I'm pretty sure his neck problems won't let him do that move anymore, but that's speculation.

Thanks for fixing the title guys. The Royal Rumble DVD is already available for preorder on silvervision. Extras are Excluive interviews, History of the Rumble and more. Would be cool if they put the Benoit speech of there. At least we can expect no music licensing issues apart from Puddle of Mudd.

BTW, video producion was top notch last night. Loving the WMXX countdown.

Well no clearly that wouldn't equal great but thats far from how the match went. There was googd back and forth stuff until the Asai moonsault/table spot (which got a holy shit chant incidentally) that allowed Michales to be set up as the underdog with HHH on offense.

Period of Trips domination which showed Michaels as unwilling to quit and HHH as sadistic, cocky, and desperate in turn. Crowd got behind HBK (hence HBK chant) as Michaels came back and after a few near things we got the double count out.

The crowd obviously is never gonna love a draw, and nor were they meant to. Having Shawn Michaels almost get back up mwas designed to give the hope and then dash it (ie piss them off).

"A match 7 years in the making" ends in a draw? A draw??? Elevated both guys? Since when do HHH and HBK need elevating?

Well the draw means we've got a strong champion and a legitimate face challenger to add to Goldberg. These guys don't need elevating per se, but that doesn't mean you bury them just for shits and giggles.

But whatever, I guess its a matter of what style of match you prefer. I've always been more of a mark for the all out brawls than drawn out technical matches. Many people on this board as well as in my own little social circles seemed to enjoy the fight too, you didn't. Its really not that big a deal.

Benoit next 4 months could be great, or could be shit (more likely) to him. He wins at WM, he'll defend it at Backlash, hopefully against someone new (though Triple H will likely want a rematch). Now, the PPV is in Edmonton, which is Benoit home town, yet Booker T and HBK have both been jobbed numerous (more so Booker T) times in recent memory in their home towns. If Benoit loses in Canada, it's over for him. Done. End of story.

If Benoit loses at WM, the Royal Rumble was a waste, but maybe he'd then get a rematch at Backlash with his home town. Big push for him and then he wins. That'll be a better future for him.

Another option is, he loses at WM and then is jobbed to Orton and Batista. Worst scenario.

For now, Benoit is a SmackDown superstar contracted to SmackDown who's just won an event only he, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, John Studd, Jim Duggan, Yokozuna, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Triple H, Vince McMahon & Brock Lesnar have won, and did it in the most impressive way: He lasted the entire match, practically 62 minutes. So...until someone else does that, I say we just go "Wow, Benoit rocks". And until Benoit is traded to RAW (if he is), let's see how things pan out.

Royal Rumble was okay. The problem is that I won't want to order WrestleMania XX because of it.

Why?

I'll look on the bright side and say, "Hey -- Benoit WON last night. Second man other than Shawn Michaels to win from #1, and Michaels is a multi-time champion. Why all the bitching?"

My answer? We are conditioned to think that Trips will probably win, and when you have that embedded in people's minds you're playing with fire.

Oh, and what are the different phases of a bloody Muta? I mean, the .8 Muta was hit last night... but is there better or worse?

I know this veers into fantasy booking, but I want to at least give hope to people who feel impending doom of Benoit jobbing to HHH.

1) HHH has been said to be grooming Randy Orton as a future opponent.
2) It's been said that Benoit/HHH and Orton/Foley in some form will happen at Wrestlemania.
3) With Benoit and Orton as 1 and 2 in the Rumble, it feels like they were setting up Benoit/Orton as an unresolved issue.
4) The best way to build Orton up to be the huge payday that HHH wants would be to get the title on him in a way that isn't HHH dropping the belt and taking it back at the next pay-per-view.
5) This can happen if HHH beats Benoit, Randy Orton is set up to feud with Benoit, and HHH going over Orton at Wrestlemania XXI.

So, Benoit going over HHH at Wrestlemania can possibly fulfill the needs of HHH's alleged ego.

I don't order PPVs, so I'm not one to judge from an entertainment standpoint. However, the booking from last night was pretty good for the most part. From the Rumble match: Goldberg/Lesnar, HHH/Benoit, Taker/Kane, and something with Foley/Orton are all presumably being built up for Wrestlemania. I just don't see any other alternatives for the first four wrestlers I mentioned... at least in terms of big-time PPV booking. Lesnar beat Holly decisively, so hopefully that means the end of that feud... I wonder what they'll do with Holly now, because I just don't see anything interesting for him as a face besides feuds with the likes of A-Train and Matt Morgan. Eddie/Chavo told a pretty good story as well, as Eddie not only won decisively, but showed a mean streak after the match as well. If they go along with Eddie/Lesnar at NWO, then that will serve well to go against Brock's "coward" character. Flair/Batista vs. Dudleys was just blah... as was Rey/Noble, and the Nidia blind angle continues to go on. And I'm guessing they'll go with some sort of blowoff match with HHH/HBK on RAW in the next few weeks... they've already done a streetfight, 3 stages of hell, and a last man standing match together. Should be interesting to see where they go with this.

I'm confused. So if there was someone you didn't like that won the Rumble, you WOULD want to order WM XX because of this? You are intimating that you would rather watch a less interesting main event. If this is the case, then I would surmise that you really weren't going to order the show.

With me, even as I don't dig Benoit like some here, the prospects for either a Brock/Benoit or HHH/Benoit main event greatly increase my desire to order the show. No matter what, the point is that Benoit won the Royal Rumble, lasting over an hour and earning a WM title show. That's all this means, and I'm happy enough with it.

Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!

I think what he meant was that he feels the angle peaked last night with Benoit's Rumble win and that it's all downhill from here, potentially leading to a depressing job to HHH. Why risk paying an additional $50 for something you don't want to see when you've already paid $35 for something you did?

WrestleMania 20 will still have a decent buyrate, but the fact that HHH has had so many title wins at WM over the last 4 years has conditioned fans to think he may just go over again this year.

Not saying that it will happen, but there is a great potential for it.
