Has anybody else played this game? I got it for Christmas one or two years ago.

I'm never quite sure how to feel about it. I ENJOY the game, I think. It's very tedious. Levelling up is a time-consuming process, and the class-building is equally time-consuming.

The plot is oddly...slow. You run around and find stone shards that you put together and warp to the past.

Right now I'm at a point where I've had to save a town no less than twice, and both times I've returned to the present to find it no less than utterly wiped out. How frustrating!

It's not quite clear what solving these little island problems (thereby causing them to appear in the present) actually DOES, short of allowing you to get your hands on more shards and more islands. I assume that I'll find out when I run out of islands to rescue.

There's a fun side-quest where you found your own town, and find people to live in it. Also there's a monster park, to let the monsters you catch play in. Whee!

For anyone who's ever said that graphics don't matter in the face of gameplay, hoo boy is this the game for you. The graphics look like they belong in a 16-bit game, with sounds which were apparently preserved from the original Dragon Warrior for the NES.

The monsters have nice animations, though.
I can go without playing this game for half a year at a time and not worry about what's going to happen next.

Oh, the characters were designed by the same artist who drew most of Chrono Trigger and Dragonball, in case that tickles your fancy.

I had this game a few years ago, and you are dead-on when you say it is slow. God, it is easily the most unrewarding and tedious game I've ever fucking played. I got bored 70+ hours into it, after dozens of hours spent leveling and class building, with still no ending in sight.

I thouroughly enjoyed Dragon Warrior VII (for the PS1), but I'm one of those sickos who doesn't mind putting in 130-140 hours to beat it... which is what I did. It took me over a month to do it, but BAH GAWD when I was done, was I ever happy.

Plus, I'm a huge Dragon Warrior fanboy. I've probably gone through Dragon Warrior III about ten times from beginning to end over the 11 years I've had it.

So I finished the game.
Those hoping for an interesting plot to suddenly spring up in the middle of the ending will be sadly disappointed.

And at the massive amount of mispellings and typos found in the game, one wonders if anybody actually bothered to check the sentences for missing letters and repeated phrases sentences for missing letters and repeated phrases.

However, if you want to inflict hours of punishment disguised as gameplay upon yourself, by all means, get this game.
