Since the SD! show seems like it will be a wrestling show and not a "Best of.." show, why not nominate our favorite moments in 2003?
Best Match: Lesnar vs Angle in the cage...best match I have ever seen on free TV and the day after Angle's sister died?!?!?!
Best Skit: Cena doing the battlerap against Big Show, who didn't mark out when he totally ranked the big show, then kicked him in the balls yelling outside you can't see this...I laughed for about 15 minutes after that segment
“I don’t feel bad at all about keeping the scholarship. I have studied hard my whole life (earning a 3.8 GPA at Yorktown). I am captain of the academic team, student council secretary, member of the chess club, and play the flute in the marching band and all I was looking at was getting a lousy couple thousand dollars of my school paid for with academic scholarships. The other Jason gets a 2.5 GPA and the NCAA minimum score on his SAT and he gets a full ride because he can run fast and put a stupid orange ball in a hoop. It looks like Coach Keady is going to be stuck with me for four years.”---Jason Smith, a kid who signed a letter of intent to Purdue that was meant for another Jason Smith in his school (who is the basketball star of the school)

I think that the Ironman match was the match the actually took place the day after Kurt's sister died.
For me, I think my favorite Smackdown match of 2003 was the Matt Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio match in which Rey won the title ... I knew the outcome, but I was still on the edge of my seat.

Actually, my favourite moment was probably the ascension of Eddie Guerrero with the cheating gimmick. It was pretty wild to watch him run with the ball. The fact that it meant nothing in the end doesn't negate that.
My favourite match was probably the Angle-Undertaker WWE title match. A really underrated match. It was much better than the Iron Man match or the Lesnar-Benoit match, IMO.
And plus the rap from the match itself a couple weeks later gave me a running joke in PPV chats every time Brock made his entrance. God build him strong, forget to give him brain.
-The clip from the Benoit-Angle match (from February I think?) where Benoit was hardwayed above the eye. There may have been no cooler visual than Benoit giving the throat slash at that same moment blood was squiting from over his eye.
-"You remember Wisconsin, right? GREAT PIE"
-The Cena/Spanky/Brian Hebner doing a beatbox rap-off
-And to sum the last thing up up in two words, LOW-RIDER~~~~~~

D'oh..you are 100% correct about that...that was the match I meant, my apologies :)

Hands down, the best Smackdown moment for me was the Cena vs. Spanky rap battle where the ref does the out-of-the blue beatbox. ( Coincidentally, the best sitcom moment involved a young intern doing a beatbox on "Scrubs", "What the hell are you doing?" "It's a beatbox, sir")
Honorable mention goes to the awesome Kurt Angle "Clocks" video.
As far as match, I really enjoyed the recent Brock vs. Benoit match. I liked Angle vs. Mysterio (was that 2003? 2002?)

Or also from Scrubs for a 2003 moment there was:
Turk: Plus, now there's no bachelor party; and you being the Best Man, I _know_ you woulda hooked it up!
J.D. stops in his tracks.
[SCORE: "Sex Machine" by James Brown]
***Fantasy: Fred "Rerun" Berry is back in his outfit. Now he's leading a whole group of guys in similar outfits -- J.D., Turk, Doug, The Todd -- all the guys who would have been at that totally awesome bachelor party.
Rerun: All right, guys! Let's make it happen!
Again, to "Sex Machine", they all do the "Rerun Dance."
"There may have been no cooler visual than Benoit giving the throat slash at that same moment blood was squiting from over his eye."
Yes yes yes yes yes.
"I liked Angle vs. Mysterio (was that 2003? 2002?)"
There was one in September 02 (Billy & Chuck wedding) and one in late January. The Jan. one had this awesome finish described by the Cubs Fan as such: "West Coast Pop? Caught, Rey blocks the powerbomb and spins around to Victory Roll position, so Angle drops him face first on the corner and falls back into an Electric Chair suplex on the rebound, rolling to a double leg hook cover one two three."
Taker/Angle was awesome, probably even better than UT/Brock HIAC.
Other good matches from this year:
Edge & Benoit vs. Angle & Team Angle (Jan) Rey vs. Angle (Jan) Guerreros vs. Team Angle (Feb) Benoit/Rhyno vs. Team Angle (Mar) Eddie/Tajiri vs. Team Angle (three times in May-July I think) Rey vs. Tajiri (at least twice in Sep-Oct)
man, there were so many good moments on SD! this year...
1) The Al Wilson saga - it was quite an epic to behold 2) The well-deserved push of A Train - a technical marvel finally gets his time in the spotlight 3) Zach Gowen wearing an earring in his right ear
all cynicism aside, i think my favorite moment was already mentioned...Eddie Guerrero's hometown promo about his family lying, cheating and stealing and Grandma Guerrero and the pop he got was awesome.
I'm surprised I'm the first to mention it: Eddie and Edge's brutal ladder match. The one where the crowd gave Eddie a standing O even though at that point he was as heel-ish as any point this year. Probably my favorite non-PPV match this year.
My turntables might wobble but they don't fall down.
When Guerrero pinned Piper in MSG and we never had to see Piper's pasty delirious ass again. That was a highlight.
But my Smackdown Moment of 2003 was the Smackdown in El Paso where Eddy Guerrero arrived to a hero's welcome and the ensuing promo battle between him and John Cena. That feud could have brought both of them up a notch but instead it was promptly dropped in favor of the Shit Feud.
Honorable mention goes to John Cena's rap where he said that the tattoo on Lesnar's back was his mother.
My favorite Smackdown Match of 2003 would have to be either Brock Lesnar versus Chris Benoit from a few weeks ago or Team Angle vs Los Guerreros from Feb 6, 2003. There was also a very good Haas/Benjamin vs Rey/Kidman match in August from that aborted program.

I forget, when did Eddie and Edge have a ladder match in 2003? I think you are thinking of that no holds barred match they had in the fall of 2002 to cap off their feud. I don't think it was a ladder match though.
