Good ol JR confirmed on Raw that Armageddon will not be shown in the UK whatsoever.
This sucks. We didn't even get a chance to buy it. I live in Ireland so I can't even get the webcast. This is the first time since the first two years of IYHs that people in the UK havent been able to see a PPV.

I've heard various reports from not having signed the contract for 4 of the PPVS, including Armageddon & Royal Rumble. There's likely to be abother 2 we will miss in 2004.

It all goes back to the disasterous Channel 4 deal that nobody liked. We about the only major nation not to get it.
Even the hotbed of Dubai will manage to see it.

The old C4 deal was for Royal Rumble, Backlash, Vengeance and Armageddon. Since the end of the C4 deal which consisted of those 4 PPVs in 2000 and 2001, Sky Box Office have shown Rumble 02, Backlash 02, Vengeance 02, Armageddon 02, Rumble 03, Backlash 03 and Vengeance 03. And now they're not showing Armageddon 03.
Also, Rebellion was not an event this year so that may be another point that Sky want less to do with WWE. I believe the contract for WWE programming on Sky runs out in January 2005, so this may be the beginning of the end for WWE programming in the UK. Lets hope not.

There's been a statement from Sky saying that they regret the loss of Armaggeddon, but sincerely hope to have a deal in place for the Royal Rumble. Now at first glance it seems like they're just blowing hot air, but when you think about it it seems as though they've been geniunely surprised by the negative response to the lack of pay-per-viewage and are now going to try and rectify the situation. They reportedly got over 300,000 emails/phone calls on the subject which, if true, means they've pissed off a serious fanbase. Us Uck-based fans have just gotta keep the pressure on through the next month or so and hopefully they'll cave.

To oldschoolhero, do you know where you got that statement from Sky? I'd be interested to read it.

They've got it over in Thursday's news update on Wrestling Observer. It's from Sky's head of PR:

"--This is a statement from Sky Box Office regarding Armageddon not being shown on Sunday: "Our agreement with WWE for the four SBO events expired earlier this year, and, despite some months of discussion with the WWE organisation, we have been so far unable to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement. Whlist it is very disappointing for us that we could not bring Armageddon to the UK fans, this does not affect the other wrestling programming that you receive from Sky. We will continue to show many hours of wrestling across both Sky One and Sky Sports, including Raw, Smackdown, Afterburn, and Heat. In addition we will broadcast eight of the 12 special events on Sky Sports so you will receive all of this with the Sky World subscription and Sky will continue to be the UK home of WWE. We hope to reach an agreement with WWE to show Royal Rumble, Vengeance, no Mercy and Armageddon in 2004 on Sky Box Office, and as soon as we have news we will let the fans know." That was from Richard Turner, Publicity Manager of Sky TV (thanks to Neil Chandler)"

There ya go.

Well, reading post #1, I get that it's a Silvervision (UK) release of a tape full of 1992-93 matches, but thanks for your giant list!
