Evolution is on the stage, HHH in a navyblue suit with red handy and white shirt (top three buttons undone), the World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder, talking, Randy, in a tan shirt and black pants, the IC Title over his shoulder, Flair in grey suit and white shirt, the Tag Title over his shoulder, and Batista in red shirt and black pants, the Tag Title over his shoulder. We will learn to like their "golden rule", sez HHH.

Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, because it is time to WAKE UP! It's Raw, live from Tampa, FL...and a Fashion Report, too!

Trish, in black/red sparkly trenchcoat and sparkly red suit, and Lita (with new entrance video), in pink tankop with green mesh back and sleeves and green short shorts, vs. Christian!, in black tights with pink "C"s on white crests, and Jericho, in black tights with blue/silver bolts. If you paid for it, you're a sucker. Fuckit, announcers, "CLB" is NOT getting over. Charles Robinson is the official, in the official official's black and white striped shirt. Jericho wants no part of Trish. Um, Jericho asks the ref to end the match (and he does)?

Post-match, Bisch, in black suit and mustard-yellow shirt, is out to be a heel. Jericho is angry at Bisch, so Bisch books Jericho vs. Kane (is coffee involved?), then he calls-out Mick. But Adbreak comes out instead!

Mick eventually comes out, in a black suit, white shirt and black tie. Mick talks about Austin. Bisch retorts with FOOTAGE! of Mick's career. Bisch proposes Mick vs. Orton (acting as Bisch's champion); the loser of said match leaves his GM position. Mick demands that Hebner be the official, Evolution be barred from ringside, and Bisch be barred from ringside. Oh, and it's for the IC Title. Book a match! Too much blab. (Silly Bisch, just have some other heels interfere!)

BookerT, in white hot-crotch flamin' "BookerT" undies, and Maven, in black "M" fullcuts, with FOOTAGE!, vs. Mark Henry, in red "Mark Henry" singlet, with Teddy Long, in black pinstriped suit and red shirt, and Mattitude, in black/red pants and jacket. Sign: "IM (sic) NOT HERE" - ummm.... Scissors Kick -> pin on Mattitude. An average match.

In the back, Coach stands by Goldberg's door.

Coach, still in the back, tries to interview Goldberg, but gets his ass kicked instead.

La Resistance, in BLUE "La Resistance" undies, Rob carrying the French Flag, is out to talk. But Goldberg, in black fullcuts with white trim and barbedwire butt, is out to kick their jobber ass and desecrate the French Flag, before waving the US flag around. Bisch, then, comes out to "deactivate" Goldberg of 30 days.

Good Lord, JR, shut your squawk box!

In the back, Mick talks to Shawn, asking him for advice about un-retireing.

FOOTAGE! of Clinton Portis and his belt.

Rob, in black "RVD" singlet with yingyang floating over a sea of molten lava, and Shawn, in black cut-up "The Source of Strength" tshirt (with "HBK" shield), and mirror-studded leather chaps over black "Shawn Michaels HBK" tights with sundered hearts, vs. HHH, in black iron-cross undies, wearing the Title, Batista, in black undies with red arcing flame, carrying the Title, and Flair, in blue "Nature Boy" silver-sequined robe over black "RF" undies, wearing the Title. Mike Chioda is the referee. Shawn starts in control, but the numbers are too much. Eventually RVD totally kicks Chioda's ass, and is in the Figure Four. Adbreak makes a sudden run-in.

Rob is still in trouble. Shawn gets the hot tag and cleans up. Rob off the top rope to the outside, and everyone is down. Chioda counts to nine, but HHH is up and goes for the pedigree. Michaels reverses it and hits Sweet Chin Music, for the pin. A good match.

Rico (oh frick), in turquoise/black singlet and facepaint, with Jackie, in black/blue bikini top and holey tights, vs. Jon Heidenreich, in red fullcuts. Charles Robinson is the referee. Rico is "unorthodox"; Jon is "aggressive" (JR says "unskilled", too); the crowd calls this "boring". Finally, Rico gets a neckbreaker for the pin.

Jericho knocks on the "Womens Locker Room" door to check on Trish. Oh, so you bleep "asshole" but not "bitch"? Meanwhile, Kane is stalking.

Jericho, in same as before, with FOOTAGE! of the opening match, vs. Kane, in black tights with red stripes. Lillian's in a shoulder-baring purple/white shirt (with cuffs that go all the way down!) and black skirt. So, Jericho SHOULD be the face, right? But the recent false-turn keeps the crowd wary. Lawler is actually doing a better job than JR for this match. Jericho with the chairshot -> DQ. Post-match beatdown by Kane. Then Christian! comes out to help, NOT! Instead he pushes Jericho down, just like Jericho had done to him in the earlier match.

FOOTAGE! of WWE and the troops. Hey, here's troops in the arena!

In the back, Bisch counsels with Randy. Randy gets motivated.

Mick walks through the back, getting encouragement from all the faces.

Randy, in red "Orton" undies, with red hip scrawling, wearing the IC Title, vs. Mick, in black Mankind-mask-wearing-yellow-smileyface, the sleeveless old red flannel, and black sweatpants. Um...or not. 'Cuz Mick just walks away.

Overall: Good Lord, but the announce team was annoying this evening. If they were this bad last night, I can understand why everyone was so upset. I couldn't even count how many times I wish I could reach through my TV and punch those two squarely in the face. Still, the SHOW, itself, was a good effort (although the ending was a "WTF?" moment). Yeah, a 2-minute overrun.

(Anyone there live who could give us some end-of-show info?)

I really was WTF. I don't get it, why book Mick like that? They brought him back for three weeks for what, not to take bumps like a champ as he has done his entire career, but instead to turn and run, even after being called a coward?

This doesn't help Orton as much as a beatdown would have, and it's terribly bad looking for Mick. While I guess Mick one guy that you can't really bury, this sure went a long way to ruin what he stood for.

For the life of me, I can't think of anywhere this is going that can justify the booking. Eric practically nailed the coffin shut with his gloating at the end...why WWE? Why?

That was one interesting way to end the show. Actually, it was pretty much the ONLY thing interesting about the show, save for maybe HHH getting pinned. But I'm going to take a guess that the direction they're going is Foley will look for some inspiration...in a certain demented character of the past...or something...

I was ready to turn off the program as soon as Bischoff made the proposal. I am so sick of the “let’s throw the whole future of the company into one match” gimmick. Absolutely sick of it. It’s absurd. How about I walked into my CEO’s office tomorrow, tell him how sick I am of his way of running the company, and demand that he and I fight for the CEO title. Yeah, right.

Remember when the primary focus of wrestling shows was about guys wanting to beat the crap out of each other, as opposed to being about general managers fighting over what makes good TV?

I wasn’t terribly impressed with the show overall. I don’t want to see Jericho as a face. He’s such an awesome heel that it’s like handicapping him. It was certainly surprising to see HHH get pinned, even by Michaels. Pretty much everything else was filler.

The one thing that jumped out at me during the Foley tribute piece was how much Vince has aged in the past five years.

Holy crap. Was that a “Millipede” on the end of that arcade game row?

Eh.

That ending tears me into two different directions ... one says, wow, they spent all that time building it up and BAM .. nothing ... on the other hand, it makes you (well, me anyway) sympathize with Mick in a "wow I feel for the guy" kinda way ... But, we all know Mick's not going out like that.

Bottom line ... I think it sets up Foley vs. Orton at WM XX ...

Rest of the show, ehh ... Just waiting for the full-fledged Jericho face turn ... Jericho could be the top babyface in the company if he's not buried (AGAIN) by Triplution.

Really, had they put the "Mick walking away" bit in the middle of the show, it wouldn't have been that onerous. I mean, they could have but the 3-on-2 match in the Main Event and it would've been perfectly acceptable. Maybe the writers thought the crowd would've reacted differently.

The abrupt Adbreaks and only 2-minute overrun are just production no-nos.

When Foley first left, I thought we were gonna hear Cactus Jack's old music fire up, but that ending was just...there. I don't understand it, but it's grabbed my attention. It'll be interesting to see what they do next week.

With Shawn getting a title shot in two weeks, will he job clean and build somebody for Rumble or job shadily and then job at Rumble?

Well the ending was kinda sucky I guess but who knows. maybe he and Vince had a falling out or something. I wasn't really paying attention at the first of that, did the match officialy start? Like it really means anything of course. Heck we got replays when it is appropiate and rules sometimes. Of course it is either that or they have enough signatures on the petition to bring Austin back. That would work, then he can whip all of Evolution at once LOL!!!!

Although I am not a big Randy Orton fan you do have to admire the fact that he won the title in a fair match last night ( imagine that in the WWE...)He has come along way in a short time although I don't think he has paid his dues as they say. Here he is as a main eventer and we have Test and Steiner among others sho have been there and put in the time.

As for evolution, it gets real old watching any of them as they are all gonna be in the ring anyway, predictable and boring.

Raw Thoughts:

The girls v.s the guys AGAIN, not as good as last night though. I'm glad I watched the PPV at a bar and didn't pay $34.95 to see the angle play out on RAW for free....Jericho is a good face, but I think he's a better heel....As with everyone else, I'm sick of the "man in charge" angles and the "banned forever" angles, only to come back in a month or two. I mean, how many times can you beat a dead horse. And did this angle really NEED another Foley video package?....Booker/Maven v.s Henry/Matt was an odd mix of styles. Why did Hardy job?....The La Resistance/Goldberg angle wouldn't have played out if we hadn't caught Sadaam. So much for the rub the frenchmen got from the Rock....

I liked Shawn's promo to Foley backstage....The handicap match was good, save for RVD's constant kicks, half which didn't connect. Not a big fan of him....I'm not looking forward to ANOTHER Trips/Michaels match....I think that when you can't even bounce off the ropes correctly, it's time to hang it up Ric....Rico v.s Jon Heidenreich- the less said, the better....Jericho v.s Kane didn't mesh well. I like how Christian comes all the way out to the ring, just to simply push Jericho....Yes, I liked the ending. The whole thing with him walking around the ring trying to get pumped up was effective, though I thought the whole time he walked up the ramp that he'd turn around eventually. The spit in the face was icing on the cake. Really memorable ending.

You have to wonder, with the constant baits and switches, especially one of this magnitude, at what point do the viewers say "fuck this" and stop watching Raw? It's kind of obvious that it would have been an extremely stupid move to give away Foley's return match on free tv with absolutely no build up whatsoever, yet here they are telling fans to stay tuned because by gawd the hardcore legend is coming back and you don't want to miss it. Why do they feel the need to book themselves into a corner where they can't possibly deliver what the fans are expecting? I find the whole thing to be so pointlessly deflating and it doesn't increase my interest in Raw at all.

Well, I can barely watch the show anymore. I kept switching between RAW, and a re-run of Season 6 Buffy. SEASON SIX!!! Shit, even if I WANTED to watch season six episodes again, I could do it anytime off the DVDs and watch the live show instead so I didn't miss anything that might be cool. THAT'S how hard it was to watch tonight. The one thing that kept me tuning back once in a while (other than the Rock showing up, which they were nice enough to tell me that he wouldn't be there) was the thought of Mick Foley coming back for a quick match, then they just piss all over my hopes.

I missed Matt Hardy's enterance. Can someone tell me if he came out to the Mattitude Enterance Video, or was it the "we don't *want* a reaction for this wrestler" enterance he had during his debut? Dammit, I think tonight proved that RAW is totally and completely incapable of getting people over. Especially with Jim Ross and Lawler babbling on in total nonsense like two grumpy old men.

Worst part is that I'm SURE some people here are going to start justifying what they totally fucked up tonight by saying that they're *obviously* building towards Wrestlemania. At what point do we just admit that the WWE plain sucks at a Nitro-level now, and that this is the best they can muster?

Matt Hardy has his new opening screen video. Instead of opening with a WWE Search Engine it appears in a MS Dos format where is asks for a program and "Matt Hardy Version 1.0" enters, that insues his Mattitude Media Player(with spiffy new look) and matt facts.

Matt's new entrance is most definitely nifty. I also like the new text on the Matt Fact. There was only one. I wonder if that's because SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain only has one Matt Fact. Of course not; that would be continuity.

I may have figured the Mick Foley leavig thing. But maybe not, any ways here's my idea of WHY.....

1st part of the mystery is that back at the Bischoff/Foley confrontation at the beginning of the RAW show. Mick Foley said it himself, he was "He was thinking about making a return to the ring just to face Eric Bischoff in a match" Did that happen, HELL NO!! Bischoff weaseled his way out of it and appointed Randy Orton as his guy. Bischoof knew Mick in the stste he was in, couldn't win that match,. Mick knew this and played his only trump card....deck stacking by devil dealing. So Bischoff gave Mick some things he wanted, but not what he really wanted though, and that's Eric Bischoff. Even though that happened...Mick reluctantly accpeted the match, but then later realises that fact. And here's how....

The 2nd part of the mystery is in the inspiring and enlightening speech HBK gave Mick. Mick askes HBK TWO very important questions too.
One....."After the your return, did you get the urge to wrestle some more after that?" HBK said YES. Basically the wrestling bug rebit HBK and he's wrestling again and not staying retired like he said he would. Mick's a man of his word though and won't return unless his terms are met.
Two....."Was returning to the ring and punching Trips lights out worth it." HBK said YOU BET. This is very important to the puzzle too. Because Mick Foley wants to return and face Eric Bischoff in a match, not Orton. But Mick ain't gonna get that...is he. NOOOO!!

The third part brings it together....Mick walks out because His terms aren't met and he would be selling himself short and out, by getting beat up by Orton for the wrong reasons and for what?! NOTHING MUCH. He will return to that ring though, when ERIC BISCHOFF grows some balls and accept his challenge for a match. But until then, NO DEAL. Plus realised he wasn't in prime condition for a fight with Orton, but with ERIC, you bet he was. And even if Mick Foley returned tonight and won, his comeback is in vain. He wants Bischoff, but Bischoff is gone if he wins. So he would lose any way you sliced this dirty deal with the so-called RAW devil, that is Eric Bishoff.

And when you're in that situation, you can't win even if you stack the deck in you favor. Mick realised this and chose to walk out. Orton spitting on poor Mick wasn't important, because if fought back as plain old Mick Foley, he's get beat up AGAIN by Orton. So he ignored it and left. Mick looked like a coward and worm by doing this, but that's the chance you risk I get when get into a deal with a devil like Bischoff or Mr. McMahon.

That's how I see it, and that's my opinion though, agree with it or not. It's up to you.

I agree with everything talena696 just posted, except her preference for Britsh spelling. (I'd quote it, but it's long and I agree with all of it, so it'd be silly to repost the whole thing).

It really did seem like Mick was trying to get Bischoff to call of the match with all the stipulations he proposed. Unfortunately, Bischoff never backed down, so Mick couldn't put his plan to humiliate Bischoff into action.

I don't think silence was a good way to end the show, though. They had fove or six minutes left. Instead of leaving us with that "wuss out" ending, Foley should have explained himself or some wrestler should have come to his aid in the back and beat the crap out of Orton. Nothing says bad ass like... well, you know how it goes. Michaels or RVD would have been good choices. Even if Orton got the upper hand, it would have made the show much less anti-climactic.

Precisely. The guy is an absolute 'tard. He probably read on Wrestlezone or some other newz site that 2/21/11 could be about Sting and just reported it. I'd actually guarantee that is what he did.
