I liked WM X, I liked The ROyal Rumble 92 when Flair won.. I liked the WM that had Benoit/Angle on it.
For WCW, the WCW vs New Japan PPV was fantastic. I also liked the Wargames where sting deserted team WCW. That was a pretty good match, and had an AMAZING benoit vs Jericho match, and a great Rey Jr vs Super Calo match.
1. Wrestlemania 3- Picked because of Hogan/Andre and Steamboat/Savage.
2. Wrestlemania X-7- Hot crowd and great matches.
3. Survivor Series 1998- The PPV with the greatest overall storylines and swerves.
4. ECW Barely Legal- ECW gets put on the map, and it's all downhill from here.
5. Summerslam 91- A mark's fantasy show, with almost all faces going over (including VIRGIL).
6. Royal Rumble 2000- Greatest overall Rumble show.
7. Royal Rumble 1992- For Ric Flair's performance alone.
8. WCW Bash At The Beach 1996- Good PPV overshadowed by famous Hogan turn.
9. Heroes of Wrestling- Just seeing if you're paying attention.
10. IYH: Canadian Stampede- Not one bad match on this card, with an amazingly hot main event.
Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!

WHOA, its one thing to say heroes of wrestling, its another to say rumble 00. Thats the night mae young exposed her wrinkled old puppies, that ruined the whole show, even Jack and Trips couldnt save that
My first thought was ECW's Barely Legal show. It was their first PPV, and my first exposure to them. I couldn't believe the stuff I was seeing on my television screen.
SummerSlam 1990. Hart Foundation/Demolition 2/3 falls w/ Legion of Doom "distraction," Mr. Perfect/Kerry Von Erich for the IC belt, Rude/Warrior in the old blue cage for the WWF title, Brother Love interviews Iraqi-lovin' Sgt. Slaughter, Hogan/Earthquake (God, I marked out for that), DiBiase reveals he's the one sending Sapphire all the goodies, turning her heel on Polkadot Dusty Rhodes...
...kinda awful, if you think about it, but I loved the whole show. Anybody got a sledgehammer they can apply to my head?
(EDIT: Forgot WWF No Way Out 2002 in Milwaukee. I was there...to see Hogan, Hall and Nash walk back in. nWo intro on a WWF PPV...my head exploded.)

My favorite's No Way Out '01, personally. You've got Austin/Trip "Three Stages of Hell", Angle/Rock, and the oft-forgotten match between Steph and Trish (still my personal favorite women's match). Maybe the historical significance doesn't compare to X-7 a month later, but damn, I just love pretty much everything on that show.

I tend to go for shows that feel like they're really important. A good atmosphere and the impression that what I'm watching really matters can overcome some shortcomings in the match quality. Nostalgia's also a big factor for me, and with that in mind, I'll take (in no particular order):
WrestleMania X7 Survivor Series '01 Bash at the Beach '96 WrestleMania III WrestleMania IV (Demolition's title win is still one of my biggest markout moments) HeatWave '98 (first exposure to ECW and I was blown away) IYH Canadian Stampede The first 25 minutes of WrestleMania X SuperBrawl II (watch it and disagree with me) SummerSlam '00
Modern-day, I think Wrestlemania X-7 was the strongest.
But I always got a kick out of Wrestlemania VI. Jake vs. Dibiase for the Million Dollar Belt (and the sweet Jake promo leading up to it), Demolition beats the Colossal Connection for the tag belts and Andre turns face. And even though it's anathema to my current smarkiness, I marked out HARD when Brutus Beefcake ended Mr. Perfect's streak.
Plus Warrior beats Hogan for the belt and says, "I'm going to Disneyland, where the gods will rain fire on the teacup rides with the almighty power of Jupiter and Saturn and the cosmic collosalness of the Warriors will reign supreme! *snarl* Always believe!"

Nobody has mentioned what is, IMHO, the GREATEST PPV of all time. Great American Bash '89.
- Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk for the World Heavyweight Championship. This was Flair's return after Funk put him out for a while with his attack after Flair beat Steamboat for the title.
- Sting vs. The Great Muta for the World TV title. This was the final match in the tournament for the TV title. Muta was probably the hottest heel in the company (and undefeated at the time, if I remember correctly). Sting was probably the hottest babyface at the time.
- Ricky Steamboat vs. Lex Luger for the U.S. Championship. This is probably Lex Luger's best match ever (other than his participation in WarGames matches as a member of the Four Horsemen)
WarGames match with the Midnight Express, Road Warriors, and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. The Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, and Jimmy Garvin), and the Samoan Swat Team.
And, a pretty good Texas Tornado match with the Steiner Bros. (when Scott Steiner was very good) vs. Kevin Sullivan and Mike Rotundo
Gotta go with the Calgary IYH. May have been better cards, but never anything as surreal as watching the team that had been built as the ultimate heels for months being nothing short of worshipped by the crowd.
Another one of my favorites is generally considered the worst PPV of all time, which was the first Hardcore Heaven PPV (ECW's second pay show). Came out awful on TV, but live we were oblivious to how the lighting looked or any of the God-awful "Sandman in the ambulance" crap.

Besides Calgary IYH, it's gotta be Fully Loaded 2000. Jericho/HHH and Rock/Benoit were both amazing, and the undercard was surprisingly awesome too. Just a great show.
1.) SummerSlam 1990- My first exposure to PPV and also the first videotape in my now HYOOGE collection. Not great, in-ring wise (aside from an excellent Demolition/Hart Foundation match), but a fun show overall, and I've watched the damn show more times than most people have probably watched episodes of RAW.
2.) WrestleMania x-seven- Probably the greatest pro-wrestling show I've ever seen. Excellent atmosphere, excellent matches, excellent everything! I don't know if this show will ever be topped.
3.) Spring Stampede 1999- The last great show WCW produced. Had some really awesome matches in Guerrera/Blitzkreig and Benoit & Malenko/Raven & Saturn. Great show.
4.) Barely Legal 1997- A culmination of so many storylines, and the end of an AWESOME period that ECW had in 1995 through this show. Plus, has one of my all-time favorite matches from that promotion in the 6-man Michinoku-pro match.
5.) Great American Bash 1989- The second half of that show is one of the greatest showcases of wrestling I've ever seen with Sting/Muta, Steamboat/Luger, and Flair/Funk.
6.) WrestleMania X- While a lot of the show is pretty sub-par stuff, the Owen/Bret match and the Michaels/Ramon match make this one of my all time favorites.
7.) SummerSlam 92- Like WrestleMania X, a lot of standard stuff on this one, but Warrior/Savage and Bulldog/Bret are just SO awesome, it's turned into one of my favorite shows ever. Plus, I love, love, LOVE the outdoor atmosphere!
8.) No Way Out 2001- A really overlooked PPV, but was my favorite show ever for a month, until WrestleMania x-seven topped it. Triple H/Austin, Rock/Angle, Benoit/X-Pac/Guerrero/Jericho, and a SHOCKINGLY good Stephanie/Trish match make this a top-pick of mine.
9.) Living Dangerously 1999- A dark-horse pick, this has always stood out as a favorite of mine. Not sure exactly why, but it's a show that I can put in the VCR at any time and still enjoy. Plus, it has my all-time favorite ECW match in the first ever Van Dam v. Lynn match.
10.) Canadian Stampede 1997- Just an awesome show from top-to-bottom. Four matches, all excellent. Hell, the worst match on the show was ***1/2. Now THAT'S a show!
HM.) Fall Brawl 1997- Another dark-horse pick, this PPV is really overlooked and forgotten about, but I've always been drawn to it. It also has a favorite match of mine in Guerrero/Jericho (which is an overlooked ****1/2 match). Plus, it was the first PPV I'd ever attended live, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Other shows that I loved, but weren't on PPV are November to Remember 1995 (VERY entertaining show) and Clash of the Champions VI (My favorite Flair/Steamboat match, EVER!).
My top five: WrestleMania X-7 SummerSlam 1990 Great American Bash 1989 Royal Rumble 1989 Royal Rumble 1992
Honorable mentions to shows I was at live: WM 6 and X-8; WWF In Your House Breakdown and WCW Mayhem -- all were decent shows seemingly made better because I was actually there.

I just want to throw in some other notable PPV's no one's mentioned yet.
WWF/E:
Judgement Day 2000-HHH and the Rock have their historic 60 minute Iron Man match, the second time one was ever broadcast for the WWF. Plus the submission match between Jericho and Benoit for the IC title.
Royal Rumble 2001-The tremendous ladder match between Jericho and Benoit for the IC title. The Dudleyz beat Edge and Christian for the tag titles in a very good opener. Angle and HHH have their best match for the world title despite a screwy finish. Also a tremendous rumble match.
Summerslam 2001-Another great Summerslam card. If I remember correctly almost every match on this card was pretty good, and I think the one stinker was the crappy cage match with taker/kane against kanyon/ddp.
Summerlam 2002-this was probably the best PPV of that year. Probably most notable for Brock Lesnar's first world title win over the Rock and where the crowd at the Nassau coliseum boos the face world champion Rock out of the building. A lot of other great matches on this card too like Shawn Michaels return street fight against HHH, Edge/Guerrero, Angle/Mysterio, and Benoit/RVD.
Wrestlemania XIX-A great match with Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels even though the wrong man won. Lesnar beats Angle for his second world title in a great match.
WCW:
Beach Blast 1992-C'mon people, Sting and Cactus Jack! How many other ppv matches did Sting and Cactus Jack have?
Superbrawl VIII-Sting defeats Hogan for the world title, Benoit and DDP in a great US title match, Booker T in 2 great matches in a row against Rick Martel and Saturn, and Jericho vs. Juvi.
Uncensored 1998-Booker T vs. Eddy for the TV title. Jericho cleanly defeats and humiliates Dean Malenko causing him to go on a sabbatical, and a great string of skits by the Lionheart, "I WANNA GO HOME!!!" Also an amazing three way hardcore match with Benoit, Raven, and DDP
"Just a humble bounty hunter, ma'am." -Spike Spiegel
-Royal Rumble 2000: First notable Dudley/Hardy match, a kick-ass Rumble & a classic Cactus Jack/HHH main event. -No Way Out 2000: Hell In A Cell, the Radicalz debut on PPV, Jericho/Angle...so many good matches. -Backlash 2000: Malenko & Scotty 2 Hotty put on a clinic, and there's nary a bad match to be found! Plus, Benoit/Jericho for the first time on WWF PPV! -Judgment Day 2000: Iron Man Match & Benoit/Jericho Submissions Match! -WrestleMania III: Classic. -WrestleMania X: Hart/Hart, the Ladder Match, and Bret regains the title.

I have a soft spot for WrestleWar '92, with a Zenk-Pillman match (in which Flyin' Brian teases us with a show of his oh-so-great-in-the-future-heelishness), the Steiners vs. Tatsumi Fujinami & Tatyuki (sp?) Iizuka that basically amounted to the Steiners kicking ass like only they could, and an AWESOME WarGames with the Dangerous Alliance vs. Sting's Squadron, that SK rated the best WCW match of the '90s, back before he started to hate everything all the time.

I liked the No Way Out which saw the WWF debut of the nWo.
Also, I can't recall the name of the PPV, but the one that saw Hogan turn heel and join the original nWo. That was a great show. I have it on video somewhere...
Well, so far(since I still have a lot to see)... -Summerslam '99, mostly because it was my first PPV ever. E & C put a great performance, although ended up losing to the friggin APA. But they solidified me as a fan. -WM17. Quite an overlooked one here, I see. TLC was amazing and the card had an awesome atmoshphere. Huge improvement from WM16-which was my first. -Royal Rumble '01. Insanely entertaining rumble. -Backlash '00. Remember going to bed an extremely marked out 16/17ish mark. -no Way out '02. More mark-ism from a slightly more knowledgeable mark. -Summerslam '02. Awesome(Brock's win aside). HBK mark-ism. -Survivor Series '03. Shockingly good PPV for the year. -WM19. Great for the wrestling and the mark-ism--from an even MORE knowledgeable mark..alright sorry thats enough.
-WM12. Diesel, HBK, Bret, and Taker--My faves at their peak. -WM3. -WM6. -WM8. -WM10.
This might have been the best match on ECW since Vince McMahon ordered a hardcore match between Sandman, Dreamer, RVD and Sabu. It's a shame it's been that long.
