Man, I noticed that too it was awful. I never want to see her do a rana again.

I thought it was a pretty decent show, I especially dug the main event, it started slow, but it got good by the end... To those pissed about the "popular Matt Hardy who can connect with fans" the guy he lost to is arguably the most over guy on Raw, and a major player. The way I look at the squash is Matt is a former cruiser and tag champ, Goldberg is a former World champ not only for this but for another organization as well. At this point in time a guy like Matt Hardy should not be kicking Goldberg's ass, or else Goldberg loses any and all credibility. I like Matt Hardy, but even I had no problem with what happened....Jericho's match was OK, though it looked like they got a little tired near the end, it'll be interesting to see what happens next in As the Sqaured Circle Turns...I was a little confused about the Booker T match ending, but I think this may set up Booker getting the elimination on Kane at the rumble...I thought it was a pretty solid show tonight

OK - was that Jeff Hardy beside the empty chair that Orton had reserved for Foley? I thought it looked like him, and the North Carolina tracksuit/Hat combo would be an appropriate "disguise".

I kept waiting for some kind of intereference from him during the RVD/Orton match. I'm happy it never occurred, but WAS that Jeff, or am I crazy?

He looked too big to be Jeff, I think ...

Who did Jericho piss off this time?

Honestly, I thought the show was lame again. I just kinda drifted in and out of it. According to the recap, Stacy gives relationship advice to Trish. Stacy "Beaten by Test and Steiner" Keibler. No offence to everyone involved, but I'm bored already. Also, I dig Austin, but not the sheriff thing. Uh, the HHH/HBK thing was pretty good, but like I said, my mind wasn't totally involved. I do know that I now see TWO CHINS on HHH, and that ain't good! Being psychic, I had a feeling that empty seat would be unused. I agree that a lot can happen in 1 second. Matter of fact, the second I turned away from Raw, I made a beeline for my Crush Girls tape.

What a waste of a perfectly good seat. Anyway, forgettable show by my standards.

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)Ain't nothing like a Dirty Pair marathon on New Year's Eve.
2)I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.
3) I'd make an acceptable Mrs. Orton.

-Jazz/Molly vs. Trish/Lita- So Molly and Jazz are now on the same page. The heels wear down on Lita, working on her arm. Trish gets the tag and hits the Theze Press, Matrix (wouldn't Dodge Stratus be more clever for that move, get it) and the Spinebuster. Lita takes Molly out over the ropes, Trish overruns the neckbreaker but grabs a handful of hair and pulls Jazz down from it... Teddy throws his coat over Trish(ha okay I chuckled), Trish threw it back at him and gets rolled up for the 3. Kinda of a weak finish,. But I guess they didn't want to hit a major finish because Trish gets up and attacks Jazz and Teddy runs behind her and holds her for a Jazz attack but Jericho runs in and gets Teddy in the Walls until Mark Henry runs in and knocks Jericho out.

-Goldberg vs. Hardy- Hey it's Lita's ex-boyfriend, as JR calls him. Matt says it's no surprise since Austin become Sheriff Matt hasn't had TV time. Austin comes with his ATV(haha) and says Matt should be arrested for impersonating a wrestler(oh that's cold, zing!) Matt want's to wrestle someone he's never wrestled... Cue Goldberg with a beard, and unlike HHH a couple of weeks ago, Goldberg beard looks like it has some depth to it. Matt got a nice looking side-effect from the bottom rope but it was all Goldberg tossing Matt around and hitting him with all his fresh returning moves of powerslam, spear and jackhammer. Goldberg says he's IN the Royal Rumble

-Batista vs. Dvon- They pick Dvon to be the Dudley to do a singles match? No wait It's the Rev. Dvon vs. Choir Boy Batista(or whatever he was on SD). Dvon also has a beard. What the heck is going on here. Is this the South Park alternative universe halloween episode?... I'm not trying to ignore the match, okay maybe a little. Umm flying headbutt by Dvon, OVW hoss special the sit-down powerbomb by Batista. Heels bring a table in the ring but Bubba started knocking down the heels and get ready to put Flair threw it but Batista made the save and just tossed the table aside. I wondered "I bet they make a table match" (ding, ding I was right). Dudley's have table matches every PPV match there in.

-HHH/HBK interview-Ha not surprising I disagree with Gee & early on posters. I hated this segment, it' was one of the most boring long winded shitty chats ever. HHH says "Shawn, you were the best, there's no arguing. You were the best this company had. No one can beat you. But when you left, I became better & even more greater then you. HBK responds with "You were fantastic these four years, I can't deny it I was jealous. You carried WWE to great heights. But when I had the honor of beating you I was just a little more greater then your undeniable greatness". HHH replies "Yes you are still great, but I got a cheap shot in. I'm still pretty damn greater". What the Phuck is this? Jeesh guys just lay on the mat & 69 each other & get it over with... HHH says Many People think you should be world champion, many people think I should be World Champion. Are the folks HHH is referring to related to Many Backstage?

-Booker vs. Kane- Booker came out to his kickin WWE CD tune(on sale now!) and then got kickin with Kane with a bunch of variation of slow kicks. Finally Kane catches Booker and throws him to the outside and then throws Booker into the steps not once but twice (so Step throws are a 2 shot max before getting DQed?)... Kane finishes the onslaught by tombstoning Booker in the ring.

-Henry vs. Jericho-I thought Jericho was fantastic in this match, he was so on & made an 8-minute match with Mark Henry entertaining. Fans were a little lukewarm for him early(still don't think totally trust him, stupid bet. Long Island crowd is never the best) but at the end were totally behind him with "Lets go Jericho" & "You tapped out" to Henry. Y2J starts off with Henry chasing him & used his speed on Henry. Henry did pretty well on his rest holds & didn't seem to bore the crowd & actually worked the crowd to get behind Y2J. Nice variation of a dropkick by Y2J & ripped the extensions out of Henry's head when going for a bulldog from the ropes. Jazz interferes, Trish comes out & attacks Jazz. Ref gets distracted, get the girls out of the ring as Henry taps. Y2J breaks the Walls. Oh Great Henry totally gets up no selling it & lifts & drops Y2J for the pin & celebrates with no selling of the Walls at all. Err

-Orton v. RVD-Can one person be as undermined going into a main event match which he won a #1 contendership. Orton was only thinking Foley, announcers were only talking about Foley, the video of a limo was concentrating of Foley, we got Foley chants from the fans. Orton got the pin on RVD while the ref was knocked out. Then outsmarts RVD & gets the clean pin anyway. RVD really passed the torch to Orton after all those great years RVD had on top riight... Thought Orton was legit hurt early on when his head got rammed into the post, mostly because of RVD's stalling, Orton sold it good as well. An awesome spot RVD went flying over the turnbuckle into the rail. Went to the rest hold once too often & a botched spot by RVD, and odd reasoning for a ref bump which took 3 tries to hit. Nice match with some memorable spots, but not a great match & the Foley tease was dumb & took away from the match & especially RVD.

-OtherStuff- Of course the night Jericho finally gets some babyface acceptance after the "bet night" and seems like a legit face he runs off with Heel-Christian... Trish gets romance advice Miss Stable relationship Stacy Keibler... Ha Teddy Long calls Trish "Snow White" and wants Mark Henry to get his frustrations on Whitey Jericho...WWE continues to get lazy with loopholes and Austin claims Bischoff didn't get any paperwork down to deactivate Goldberg(not even trying)...

Couple of Foley is a coward and Orton calling out Foley, ignoring the main event match he's actually in... Evolution in the parking lot dressed to the nines. Batista's got a queer eye with his scarf. Guilty pleasure for now is Austin riding around in his ATV, like some crazy old man all over the arena... Little side note, both Y2J and Trish did CD signings at a record store right after Raw, which is kinda funny considering how the on air story of them just missing eachother and Jericho's night on the town.

-Line of the Night: Teddy "That little Snow White, Trish"
-Sign of the Night: "Lillian is Raw"
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Jericho. 2)RVD. 3)Orton.

There trying to be too cute with this Jericho thing, everytime he seems to be getting a solid face reaction they pull back. Happened with the mixed-tag/bet might, and again tonight. I don't know how they want the fans to react to him and how much they expect fans to keep getting twisted around before they just don't care. It's an interesting story, just don't know if it works in a wrestling sense in keep twisting it around... I thought Raw was overall better then it has been. The last two matches were solid. Some good backstage stuff. I'd put the first hour down as average. The only thing I found really bad was that long boring interview between HHH/HBK and Kane/Booker. Also noticed just one babyface (Goldberg) won the entire night (not including Booker T DQ win but he was destroyed afterwards so don't really count that)

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is on ORANGE alert - High (Due to Bob Holly WWE Title match, Kliq/Kliq PPV World Title match, Mae Young appearance) 1/6

Get your WWE CD copy autographed by Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and Lilian Garcia after Raw... Oh MY! Christmas has come late. Can't get better then that.

So let Goldberg squash someone who doesn't have as much potential to become a major player as Hardy does. They could just have easily put Christian in that position with the same results, except Christian wouldn't have been hurt by being squashed by Goldberg. Matt Hardy, on the other hand, could easily be one of the top wrestlers in the company if the WWE wasn't doing everything possible to prevent it from happening.

I'd say it's pretty obvious there's only one way left to save the Foley angle while appeasing the fans:

A fake Foley.

Orton needs to bring out a FAKE Foley, then the REAL Foley can come out and feud with his imposter. We just have to make sure the imposter is fatter and shorter than the REAL Foley, so us dumb fans don't get confoosed.

This has to work. It worked for Diesel and Razor Ramon, didn't it? Oh... wait...

Can RAW's writing team get any worse? Yes, yes it can.

That's a great idea for the return of Will Sasso. Hey, he's done The Rock and Austin, I bet he could pull off Foley.

Dennis Knight a/k/a Mideon did an EXCELLENT Foley impersonation during the HHH/Cactus feud of 2000. They could always bring him in.
I'm pretty surprised to see posters here aren't all that pissed that they didn't deliver Foley after two hours of hype in his hometown. I guess we've all come to expect WWE not delivering anymore.

It certainly took a lot of effort to get Goldberg over. Other wrestlers have gotten themselves over with the crowd, yet get nothing. The WWE could get a lot more for it's efforts if it pushed RVD, Matt Hardy, or Booker T the way they've pushed Goldberg.

Maybe I'm a bit biased. I never saw any point to Goldberg.

What effort did they really put into a Goldberg push? People were calling for him since Vince bought the company. (not, me, I dont like him) But, he has pretty much delivered and like it or not, all the crying about him squashing Matt Hardy is pointless, there is no way Matt could beat Goldberg, so why even cry about it?

Remember how dumb it looked when HHH sold "power" moves from Jeff Hardy? Everybody was pissing themselves about how HHH was finally "putting people over" yet, it really did nothing for either in the long run.

BTW, I also was wondering if that was Jeff Hardy. Perhaps he stole HHHs Roids, and thats why he is big, and HHH is getting fat.

Bravo, good show IMO.

I somehow think that Jericho and Trish will NOT be together at the end of the angle, either by Jericho winning another bet with Christian (which would kick all kinds of ass) or Christian stealing Trish. It'll boil down to a Jericho/Christian feud inevitably.

So I wonder if the reason that they didn't air Matt's entrance was to not show the amount of pops he got ...

Anyone else think that?
