-SignGuy WWE Style- I don't really now how I feel about fans like this. It's sad to hear about his wife. He makes some funny signs and some not so funny signs. I wonder how many of his has been in my "prestigious" Sign of the Night for SD/Raw reviews.

-Eddie YJStiner- Gotta a question, do they have one director directing every single commercial with WWE superstars? Pretty much what is expected with an Eddie G coverboy commercial. Lots of mamacitas, low riders, a Mexican band. Eddie charm makes this from bad to watchable

-VGA Cutest Canadian Couple- In the pre-pre-pre VGA show Trish and Chris are backstage checking out some arcades. Ms. Pacman a win for feminism everywhere! Jericho teaches us the fun game or rickshaw, but taking it and trying to take people out, Old women 50Points, Old men Zero Points, but if you hit a goldfish 75Big Points!... Trish likes playing SD: HCTP. She plays against herself or as herself. She says she loves playing with herself,(what) as she tries to backtrack.

-Vault: Owen vs. Ramon- This time the showed the entire 7- minute plus match in this 9-minute segment. I didn't remember this match being this poor. There was some mistiming right off the bat... I did get a kick out of hearing Randy Savage voice. Art Donovan? he's commentating as well. That didn't last long. Neidhart interferes, Owen comes off the top with a flying elbow for the pin.

-Cena, Eddie, Haas & Benjamin overseas - Good thing Eddie and Haas are not traveling together. Haas & Benjamin dancing to Dancin' Santa was cute, ohh no Dancin' Santa! He'll fit right in with all the dancin guys on SD, Cat, Rikishi, Scotty2Hottie. The WGTT is causing some mischief in South Korea as they visit a shop dropped a souvenir into a bucket of water(shhh). Benjamin ate a silkworm and didn't like it at all(but the name sounds so appetizing), Haas didn't look like he had much sympathy... Onto Cena & Eddie. I'm getting really sleepy I thought that porcelain chef was real. Cena gives love to the security was funny, he's the guy from Chips! Next we have Eddie & Cena enjoy? some fine cuisine. As they are sitting at the table Cena did some not so funny play on words & talked about how uncomfortable it is to eat testies. Eddie just watches on making sure Cena takes the first bite, Cena's like Mikey he'll eat anything.

-Sign Guy Again- This time with Rhyno. Rhyno wants to see a sign, the guy shows "Rhyn-O-MITE", errr... Come on dude. How about Rhyno fears Long Island bikini contests.

Without a doubt NOT one of Confidential better showings especially coming off last weeks great 1996 show. The Trish/Chris stuff was fun, I'm a mark for both & them interacting is cute. The SignGuy stuff was boring me, the Eddie commercial was pretty paint by numbers. The overseas "There food is brutal" stuff has been done & was done by the same guy who was doing it this week. Cena an entertaining guy but his food trip with Matt wasn't that long ago. Haas/Benjamin were cool, we don't usually see them in this sort of environment so it was nice to see them out of ring. The Vault match with Owen-Razor wasn't eithers best showings, even though it was an important match in Owen's career... There was no 10 Questions which made me sad because usually delivers pretty well. Surprised with the Battle of the Sexes hype during the end of the show. Bradshaw surfing next week. Be There. Or not. Either or.

Watching Owen and Razor's KOTR'94 Final on Confidential brought back a painful memory: Art Donovan's commentary.

A couple of things did make it entertaining however:

Gorilla is obviously embarassed by Donavan's complete "befuddlement" of what he's seeing and blatantly ignores Art all evening.

The other thing that is perversely amusing is that Randy Savage manages to come off as not the worst color man ever, thanks to deer in headlights (audibly speaking) approach of Art.

For those who remember Savage as a good color man need look no further than Wrestlemania 9 for some of Macho's "best" work, including this great insight:

"The Mega-Maniacs are....The Mega-Maniacs!"

Sadly this is an actual call.

Good lord! I almost forgot about Art Donavan. The man must not have ever seen a professional wrestling match in his life, and they pick him, of all people, to commentate a ppv.

He must have asked "How much does that guy weigh" about fifty times. What I find funny is the noticable breaks in the commentary where they seemed to have turned the mic's off to tell Donavan to keep it down.

Celebrities and wrestling never mix. The only guy I can think of to do it and not make a complete embarassment out of himself and the show was Bob Uecker.

I KNOW you guys aren't picking on Art. This guy is absolutely one of the funniest men alive. He used to be on a local football show (he was a superstar for the Baltimore Colts in the 50's and 60's) that was required viewing. He especially had it out for Trent Dilfer. I remember him once going on like a 10 minute diatribe about how much of a pussy Dilfer was for throwing a weak block.

Granted, he wasn't on his game at King of the Ring. I think that Vince had seen his show and since King of the Ring was held locally, they signed him up to do commentary. Bad move.

He was still better than Rob Bartlett.

My favorite part of Art's commentary? Right after Owen's win, they go to a shot of the three of them at the announce table, and Gorilla and Savage are trying to get over the fact that the Anvil helped Bret keep the title earlier in the night only because he was working for Owen, and Owen wants to take the belt off Bret himself. Right in the middle of them talking, Art interrupts and says, "Let me ask you guys something, when you were wrestling, did you act this crazy?" Gorilla and Savage look at each other, both uncomfortable and embarrassed, then they go on talking about the Bret/Anvil/Owen angle, completely ignoring Art. Hilarious.
