(x-first time eligible) Bert Blyleven, x-Joe Carter, Dave Concepcion, x-Danny Darwin, Andre Dawson, x-Doug Drabek, x-Dennis Eckersley, x-Jim Eisenreich, x-Cecil Fielder, Steve Garvey, Rich Gossage, Keith Hernandez, Tommy John, x-Jimmy Key, x-Dennis Martinez, Don Mattingly, x-Kevin Mitchell, x-Paul Molitor, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, x-Randy Myers, Dave Parker, x-Terry Pendleton, Jim Rice, x-Juan Samuel, Ryne Sandberg, Lee Smith, x-Dave Stieb, Bruce Sutter, x-Bob Tewksbury, Alan Trammell, Fernando Valenzuela
Of this group, I'd say that Blyleven, Carter, Eckersley, the Goose, Morris and Rice all deserve to go Hall.
Let's put this in the plainest terms possible: Darryl Strawberry has no business instructing anybody about anything. He has never done a thing in his life to warrant a position of guidance. Not on the field. Not off the field.-- David Vescey, si.com

Really? I'd say Eck, maybe. The rest, nah. Eck played 23 yrs, had about 400 saves and over 2400 Ks. Yes.
Carter? His stats aren't that great. He only played 15 and under 400 hrs. His Average is under 260, Not great for an outfielder.
Danny Darwin.Uh-Uh
Drabek? No
Key - no
Martinez - no
Michell - no
Molitor - ok, a maybe. Guy played 20+ seasons, batted over 300, popped out over 200 dingers, had over 600 doubles. Not bad for a mostly middle infielder. Ok, I say yeah
Of the rest Blyleven? Guy had a great career. I'd say maybe just short of the hall. But he might squeek in. Nearly 500 in w/l, but 287 wins and over 3700 Ks
How about Sandberg? For a second sacker he had 280+ Hrs, 400+ doubles and 280+. By contrast, Joe Morgan, already in the Hall, had 268 dingers, batted 271 and 450 doubles
Sutter ought to make for just being maybe the first great closer

Eckersley, Gossage, El Presidente, Molitor, Rice, Smith.

I think Dennis Eckersle is the #1 pick to get in. The #1 closer of his era... Paul Molitor consistent, played in a bad market most of his career, but shouldn't hold it against him
Joe Carter consistent RBI guy. I know they don't vote on moments but the Walkoff homerun World Series win was clutch... Jack Morris, even though he was a bitter jerk (was a complete prick at the Red Lobster once LoL). He got three 20-Win Seasons. Plus was part of World Series winning teams in Detroit, Minnesota and Toronto.
I've always been a fan of Ryne Sandberg. I would like him to get in... I'd go with Jimmy Key as my 6th pick, he was my very favorite picture growing up. But will he go in as a Yankee or a Blue Jay? Ahh I'm certain he'd go as a Yank unfortunately.
Another question is how should they go in as? I'd say Eck(A's). Molitor(Brews). Carter(Jays). Morris(Det). Sandberg(Cubs). Key(Yanks)
Moiltor and Sanberg are defnities. Eckersley and Gossage are maybes, mainly because HOF voters have issues with voting for relievers. I don't think Joe Carter or Bert Blyleven are hall of famers under any circumstances though.

Not to mention 1993 World Series MVP with...*shudder*...Toronto. (Dammit, Blue Jays fans, you KNOW that with a little more time, we'd have caught you in '92 for the AL East title, waxed the A's that we OWNED that year, and you would've had your "County Stadium On A Pole Match" World Series: Brewers vs. Braves. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.) :-)

I know he's a Minnesota native, and won the ring and MVP up north, but still...if Molitor goes in in ANYTHING other than Brewers pinstripes and the awesome ball-and-glove logo, there will be riots out here. Started by me.
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy.

Bert played for some really bad teams for a lot of years, including my beloved Indians. His record considering what he played for is amazing. Put him in.
Eck defined what a modern closer is. Put him in.
Carter better not get in before alot of others more deserving.

In the immortal words of Justin Timberlake, cry me a river. How's that Pat Listach RotY working out for you?

Oh no you DIDN'T. :-)
He worked out about as good as John Jaha the power hitter, Darryl Hamilton the RF of the future, and ubercloser Doug Henry. In other words...not.
You'll get yours someday, Blue Jay Fan! Probably in some alternate-universe World Series, where the Brew Crew had enough sense not to part ways with the now-hip-again logo:
Yeah...*looks at paper, sees Sexson traded*...someday.

Heh...don't worry, Blue Jays fan already got his, but just like his brother Maple Leafs fan, he just doesn't know it...teased with greatness only to be condemned to mediocrity for the rest of time...
HOF:
Eckersley. A lock. His stats as a closer are good enough to stand on their own, never mind the fact that he has 100+ wins as a starter, including a 20 win season, and came out of the bullpen to win the MVP in 1992.
Molitor. 3000 hits, and he didn't have to pull a Wade Boggs and play four years past his time just to reach it.
Morris may have had a couple 20 win seasons around 250 wins, but he also had the luxury of playing for contending teams pretty much his whole career. His career ERA is near 4; that's not HOF worthy. Blyleven has 287 wins, but he played forever to get them. Averaged over his career, that's only 13 wins a season. That's a nice, noteworthy run, but not HOF calibre. Carter? Mattingly? Dawson? Sorry, it's the Hall of FAME, not the Hall of Consistent or the Hall of Pretty Good. I only vote for Eck and Molitor this year.

Andre Dawson should have been first ballot. One of the top 4 power/speed combos in baseball history. Not a shred of doubt.
Bruce Sutter as well. The man's career established the save-only closer position.
The case for Jim Rice is well made at lostinleftfield.com. An awesome hitter and deserves to be in.
Molitor is automatic with 3,000 hits, why is there any question here?
Sandberg was the dominant second baseman for many years, but the recent offensive numbers from middle infielders will work against him. I would vote for him.
I would not be angry at votes for Gossage, Carter or Blyleven.
I WOULD be angry at votes for Concepcion or garvey.
