Given all the alleged steroid/heart related deaths in wrestling these days, one has to figure Vince McMahon's name is on Death's list.

What happens when Vince dies?

Do we see RAW or Smackdown take place as scheduled (the show goes on, as Vince always says), or does Vince's death matter more than guys like Owen's? It's a debatable topic, but I'm curious what people think would be the most appropriate way to handle a sudden death of Vince McMaho, should it ever happen?

I doubt Vince can die. That being said, I imagine that he would want the show to go on. A tribute show would probably be in order (depending on the circumstances) but I doubt anything would be cancelled.

A google search didn't yield Vince's contract with Satan, but I'm pretty sure the terms include living until the apocalypse.

Maybe they'll stop hiring soap opera scriptwriters to book a wrestling program when Vince kicks.

You know if Vince was going to die anytime soon, I think it would have happened by now. He's in his late 50's, obviously partook in steroids and has on occasion taken some insane bumps that would have crippled a normal man his age.

Bottom line is Vince is going no where for a while.

I think Vince will live into old age and will retire from stage life before he dies. I know a lot of you think that will NEVER happen, but I'd bet on it. He won't completely divorce himself from the company, but his heirs will somehow manage it.

My bet is that they'll freeze him until he can be revived for his surprise run-in during the main event of Wrestlemania M.

Exactly. Remember that Simpsons where they look into the future and Mr. Burns is thawed out after they find a cure for seventeen stab wounds in the back? I forsee very similiar circumstances involving Vince McMahon about fifty years from now.

I know we're not hospital interns here, but saying "he took steroids and took big bumps and if that didn't kill him he'll never die" is not the most medically sound position. I think Vince will die prematurely, unless he has an abnormally strong immune system.

And when that happens, I think he'll get the biggest push of his career. If you thought he was on TV a lot before, wait'll you see the force-feeding of his legend that we'll get once he bites the dust.

Not really related but just thought I'd say that one of the arguments Bret Hart used for criticizing Vince for going on with the PPV after Owen's death was that would he have had the show go on if Shane died.

It seemed pretty valid to me.

It's REALLY hard to speculate how Vince would handle issues with the family. I remember reading the Observer and hearing the same thing every time a diva got enhancement surgery: "I wonder if Vince is going to make Stephanie turn herself into a freak like the rest of the girls had to."

Didn't take long to find out the answer to that.

What proof do we have that Vince "made" her do it? Or for that matter, Sable, or Trish, or anyone who might have done the work? I can't honestly see him calling a woman into his office and saying: "We need a little more tittage out of you, here's a good surgeon." He can't legally say that to someone. It opens him up to lawsuits too easily. Even a porno company can't tell a woman to do that in so many words.

I am as quick to blame Vince McMahon for things as the next guy, but only as it pertains to the product itself, and even then only within certain parameters of rationality. Outside of that, I'm not going to blame him for anyone's chest, or anyone's roided-up body. Adults need to make personal decisions and live with them. No mature, reasonable person can honestly think that Stephanie McMahon, the daughter of the founders of the company, was in any danger whatsoever of demotion or release unless she had breast augmentation surgery. WWE was her birthright, once she sought the education to be eligible for control of it.

I think when Vince dies, one Raw and one SmackDown! will be dedicated to him, and then they'll try to go on with business as usual. The shows themselves will suck out loud until the McMahons can stop grieving (which they'd have a right to do), but after that I think Shane will assume Vince's role and everything will go back to somewhat normal.

One has to figure they've got a succession plan in place already for the business end of things. I assume that Stephanie and Shane would handle the creative end of things (though who knows, it may be someone he trusts like Patterson or Pritchard), while Linda would actually oversee the business.

As far as the night of (or week of), yeah, there would probably be a tribute night. Same thing that they'd do if Austin, HHH, Undertaker, Rock or anyone one that's a huge name on the roster passed away prematurely.

In terms of WWF/E programming, it'll be treated like the death of the Pope and a President combined, with RAW, SD and even a PPV being dedicated solely to the memory of the greatest humanitarian ever to walk the face of the Earth Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
How it will be treated by others: Every living promoter Vince knocked out of business and every wrestler he screwed or blackballed will be forming a Konga (the Barbarian) line to piss on his grave.
As for the company, it'll probably be stable for 12-18 months until the will it read, lawsuits are filed etc., and eventually the company will be broken up by bickering McMahon factions.

Why Pro Wrestling proves the INS cannot keep terrorists out of the United States: If a felon like Nathan Jones is allowed into the United States with no special skills (unless being totally inept in the ring counts, but I think there are enough totally inept people in the US to keep that skill from being unique or special), then how the hell can they justify keeping anyone else out?

Hopefully the latter rather than the former. Shane & Steph handling creative? ::shudders::
