Being a Maven fan, was troubled to read this...

Courtesy of Maven's official website, at www.mavenhuffman.com...

Some fans might be wondering why we haven't seen Tough Enough 1 winner Maven on WWE TV for the past few weeks. Well, the reason for his absence was posted on his official website, Mavenhuffman.com, yesterday:

"Dear Maven fans,

Maven's mother, Sherma, is currently battling cancer as she has for years. Unfortunately this disease has spread internaly. As a show of strength and will, just as her son shows in the ring, Maven's mother has continued to fight this disease and fight the odds. However, because the disease has spread, the current condition has become critical and Maven's mother is in the hospital as you read this. Due to this, Maven has taken time off from WWE televised and house show events, with the companys blessing, to spend time with his mother in this tough time. We have all learned of Maven's reziliance in the ring and we certainly know that his mother carries the same.

Mavenhuffman.com asks for all of your prayers in this tough and difficult time and ask you to send your wishes to Maven. To email Maven, write to Fanmail@MavenHuffman.com and send out a prayer tonight for his mother and their family."

---

Man, that's rough...I really don't know what to say. Kudos to the WWE for giving him the time off, and kudos to Maven himself for being so strong.

Lordy lordy...what have I done? Engagement? The horror!

I have always been a fan of Maven.

I hope he and his mother get through this tough time.

That's a shame about Maven's mom, as well as him. I think the company was just starting to get behind him (although I don't think he'll go that far without a signature finisher).

Methinks that Maven's downtime has had an adverse effect on Matt Hardy; it looked like the E set to put the two in a meaningful program...

Here's hoping the WWE does something productive with Maven when he gets back. I'd kill to see what he could do as a heel. In any event, I was enjoying his angle with Jindrak, Cade and himself versus Evolution.
