TKG: This show sucked ass. Worse one of these we watched. It completely wore me out. An hour and five minutes in, it felt like I had been watching RAW for 12 hours. ing . After this show I gladly watched 2003 Steve Williams vs. 2003 Tiger Jeet Singh. That’s how much this show sucked I’d rather be watching Tiger Jeet Singh. I pretty much swore off Raw at end, but a couple days have passed I’m willing to relive the pain and write about it. But if the WWE gives me one more week like this, it this may be the last of the workrate reports you see from me for a long time.

What Worked

PAS: That missed clothesline by Jackie which was 9 inches over Trish’ s head made me laugh, as opposed to the other stuff on this show which just sapped my spirit.

TKG: Jerry Lawler vs. Coach was real quick but fun. Lawler’s side suplex was NARSTY. Nice fist drop. The piledriver was a banned move in CWA too, but Lawler still used it. I guess he’s mellowed with age and now willing to follow the rules he’s faced with.

PAS: Matt Hardy v. Christian was a fine 6-minute 1998 Super 8 opening match. It felt a little like a match they worked at the Dory Funk Jr. dojo and dusted off here for RAW. I almost expected a shirtless Adam Windsor to be working the bell.

TKG: I liked the back bump Christian did on the corner post and the follow up abdominal work by Hardy. Both guys had really solid punches for WWF. But I wasn’t feeling this, nice body work, nice bumps, nice punches but whole match was clearly building toward a run in…building toward nothing.

PAS: I really liked Lita’s shirt. She really looked like the scenester Avail fan at the back bar of the Black Cat.

TKG: Holy did I dig Lawler’s shirt. Is he hanging out in Nashville? Who is his tailor? I thought died over ten years ago? That shirt would have made Porter Wagoner drool? It looked like he had a cross between the mudflap lady and Michael PS Hayes drawn on his lapels in nothing but sequins.

PAS: Randy Orton did some really nice heel apron work. I remember when he was a Velocity babyface he did a really great job as fired up babyface on the apron in a tag, he is equally as good as a ed off heel, pounding on the mat and cussing out the babyface. Nice uppercut too.

TKG: I normally am critical of the production work during matches that go over two segments. I was very critical during the Lesnar/Angle Iron Man match where we missed all the transitions. Pre commercial Angle would be on offense, after commercial Lesnar would be. No idea how it happened. Here I thought it was smart as we break for commercial Batista comes in and starts to go after Michaels and I am scared. Good God we have 15 minutes for a long Michaels face in peril section, with a Michaels who can’t bump and can’t sell. Man you show the fans that and no one is gonna want to buy the PPV match. But we break for five minutes of commercials and come back to Michaels on offense. Sure it broke up and fragmented the match, but it reduced some of the pain of this show. Not a good match but at least they spared me that. For that I am grateful. Smart way to sell the PPV.

What Didn't Work

TKG: Damnit, Vince sends his writers on some inane corporate retreat and they take it out on me. So the whole episode was supposed to be some ty role-playing exercise. AWW, Eric learns a lesson, by engaging in meaningless role-playing where Foley pretends to be a bad executive. Jesus, this sucked. Thank god they dropped their original idea of building the whole show around a trust walk and a ropes course. I think they were worried that TNA owns some sort of intellectual copy write to building a wrestling show around ropes course. Thank god for TNA.

PAS: This was easily the worst show since we have been doing these. The show made me physically weary. Way too tired to write anything directly after. There was a period where Cactus Jack was my favorite wrestler of all time. He would take huge bumps, work a compelling brawl and cut the most intense layered promos in wrestling history. He has been a lobotomized version of that ever since coming to the WWE, but his current shtick is about as boring and dull as anyone in wrestling. I think this is the 473rd variation of Foley as and they have been getting consecutively worse. He would have been better off as Ernest Miller's butler.

TKG: Ok, we’ve all heard stories about the police officer who separates the abusing husband from his wife walks him around the block and then brings him back home to her. But still ; Foley releases Stacy from being the property of Steiner/Test to abuse. She does a bunch of cartwheels to celebrate. Only, it was all just a game. Foley was just kidding to teach Bischoff a lesson. Yeah I’m sure Test and Steiner are gonna treat her better now. “Here I’m gonna rescue you from abuse…Ha, Ha…It was all just a game, go back to your abusive boyfriend.” …More women should be protesting this .

PAS: Stacy is starting to look just like Tammy moments before the plummet. Right when she started ing TAKA and Bret Hart but before she started boiling Somas and the powder between her toes. I am really not looking forward to junky Test with fat Stacy at ringside v. Sabu matches on USAPRO shows in 5 years.

PAS: How does D-Von Dudley have a job in the WWE, I can't think of anyone on the roster who brings less to the table. At least Bubba is big, but can you imagine how Hack Myers, Mustafa, Jason Knight, Danny Daniels, Tony Devito, Paul Lauria, Johnny Grunge, the Pitbull who didn't O.D., P.N. News, Chris Chetti, Danny Doring, Vic Grimes, D.C. Drake, Blue Meanie, Pablo Marquez, Larry Winters, Tom Marquez, H.C. Loc, Johnny Hotbody, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, Shane Douglas, Dances with, Little Snot, and Dudley Dudley and the dozens of other marginal ECW castoffs feel when they turn on their TV and see D-Von employed? What about me? What about Raven?

TKG: No Bubba pointing to the sky before hitting Jindrack with a bone for the win???? BAH!

PAS: Why is Mark Henry not working? Can't they at least throw me a bone? Plus how in the does Smackdown run San Jose and not have Rey Mysterio Jr. or Eddie Guerrerro wrestle? Are they trying to kill their crowds? The only people who go to shows any more are Mexicans, the only people in San Jose are Mexicans. DO THE ING MATH

TKG: Test vs. Booker T was awful. I was entertained by Test for two weeks straight when he had a broken foot. He really should amputate the leg as unless he’s crippled he sucks. Crippled Test vs. Zach Gowan could be entertaining endless feud. On the other hand, fully healthy Test is worthless. Has Test always sold chops by waving his fingers in circles? Cause someone needs to tell him, that even Sid sold chops better than him. Haven’t seen broken legged Sid work; so don’t know whether he might be better Zach opponent.

PAS: I was watching that La Resistance match and thinking "How bad is it when Shawn Micheals doesn't even make a top ten for Gayest looking wrestlers on your show." Hell Rico is working an Adrian Street gimmick and he doesn't even break the first dozen. The Christian Right got Abercrombie and Fitch to cancel its catalogues, can't they do something about the shirtless oil fests on RAW?

TKG: Do any of the writers have experience with actual women, or are they too busy oiling up Heidenreich? Everyone knows that no woman if given a choice between getting and preventing her “best friend” from getting , is gonna take option number one. All this backstage talk where female friends encourage each others relationships, instead of undercutting each other, rings totally false. I haven’t been a fan of this angle at all, but the one positive was that it was long-term storyline. Well they blew that here. Really they need to get Mark Henry to read a love poem to everyone next week to get them all back on the right foot. I think Henry could really get over as a heel if they started pushing him as a post-Native Tongues Neo Soul guy freestyling second-rate Common tributes to Erika Badyu. I mean look how over Cena has gotten with his “ ” freestylin. I imagine a Neo-Soul love obsessed Henry freestyle would be instant heel heat with the folks who dig Cena. They’re setting up Goldberg vs. Lesnar, and Kane vs. Undertaker interpromotional matches for Mania. Cena vs. Henry would smoke both of those. So easy to set it up. The early dis tracks. Cena disses Henry’s flow. Henry disses Cena’s commercial uneducated gangsta style. The freestyle Cypher at the PPV that disintegrates into a brawl to help set it up. The episode of RAW where KRS Cena shoves PM Henry off the stage. The feud writes itself. Plus both guys have a bodyslam finish, which sets up for an easily laid out battle of bodyslams match. If this ty Canadian In the Company of Men sets up that, than it will all be worthwhile.

PAS: Goldberg tried but he can't carry 5 other guys.

Foley really fell apart when he became *lovable*. He is no good in the GM/Commissioner/Co-Owner/whatever role. He comes off like an assistant manger at the local Pizza Hut

D'Von doesn't even do the fish when he gets clobbered anymore. It was the one thing he was really good at too.

Is it just me or were all the naughty words excised for my protection and replaced with odd spacing?

Okay, I'll agree that he softened up a bit. BUT, you can't tell me with a straight face that all those promos Cactus did against HHH back in 2000 weren't some of the best written and most believable promos Raw has seen. Believe me, the opening promos since that time couldn't hit that stratusphere if bigger ratings depended on them.

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)I'm smarter than I was a year ago.
2)WWE isn't.
3) I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.
1300 bitches and counting....

I have no explanation for the dissapearance of the fucks and shits. I'm pretty sure I posted this from work computer. It's odd. If you want to read the report with all cursing included it can be found at dvdvr.com

Also oddly the word "torture" and "gangsta" seem to have been censored. But "sucks ass" is fine.

Hmmm I'd watch out for that. I've seen software before that will censor incoming email. I haven't seen that happen on an HTML post - that's rather odd. Wonder what kind of censorware you've got running there?

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

Is that why I suddenly started picking up what he was saying? The first few rhyming promos Cena did were only noise, to my ears. Yes, rap fans, most of the world has NO idea what you are blasting on your megawoofers--and probably doesn't want to know....
