Eddie Guerrero apparently injured his arm at the Smackdown taping this past Tuesday during he and Chavo Guerrero's match against The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin).
Word is that the two teams have serious heat between them and that because of that, the match for Smackdown was a little stiff, causing Guerrero's arm injury.
After the match, Eddie Guerrero and Charlie Haas apparently had a brief incident that was quickly broken up. Some took the side of Charlie, saying he had the right to stand up to the often aggressive Guerrero, while agents and management took the stand that "veterans are to be respected."

If a worker has a right to be pissed off everytime someone is very sloppy in the ring, Billy Gunn would have gotten his ass kicked every week.
I was at the tapings Tuesday, and the crowd went absolutely dead when Eddie got hurt. The dreaded "X" came up from both the ref and Shelton Benjamin initially, and the ref threw the "X" up two more times during the match.
I haven't heard the extent of Eddie's injury form anyone. Anyone have any word?
Attempted murder... really. Do they give a Nobel Prize for Attempted Chemistry?
--We heard several different versions of what went down on Tuesday between Charlie Haas and Eddy Guerrero. Guerrero was injured (at the time believed to have been a separated shoulder but now appears to be a hyperextended elbow) during the match and Haas wasn't aware of it and was too tight on an injured body part. Guerrero got mad backstage and punches were thrown. Chavo was involved but Shelton Benjamin wasn't. Guerrero was hurt a little worse in the fracas in throwing a punch but is not expected to miss any time. Jim Ross and John Laurinaitis calmed everyone down and they all shook hands when it was over and apologized. The feeling was Guerrero may have been wrong to go off on Haas, since Haas wasn't aware of the injury, but that Haas also shouldn't have escalated he situation.

I highly doubt that after all that, management's only response was "Hey, veterans need to be respected". Damn I hate 1wrestling.
Sounds like an innocent misunderstanding with some "Latin temper" thrown in. Was it Eddie's right elbow (the one he dislocated some time ago) that got hurt? That may explain his hypersensitivity towards the situation.

I love Eddy more than I probably should as a heterosexual, but I'm starting to think he's crazy. First he beats up this fan for throwing beer on him, now he's throwing punches backstage...You think any of this impacts a management decision to hold back on a push for him?
What do you call Albert Einstein beatin' off? Give up? A stroke of genius!

You're in the middle of doing something very intense where you're in a specific state of mind, you're a recovering alcoholic, and I dump beer all over you ... You don't think you might take a swing at me? Come on.
I think these types of situations RESULTS from a management's decision to hold back on a push for him (and Haas and Benjamin for that matter).
Of course fighting is wrong, I guess, but sometimes shit happens especially in a profession that's as physical as professional wrestling. Throw in all the anabolics and you've got too much testosterone.
Probably every wrestler on the roster has gotten into a scuffle at some point or another.
If it had an effect on a wrestler getting a push, a bunch of the guys that have gotten Main Event runs in WWE wouldn't have gotten them.

Rationalize it all you want, but he's got no right to put his hands on a fan. That is just ridiculous. Now as for the backstage stuff, yeah, that's a little different but I won't be cutting him any slack on the taking a swing at a fan thing, who for all intents and purposes may not have even known about the alcholism.
Besides...Eddy's old-school, I bet he's had worse dumped on him before.

The fan was just lucky it's 2003 because if it were the 80's, he would've been dragged to the back by police, who would look the other way while he got the shit beat out of him.
I absolutely despise fans like that in all sports so I support a punch to the face. It happened not too long ago in the NHL with Tie Domi. A fan has no right to dump shit on a wrestler. What's he expect is going to happen? If I recall the story right, Eddy just turned around and swung at the guy out of instinct. It's not like he snapped on him. He even apologized for it afterwards but really, if you're dumb enough to dump something on another person, wrestler, athlete, common man, you deserve to get a fist to the face. There are few better life lessons then a good beating.
