Just a head's-up that a lot of stores seem to have broken street date on the Mick Foley DVD. It's SUPPOSED to be out on the 20th, but one of my friends told me that FYE has it out already, and I found it tonight at Best Buy.
I had preordered it from Amazon and they sent it on the 16th. Have to wait until early February though. Can you tell me how the blurring situation stands on the DVD?
The blurring is the same as with all WWE releases; they blur out the scratch WWF logo and they try to remove the audio when someone says "WWF" rather than "World Wrestling Federation." They did that on the Flair DVD. In all of his promos when he said "WWF" they clipped it.
"Win if you can, lose if you must, but in the end, always cheat..." - Jesse "the Body" Ventura
Sorry I asked about the blurring its just that I was thinking of Mick and Taker on top of the cell and having to see a huge blur on one of the signs would be massivly irritating. I thought that since in most of their footage they tape each camera angle seperatly, that they could maybe switch angles to avoid viewing the logo.
As regards to saying the letters 'WWF', I was wondering if they had left it in, cause on the Brock DVD, I believe the WWF letters were said several times. The irratation over this WWE vs. WWF blurring/clpiping stuff gets under my skin more and more as all these almost perfect DVDs get released.

Hey Mike, if I have Three Faces, Hard Knocks, and ECW's Best of Cactus Jack, is there any reason for me to buy this?
I'd say there is. Matches on this DVD that aren't on any of the three listed above:
-Cactus Jack v. Big Van Vader (WCW - 4/93) -Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne v. The Nasty Boys (WCW - 9/94) -Cactus Jack v. Chris Candido (Smoky Mountain - 11/94) -Cactus Jack v. HHH (WWF - 9/97 - clipped on 3FoF, full version here) -Mick Foley v. Terry Funk (WWF - 5/98 - clipped on 3FoF, full version here) -Mankind v. Undertaker, Hell In A Cell (WWF - 6/98 - clipped on 3FoF, full version here) -Mankind v. The Rock (WWF - 1/99, WWF Title win) -Cactus Jack v. Sting (WCW - 6/92) -"Jack" Foley and Les Thornton v. The British Bulldogs (WWF - 9/86, Foley's jobber debut)
Plus, a lotta buncha promos (some of which have been on those previous DVDs, some haven't been seen since they aired).

I was more surprised that they overdubbed his WCW music, but I guess that was probably public domain.
And yes, as stated, just having Cactus-Vader and Cactus-Sting is enough reason to buy this DVD. On the other hand, unless you like Cactus' ECW promos (and who doesn't?) there's no real point in buying the ECW Cactus DVD, as the important matches and promos are on this set.
I hopped into the car and drove for twenty minutes in the snow and sleet to Best Buy based on you guys having seen it in stores. I get there and I don't see the DVD, so I ask a guy who works there. The guy says, in a self-confident tone, that they won't get it until February, which obviously isn't true. I had the urge to punch the guy in the neck.

No, it has three of his ECW promos on DVD #1:
* His interview after his first match with Sabu where he spits on the WCW World tag team title belt * His promo after his heel turn talking about seeing a sign that read "Cane Dewey" * His first "anti-hardcore" promo where he yelled at the ECW fans
Didn't Jesse try to get royalties from commentaries that were re-released on compilation tapes, leading to all commentary involving him being replaced with a new one?
...full of energy. Multi-orgasmic, if you will, in a cosmic sort of way."
Cool - that means that, in just six months, I'll be able to buy it in Canada
Glad to hear it's a good one. FYI to any of you DVD purchasers in the Toronto-area, just found Bloodbath for the first time at the downtown TO HMV. Been trying to find that one for a couple of weeks now. And I was surprised it's only $22 (Canadian) for a 2-disc set...
Thanks for the heads up - I was able to pick up the DVD at Best Buy yesterday (Mayfield Hts., OH). That is a most excellent DVD, I had never seen the Mind Games match and it was really awesome.
Meltzer is a weird entity. He is sorta like the Roger Ebert of Pro Wrestling if Ebert was much more interested and seeming to make a lot more money ie legitimacy by reviewing TV shows.
