It's kinda sad that for years I heard about the fisherman's buster(mainly from the Super J '94 or '95 where everyone seemed to use it)...

...but not being a tape trader or having access to any puro stuff, the first time I saw it was when Jazz pulled it out.

And props to Michael Cole for actually calling it correctly last Thursday on SmackDown.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

I'd like to see Flair get Both the women and cruisers (do a reverse of the invasion ending and unify the LHW and CW titles) and let Vince's side re-elevate the Euro Title (when was the last show DDP defended it?) I know. wishful thinking on my part that Vince would ever want to let cruiserweights or women actually be over.

You never saw Perry Saturn's moss covered, three handled family gredunza? Granted, that was a *swinging* fishermanbuster, but still...

Actually, I think Lita is actually getting worse in the ring as time goes on. She has a great hurricanrana and that's about it... Well, a scary hurricanrana.. She swings sideways half the time, and when she does it on the concrete it looks like she's going to hit her head on the ground. Lita seems very tentative in an actual match, like when she goes to kick someone to set up the twist of fate, she flinches a few times and looks like she messes up her opponents' timing...

And I was shocked they picked Nidia over Taylor. Poor Nidia looks like a deer in the headlights everytime she appears on raw or smackdown. Does anyone know if Taylor is out there in the indies somewhere?

It's subtle, but it's there. She'll run a full course of emotions during a Dudleyz match (which is more than you could say for Lita). Plus, I think she's probably the best interview in the women's division save for Ivory(which isn't saying much, but it is saying SOMETHING).

As for her athletic prowess, it's gymnast stuff (which I suppose by itself isn't all that impressive), but if it could be honed into something slightly more constructive than cartwheeling out of an Irish Whip, it could be fairly decent. I mean, most cruisers are just good gymnasts who find ways to work that (somewhat logically) into their matches. Plus, Stacy isn't as...um...top heavy as most women in the divison.

As for Taylor...I had heard she was lending herself out for Indy bookings, and I even saw her name pop up a couple times right after TE finished, but I haven't seen it lately, nor do I know if she's even still interested at all in wrestling.

I heard one announcer say something about Lady Victoria being back in the WWF. Anyone know anything about that?

(And why are the picture icons on the messages still not working??)

I could be wrong but Lita's hurracanrana looks more like a flying head scissors to me. Last i checked they were different moves right?

Except for Ivory, perhaps, Molly is by far the most talented woman wrestler in the WWF...
You know the WWF doesn't give a crap about the women's division because if they did, we'd be seeing Molly-Ivory for the title. I must say, though, that at this stage in my life, markouts are very rare, but I actually sort of marked out during the Trish match on Monday. I'd much rather see that at 'mania than some of the other crap they'll give us, like the tag division.
As for Lita, one day she might be a good wrestler.. and one day I might be an olympic high-diver. She sucks and can do nothing but that Litacanrana and the gay Matt Hardy yodel, and she can't even do THAT right.

awww now CCW... you might hurt my feelings.... you are probably right, but nobody wears a thong quite like Lita. but seriously, i think she could shine if she was away from the Hardyz. she's got the body, a killer finisher, and attitude. many male wrestlers have gotten by on far less than that. i dunno, just my 2 cents...

I think you might be really alone on his one marx of death. If she improved just half of what Trish improved over the last year, she would be right up ther with Molly (who I think is the best) in terms of in ring wrestling.

Her basics suck, and has she ever really gotten a storyline or a heel over. For someone as over as she is, she never made a heel look strong.. I mean Trish might be the best bumper in the women division and her matches with Jazz and even Jackie looked stiff as hell and she made them look dangerous, Lita can't do that.

And don't get me started on not able to get storylines over, Remember Team Extreme break up, build that up and shut it down, and there excuse "well the fans don't want it"... well because you did a piss poor job you jackasses. Lita been doing the exact same thing for 2 years, her popularity if falling (does anybody cheer for Team Extreme who isn't a 12 year old girl)

For the record I like the Hardyz and Lita. Ill defend her because shes hot and the WWF has never been serious about pushing the women. So I dont blame her for not having a decent feud or expanding her moveset. My take is after watching Tough Enough last year I realized that the WWF women CAN wrestle decent matches in the right environment. After watching Tori (I miss her) and Miss Jackie training and working, I realized that they DO know the craft. And I bet that Lita and Trish know more than what they show. The problem is that it doesnt translate well on TV. Why is that? What sticks out to me is the ring is too big for most of the women. I bet in a smaller ring they would look much better and fluid. The problem is you cant make the ring smaller when its time for the women to do their thing. Just my take....

I think the reason they keep her is that Lita wears a thong, and she was a phenomenon a year and a half ago. She's still living on those 2 things. She's completely as washed up as the Hardy's. 12 year old girls is right, Net Hack. Team Extreme is the equivalent of NSync. The 3 of them are one of the biggest wastes of time on tv. They were gone for 3 months, and when they came back, all I did was groan. Usually I'll welcome somebody back for a night, but if I hear Matt Hardy yodel again, I'll puke.

And I want you all to know that I don't EVER bash wrestling.. there are very few people in the WWF that will get me to complain about them: Hardy's/Lita and Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi. That's it off the top of my head. I can even stand Steph enough to not bash her.

Guys, your heel-worship is going too far, dogging Lita and praising Ivory. It is true that Lita has to work on her ground game and her resiliency to be at the top, but I think she has the talent to do it. And although Ivory has good psych (she survived GLOW with her respect attached), she doesn't have the speed of Jackie or Molly.

Trish has indeed improved a lot, and that will be good for NA women's wrestling. As she is already a famous model before becoming a wrestler, and not the other way around, I think she feels she has more prove that she is tough in the ring and not just eye candy.

And crossface, you rant on the Hardyz but you can stand Steph? How about making an all-heel show just for crossface...bleah.

I would love to see a good old Francine-Beullah match right now. I guess I am going to have to become a tape geek.

And that's not a bad thing. It's a good thing!

Well, I am an admittedly huge Hardys mark. They are probably the main reason I got back into WWF after falling out during the hell years of grad school. But I don't see why some of you hate them so passionately. Yes, I'm the first to admit they have gotten extremely stale and they haven't excited me a loooong time. But I don't think ditching them is the answer. They need something more entertaining than the so-called "feud" between Matt and Jeff. They are still very over with a significant portion of fans and the WWF needs to get them a fresh program. Granted, it doesn't help that they couldn't work the stick if their careers depended on it, but at least Jeff has some potential as a singles star. Maybe not even IC level contender, but I for one loved the RVD / Jeff match at Invasion. I'd like to see more of that. Ok, I'm done defending my Hardys. Not trying to be a pain in the ass, I'm just trying to understand the depths of Hardy hatred.

It's not heel worship. If it was, wouldn't everyone also be running down Trish, Jackie, and Molly?

If Lita were just a valet, her being only able to pull off two moves would be no problem (yeah, even though when she does a moonsault it's painfully obvious that her weight is coming down on her legs, not her opponent). But when she actually tries to work a match, her limitations become painfully obvious. While she could probably improve if she wanted to, consider that she's been using the exact same moveset for two years now. Whereas Trish, who could easily get by just on being blonde and having implants, has clearly worked her butt off to improve her in-ring skills and become a real wrestler.

As for Ivory, her style is indeed ground-based, technical, and can be dull to watch. But she's also got a better grasp of psychology than any of the other women, and that's enough to put her above Lita in my eyes.

Oh, of course I've seen that...even live at the house show in Halifax back in September when he was over huge for some unknown reason.

I don't believe that we are bashing faces and hugging the heels here (yummie)
What comes to my mind (what i can actually mention here) when watching a Lita match is the fact that her timing seems awkward. Or maybe it's her movements..I dunno..
Whenever she does that jumping clothesline the point of impact seems to come too late, she is already halfway down to the floor. As stated her kicks are kinda weird looking.
The moonsault, the weight is on her legs, but then its a good thing she usually hits her opponents with her legs anyways *grin*
I love the Cheatacanrana..though as said earlier, it is more of a swinging headscissors deal.

Trish really improved from being T&A to bump taking hard working T&A..that is why I give her props.
Ivory brings an intensity to the ring you don't see very often, and she can work matches..that is why I give these ladies props.

Just a few random thoughts at 3am...

Lita does have the ability to both take some pretty stiff bumps and get over with the crowd on charisma. Evidence the RAW in which she played a major part of the main event in just a year or two ago. I remember seeing all kinds of posts about how this heralded a new era in women's wrestling, how Lita had broken through to where no (working) woman had ever gotten to before. The fans popped for her like she was the Rock or something. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone to her head and she's regressed in the ring.

But if you dig out some of the ECW tapes with Miss Congeniality (sp?) you'll find her selling well (granted she was limited to spot action). And I can still picture the sick bump she took on the floor attempting to get a hurricanrana on Dean Malenko... the Shooter dropped her right on the skull.

You've also got to remember that she was trained by the Hardyz... so she's never been properly schooled in the arts of the whole match. Someone has obviously taken the time to sit down with Trish and find a way to make her better. That same someone now needs to find Lita. She doesn't need to be as good as Molly or Ivory or even Trish... her charisma will do most of the work for her (see Rock, The). She just needs to be credible. And that isn't asking much.

I like Lita, but agree she needs to smooth out some very rough edges. But what was up with last nights match?????
They could have given the whole segment to the actual match and just had Jazz do a post match runin with the same effect.
