I figure Vince dies of a heart attack after freaking out when Shane and Stephanie change his company the way that he went in a totally different direction from what Vince Sr. wanted.

Maybe that's why we've seen every controversial angle over the years, so that all his bases are covered. What could Steph and Shane come up with to send their dad to that very ring in the sky?
Well, my friends and I discussed just this topic during the Vince McMahon "bleeder" match at the last PPV, and we decided that if Vince were to die during a PPV:
1. The wrestling would cease; the show would NOT go on. As Owen Hart would seem to indicate, one wrestler cannot be elevated to the point where he is bigger than the show. And yet, RVD notwithstanding, in the WWE, the Whole F'n Show is VKM. JR would break character, and every wrestler would follow suit, even if it was because a few wanted to look good to the McMahon family. In addition, mainstream press would certainly pick up on the story, and without Vince to demonize, the news outlets would need a new scapegoat, and to deflect criticism, management would want to go the "respectful" route by stopping the show.
2. WWE programming would essentially stop for a month. Of course RAW and SMACKDOWN would have tribute shows, but so would HEAT, VELOCITY, and CONFIDENTIAL. Shane, Steph and Linda would address the fans and wrestlers (out of character of course) and a tribute campaign would be urged as storylines would halt. After the next PPV, which would contain a final pro-McMahon propaganda piece, there would be a New Beginning at the RAW afterwards...

I dunno, they could put guys under 250 pounds in the main event. Two months of that and Vince'd blow his brains out.

And at what point in this hypothetical do Frodo and Sam destroy the ring. I think you're being a little dramatic. There's no way things would halt for a month. Only three people in the company are McMahons. They'd do a couple tribute shows and that'd be that.
What do you call Albert Einstein beatin' off? Give up? A stroke of genius!
dont you think is too soon to think about vince death?, maybe in 10 more years, well the next will be shane and steph (with paul lavesque) taking over.

Not that I advocate killing anyone, but I would be highly amused if an internet wrestling writer who spent years castigating McMahon for the whole Owen/Bret stuff went completely nuts took a gun to a show and tried to kill Vince during a pay-per-view just to see if they really did stop the show.

That's an inappropriate comment. How about you save stuff like this for your therapist?
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
