's segment had yet another sexual innuendo it got old.
They really need to get Cena to get a clean win over Big Show and the gain the US Title, I think he's starting to lose a little steam. I thought for sure he'd be number 2 in the Rumble (the ppv one) and last a long time like Orton did. With all the people they made look good in that match (Big Show, Benoit, Jericho, Angle, Orton, Kane, Goldberg) I'm surprised they didn't give Cena a better showing. Then another pretty average outing today, although he was injured. I think a clean win over Big Show who they're booking as a monster, and the US title win could give him a much needed boost.
Also about the Conquistadors. Didn't Edge and Christian win the titles as the Conquistadors first? And then the Hardys won them as the Conquistadors later after that?

Actual words uttered in my house: All the "Legend"-area Tom Cruise-esque good looks in the world won't keep DEAN awake for this Paul London match.
Also, I think Nidia got some work done on her cheekbones, or possibly her eyes. Something in that area looked different. Anyone know anything about that? And speaking of things looking different, was that the same Rue they showed last night that they had before? What happened to those super-hot firey red curls?
The Smackdown rumble fucking ruled! I demand more television like that!

Also, awesome? Holly has anti-heat!
The crowd actually managaed a small "hey hey hey...good bye!" chant for him. I barely noticed it, but it was there.
-Heyman/Vince interview- Hmm Benoit left SD because Heyman is mean? Vince comes out to yell at Heyman for losing Benoit. Heyman says he's going to make things better just like how Vince made things better after Hogan, Outsiders and Bret left... Vince who's always willing to take a compliment agreed, Heyman sets up a 15-man Royal Rumble for SD.
-Basham Bros vs. Kidman/London- They wait until Kendrick leaves to put London on SD. Isn't that kinda like saying "Haha Spanky look what you could have had, prime time TV". But I'm sure Kendrick could see right threw that... Kindman & London worked quick and well. London goes flying threw the ropes when a Basham opened it up as he ran to it. Basham hits Orton's top rope DDT as KIDMAN takes the pinfall, how they might has fallen.
-Mysterio vs. Knoble- What Lil' Naitch is on Smackdown! This is huge news which overshadowed this match. One of my favorite non-wrestling people switched to SD! Must not be his choice, he had it sweet on Raw being the main ref for the Divas... Who wouldn't want to be the authority between Trish & Molly. Nice storytelling of Nidia going for the trip up again early on. Again some real good face paced action that went about 8-minutes. Superplex off the top was sweet.
-Lesner vs. Jordon- Err seems like a match just to waste time. I'm surprised Jordon got so many quick spurts of offense but Lesner overpowered him and made him submit.
-SD Royal Rumble- They are this 40-minutes! Totally Awesome! I loved this entire match and being on free TV is big plus. I'm going to pull a kid CDNBulldog/Tunney story and call up Heyman and thank him LoL. Treken it was awesome Angle brushed off Holly and the crowd was easily heard doing the "hey hey goodbye chant" HAHA. Angle and Eddie both take a leg and throw Rikishi out... Seeing Eddie and Kurt in there makes me so want to see these two feud. The mark in me enjoyed it because it's two of my favorites going at it which I personally didn't know who was going to come out on top. The smark in me was really interested on how close they came to eliminating themselves but holding on. I'm always shocked there isn't more slip ups at Rumbles that you eliminate yourself when it wasn't your time. Eddie finally wins putting a nice bow on a great show and a great week of wrestling.
-OtherStuff- The very sexy Rue is hyping that some divas are going to be in PB can it be Torrie & Sable whatever. Rue is so much sexier then Torrie & Sable and she's hyping them. It's like Kurt Angle hyping up a Morgan/Jordon match... Dawn, Shaniqua, Morgan and Mysterio visits some troops and one army guy said "It's great to see Dawn and the guys" Ahh poor poor Linda Miles, she's alright in my eyes... Hey TE2 Jesse makes an appearance, she's always the bearer of bad news telling Heyman that Eddie is injured in the lockerroom. Mysterio is there being concerned see's Chavo Sr & Jr and attacked them as they say they have nothing to do with it... Even though earlier Chavo Jr wanted some major revenge on Eddie as Chavo Sr was hyping Jr up... Kurt Angle in the back furious on how his good "pal" Eddie got attacked, right Kurt I'm sure you are...
Lesner's not afraid of Goldberg, come on after facing Sparky Plugg in the eye to eye that changes a man and fear is not an option anymore after you go threw something like that... Vince says Taker is no longer with us period. And mentions John Edwards might talk to him (Undertaker's a democrat?)... Dawn with balls, Angle has see's his number and goes in a hurry (of course NOT to set any evil scheme to a fellow competitor)... Eddie tells Dawn to blow on it for good luck, Rey walks in with some boxer with a funny hair patch(I think he missed a spot while shaving his head)... Cena wants Dawn to grab his balls for him but Paul said it' s his office and Dawn will do no such thing, buzzkill. Rhyno walks in and Cena says he stinks. Oh great Stanky's on Raw, Stinky is on SD. This is confusing... Next week Rey music video, I like the Originals CD but Rey's song is so obnoxious don't think I can take a video.
-Line of the Night: Crowd "Hey hey Goodbye" to Bob Holly after elimination -Sign of the Night: "Don't talk to the internet" -3Stars of the Night: 1)Kurt. 2)Eddie. 3)London
There's not much more you can ask for as a fan then this. A 40-minute Rumble main event ending with Eddie and Kurt. Great stuff... Even though there was ALOT of backstage stuff the show flowed really well one of the better wrestling programs in recent memory, heck on of the better wrestling weeks in recent memory. The other 80--minutes was fine to very good as well on SD. But Lil' Naitch is on Smackdown? How did that happen
smark/net attack wienerville advisory is lowered to YELLOW alert - Elevated (Due to Lesner still being champ, Benoit winning the Rumble, but HHH as champ is still a threat) 1/27
Get your WWE CD copy autographed by Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and Lilian Garcia after Raw... Oh MY! Christmas has come late. Can't get better then that.
WHAT THE FUCK! When are they going to show the fucking Rikishi slowjam video! I gotta have more kids and I need all the help I can get. Help me bring the love, young Rikishi, my Polynesian sangre. Sooooothe me baby....
And again, I'm brought to tears of laughter.
Dean, I beg of you. For the love of all that's unholy, PLEASE start writing a RAW Workrate Report. Please. I'll personally start a campaign to get Dawn Marie into the Vampirella outfit if you do.
My favorite part of the show was the sheer scream of terror Shelton Benjamin gave before taking the Stink Face. I want that man main eventing and I want it now.

I don't think Edge & Christian ever unmasked as the Conquistadors. Here's the way I remember it:
1. Edge & Christian were given a shot at the tag titles, but Commissioner Mick Foley said it was their last shot at Matt & Jeff Hardy. They lost.
2. The Conquistadors show up. JR is outraged and says it's Edge & Christian. Jerry Lawler says the Conquistadors are good, but Edge & Christian are better and slightly bigger.
3. The Conquistadors somehow get a title shot and win the belts.
4. Edge & Christian then get a title shot and win the belts now that Matt & Jeff are no longer champions.
5. Commissioner Mick Foley says the Conquistadors deserve a rematch for the titles.
6. The Conquistadors surprisingly win the titles with a Swanton Bomb and then unmask as Matt & Jeff Hardy at the top of the stage.
It's been a while and that might be wrong, but that's the way I remember it.
I'm surprised the Richmond Suicide Prevention HotLine didn't get a call when DEAN found out that he lost Benoit. When did Fit Fuckin Finley develop mic skills? His display of his sensitive side when Eddy was unconscious was incredible. Why he's not wrestling and Sparky Plugg is is a joke. Until the finish, Rey/Noble was one of the best WWF/E cruiser matches in years. Of course, now they'll kill Rey by having his video be as moronic as the old Konnan music video. If the last 8 minutes of the Battle Royale was meant as a Mania preview, it worked.
Proud to have been a participant in the most spectacularly stupid group efforts on this forum.

Close.
1. Foley gives TTOEAC a title shot at the Hardyz, saying it's their last shot. They lose. 2. Conquistadors show up and start wrestling suspiciously like Edge & Christian. They win a battle royal on Raw to earn a shot at the Hardyz. 3. Conquistadors win the tag team title at the PPV from the Hardyz. 4. The next night, TTOEAC finagle a title shot at the Conquistadors, but Christian is taken out beforehand by the Dudleyz (supposedly), making it Edge v. the two Conquistadors. 5. Conquistadors beat Edge using the Hardyz Twist of Fate/swanton bomb combo, then unmask as the Hardyz. 6. Foley comes out and says that both title changes stand.
I could be a bit off, but I remember at some point in that storyline, E&C got a shot against the Conquistadors and won. Mick Foley then made a rematch against the Conquistadors, E&C lost, Hardys are revealed. E&C are confused, but then some video revealed that the Conquistadors were supposed to be two regulars guys who were payed by E&C to job in the match, but that clearly didn't happen.
Battle Royale...the best violent movie probably 90% of you have never seen. "Triple H isn't in the match? Hey! RVD and Jericho might win for once!"
-My sister. You know it's gotten bad when an ELEVEN year old knows what's going on.
Mike Sweetser, this was just covered on Wrestlecrap a week or two ago. (As Jobbers of the Week, not as Wrestlecrap.)
Edge and Christian wore the Conquistador garb to get around the stipulation forbidding them from wrestling the Hardyz for the title anymore. After winning the titles, they paid a couple of jobbers to wear the outfits and drop the match to E&C, except once the match actually started, it was the Hardyz in the Conquistador costumes and they won their titles back.
Wrestlecrap was just updated today, so the article is no longer there, but you can still see the history of the Conquistadors (sans images) courtesy of Google's cache of the page.
Edit: Ugh, the board's redirectioning is playing hell on the link, so you'll just have to type it in manually.

I hate to break this to you guys...pardon the pun...but I see Angle and Holly heating up and bringing back the broken arm feud...seeing as it never actually took place after Angle smashed my guy's arm in 00. This feud will not take precidence over Angle and Guerrero but it will keep Hardcore floating around the ME til WMXX...I love it!!
As for the chant...you're right cranlsn...it was barely audible and as far as I'm concerned...anti-heat my ass...any heat is better then no heat at all!! People are paying attention to Holly whether they want to or not...keep up the push Vince...hard work and dedication demands it...and I'm loving every minute of it!!!
Hate to break it to you, but Holly was not over at all on SD. Nobody cares about him this high on the card because nobody believes he has any chance to beat guys like Lesnar or Angle.

That would be hilarious. Like The Bride in Kill Bill, but instead of a tour of revenge, it's a tour of being jobbed out to more talented atheletes.
Caped Boy: Excuse me, ladies. You may remember me as the guy who came to dinner a few weeks ago with underwear on my head. My name is Keith Stat from Milbourne, New Jersey. State bird, the mosquito. And as you may have heard I am recently a crowned class B dungeon-master. So if any of you would like to play D&D today, please speak now or forever hold your peace. [He chuckles, and there is an awkward silence at the table.] Caped Boy: Anyone? Alexa! [Alexa gives him a withering glare.] Caped Boy: Maybe you would like to join in? We do need a druid, and you have definitely cast a level 5 charm spell on me. Alexa: In your dreams, douche-bag! Caped Boy: Douche-bags are hygienic products, I take that as a compliment. Thank you. [Keith walks off] Alexa: Ewww!

I disagree...and I don't think that you HAVE to believe that he will win to enjoy watching him wrestle. I knew he wasn't going to beat Lesner at the Rumble but that didn't mean that I didn't love watching him pull the Alabama Slam on Brock...and from listening to the reaction in the theatre on Sunday...neither did anyone else...it got more of a reaction then the Lesner win!! If Brock had spent less time humping him on the mat and actually WRESTLED a bit more...it could have been so much better...
Everyone here seems ok with Holly at a mid-card position and whenever names are mentioned for releasing...Hardcore is RARELY ever one of them. That leads me to think that people are not so much against his wrestling skills or mic skills but simply don't want to see him as an ME...and thats usually only becuase he has never been pushed as an ME...so WHY NOT watch him put on a GREAT show with Angle?!? It doesn't have to be an ME...but it will certainly be entertaining enough to get close!! If he pulled some great matches and showed he had the chops...would you guys let go of your resentment?? Seriously??
Holly's already been jobbed out to every Tom, Dick and Lesner on the roster TMCG and he's made them look good...somebody's got to do the dirty work for those "more talented athletes" *scoff*
I want to see Hardcore step up the ladder now...he deserves it
I think you hit on why people don't generally get brutal towards Holly having a job but don't want him at the top...you said you would like to see him put on a "great match with Angle". Personally, I'm not sure he's capable of a great match. In 10 years I've never seen him put on a match that I walked away from going "wow I can't wait to see those 2 again."
He is a very solid supporting character, but he would never be someone I would want to see taking up a lot of time in the ring or on the mic. For 5 minutes or so he'll be competent and deliver some decent work, but that's the extent of his skills. I just don't think 2 years of push would get a crowd into him the way they're into any of the top guys (angle, lesnar, cena, eddy, big show, etc.) on SD. And that's not a knock on Holly. Not everyone can be the tip-top guy. But he's just not someone I would pay cash specifically to see and I think I'm likely in the vast majority, and that's what an ME guy has to be able to get people to do. But to answer your question, if somewhere in him Bob Holly has a 5 star match or a promo that gives me chills like Foley on Monday night, then sure, let's see him in the ME scene for good. But I'm not feeling it.
But then I wish he'd go back to being the Super-Heavyweight. I liked him then.
