It's been reported that Smackdown superstar Matt Morgan has been seriously injured during an match at tonight's house show in Reading, Pa.
Morgan was teaming with Big Show & Brock Lesnar, taking on Hardcore Holly & Billy Gunn. Holly clotheslined Morgan at ringside and continued to stay down after the match. Morgan was taken out on a stretcher after attempts to get him up by wrestlers and doctors failed.
We will have more news on Morgan's condition as soon as we have it.
Tough break for the guy. I can't stand him too much, but after his showing last night in the Rumble, this sucks for him. They really have a lot of faith in the guy and his future in the company. Hope it's not too bad and him leaving like that was precautionary and he'll be back on my tv to make me hate him again soon.
Good luck and speedy recovery to him.
Wait! Holly did this?? Damn, he sucks too.

He couldn't get up after a clothesline? That sounds too weird to be anything but bad. I do hope Holly wasn't trying to teach him some "respect" by stiffing him. Morgan's just a kid.

The last time he played stiff to teach respect, he got his neck broken. If "stiffness to teach respect" is the case here, Holly hasn't learned a thing at all from his injury.

During a tag match, Morgan took a clothesline from Bob Holly, and didn't get up. The match stopped and Morgan still couldn't get to his feet. He was eventually taken to the hospital. At this point it doesn't appear that the injury is serious.
Looks like he's OK. This fares badly for Holly whether it was an accident or not, considering his reputation. If it was him being an asshole again, he should get one more shot at Brock with Brock being given the OK to end his career.
"I want you to hit me as hard as you can, 'cuz your working punches are killing me!" -- Ricky Morton to Bob Holly.
Morgan could've merely been KO'd.

This is from the same website...looks like it wasn't Holly's fault...just an accident...I'm really hoping everybody won't continue to get freaked out everytime Bob bumps somebody!! Geez...as for Morgan...he seems a bit injury prone...a little GREEN perhaps???
"PWTorch has confirmed that Matt Morgan went to the hospital after his match at last night's Smackdown house show in Reading, Pa.
As noted by our correspondent in a report earlier, the injury came during a tag match where he teamed with Brock Lesnar & Big Show against Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly.
Morgan took a bump off the ring apron from a Holly clothesline and landed awkwardly. The injury was believed to be to his neck or head, but any more specific details are not available.
Holly is not being looked at as being responsible for the injury. It was a routine move with an unfortunately bump.
There was a pause in the show for several minutes as Morgan was tended to at ringside. He was then taken to the back on a stretcher and sent to a local hospital for evaluation.
Morgan is a rookie in WWE who originally got into wrestling through the Tough Enough TV show. He suffered an injury during the show and didn't complete the training there. He then went on to train at WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling, before he was called up to the main Smackdown roster before Survivor Series last year."
They should book a match with Holly and Dr. Death lol.(Bitter Old fucks that work stiff yet still somehow are boring match)
It's cool that Morgon seems to be ok, prolly just knocked loopy for a few. Stuff happens, and I actually doubt it's Holly's fault...but the cheap shots on him are fun anyway.
"dubya never talks while cheney is drinking water...check that shit out"
I'll be the first one to preach about how Bob Holly's such a jackass, but I'd rather wait and get more of the story on this one. Was it a routine clothesline and Morgan injured himself (like the old injury that knocked him out of TE2), did Morgan collapse due to a health issue, or was it yet another case of Holly trying to stiff a rookie?
I'll reserve judgment until there are more details available. There are already MORE than enough reasons to hate Bob Holly (one being that he's a bitter never-was), but I hope we don't have to add another one to the long list.
You really SHOULD think about going back to your old Yankees cap, yo!
I dont get all the Matt Morgan haters. Sure, he is big and doesnt have an awesome set of offensive moves, but, he IS a rookie, and even the Undertaker took a few years to hit his stride and put on entertaining matches.
Now, if the tough enough crew would only have taught him to take a bump.....

Ah, Morgan ain't so bad. I can't speak for everyone here, but my dislike lies more with that *type* of wrestler.
I don't know. WWE seems to mark-out for guys who are "larger than life". That was the case for me when I was kid, but eventually you want a little more than that. (like say a varied arsenal of moves)
That PW Torch report is okay, but I think they put a little too much emphasis on Matt being a rookie. After all, he had been training in OVW for a year and has had plenty of matches where he had to take a clothesline (and certainly worse).
Now, say it was just a screwup and no one is to blame is fine, but to try to put blame on Matt because "he's green" is reaching a little.
I hope for the best for Matt - I think he's one of the few cases where we have a large guy that is enthused about wrestling (he had a match and a half last week on OVW after working on RAW and then went straight to the PPV as well) and CAN actually wrestle.
Still needs to learn more on the storyline end is where his problem lies, but he's getting there. I hope this won't set him back for long.

I think the main problem is why is he floating anywhere near main event territory. Then again, why are Billy Gunn and Sparky Plugg within hailing distance of main event territory is an even scarier thought. Deepest roster in wrestling history and Matt Morgan, Billy Gunn and Sparky Plugg are in a match with the World Champ?
This is God's country, this is America and I've got a Rolex watch and you don't. Ha Ha.
I wouldn't be angry with Matt Morgan for being in the main events, though. Rookie or not, if Vince asked him to be in the biggest match of the card and he said "No thanks, I'm not comfortable in the spotlight yet", he might not get that chance again. Be angry with WWE management for putting him in there instead of a more deserving wrestler.

During the TE2 tryout, didn't Jim Ross specifically say if Morgan was going to break into the business, he was going to have to do it then because he was getting too old? If I remember right, he was 26, which makes him nearly 30 now. Green, yes, a kid? Not quite.
Since I think I was the one that actually initially claim to not like Matt Morgan, I'll bite. My dislike for him is wholely in WWE management, which is what I stated, sorta, in my first post here. They have faith in him, they put a lot of stock in him, good for him.
My problem with him is that he has no substance. He's just a big guy with limited offense and he growls a whole hell of a lot. In the Rumble, he did well, but he's just another 'big guy' in the pack. Nothing more.
Again, it's the WWE's fault for MY dislike of him. They never gave me a reason to care about this 'very green' rookie. Hell, when Randy Orton was injured, they gave him the RNN Reports. Before the RNN Reports, we thought he was just a big guy with a nice cross body, right?
Matt Morgan is just... blah. No story. Most people didn't even know the guy was on Tough Enough. I don't NOT LIKE him personally, I don't know the guy. I just don't like him because of WWE management dropping the ball here.

A lot of people backstage in WWE are pointing the finger right at Hardcore Holly for the injury Matt Morgan suffered at the Smackdown house show a few days ago. Morgan was unable to get back to his feet after a stiff clothesline from Holly.
Holly has had the reputation of working stiff and trying to be a "bully" to younger talent for years.
Many wrestlers took great pleasure in seeing Fit Finley attack Holly in a stiff manner during the recent pull apart brawl on Smackdown.
