Since I live in Western Canada, I'm lucky if the WWE comes through here once a year. But this year reportedly Edmonton's getting April's RAW PPV Backlash, and the next night my hometown of Calgary's getting RAW. I'm planning on going to at least one show, but if I can afford it, should my friends & I make the trek up Highway 2 and go to both shows? I wasn't able to go to the last area PPV (Canadian Stampede) and I don't want to miss another one.

Advice?

Do both. With Benoit's rumored push, there's a chance you'll get a Wolverine title win AND his first defence. Maybe even him dropping the belt back to Hunter!

I agree; Western Canadian fans are the best in the world, and live crowds are always intense.

I would love to have more shows out here. Why does Oshawa freaking Ontario get more shows than Edmonton? Western Canada has Benoit, Jericho and Storm. Oshawa has TEST. Seriously.

That was my line of thinking as well. If Benoit does indeed get the title shot at Backlash, then I'll make the trip up to *shudder* Edmonton. As I haven't really been keeping up with Raw lately, I highly doubt I'd spend the cash to catch it if it does hit Calgary...possibly having Benoit in the mix might change that, though.

I wouldn't be so fast as to buy tickets early because of a rumored direction of the company. All I know is that the last 2 or 3 years of the Backlash PPV have yielded the worst PPV's of the year. If money is indeed no object, then I would do both. But if you are going based on past records, then I would be wary about plugging money in for a possible stinker of a show.

Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!

I understand many of you are saying Benoit's title win will come in Edmonton, but how does that make sense for Mania? If the two world title matches are going to be Lesnar vs Goldberg and Benoit vs HHH, and considering Lesnar is already going over Goldberg, how can the WWE have heels walking out victorious in BOTH title matches? I don't know how that would work.

I'm really split on this. Keeping in mind the above situation, plus me wanting to see Benoit get his title win at WM, with my attendance on top of it, I still think seeing Benoit win his first world title in Edmonton will result in the hottest crowd..EVER. What will probably happen is Benoit will get his title win at Mania, then Hunter will make sure to kill the crowd and all of Benoit's heat by squashing him for the title at Backlash.

Time and time again, hometown boys NEVER win. Just ask Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and even Kurt Angle; they're never allowed to win when they're facing family and friends.

Heck, when Smackdown! came to Calgary a year or so back, Lance Storm participated...and LOST. In front of his home town.

As much as I'd kill to see Benoit win the title (in Edmonton, no less); I highly doubt it's going to happen.

LoL SOK that's so true, even though I think Rey might not be the best example because he's had some success in his hometown. The best example is Booker T, who always loses in Houston, and if he's in a tag match he'll be the one to get pinned, heck if he's in a 10-men elimination match he'll be the first to get eliminated... Canadian's don't tend to do well in their hometown either.

If Benoit jumps to Raw. I'm calling a Randy Orton clean win over Chris Benoit at Backlash, Right now!... So I'm putting an orange paperclip on this to remind me when it does happen I can brag and prove my wrestling smarts superiority, and with that along with the 60 cents in my pocket, I can finally get that cup of coffee I've been saving up for

And how does that not fit Jeff’s character/personality over the last 10 years? It’s a vanity belt, and they usually suck, but are made to appeal to the guy wearing it.
