I didn't loose any matches when I was Eddie in Season Mode and I defeated Brock pretty easily and I didn't change Eddies attributes (I only changed his 6 to 7 for strenght) and played with difficulty level Smackdown.

You can never loose a hardcore match. You just have to pick up the chair and press X and up or down. They cant counter those attacks. But I never use that kind of things to win. I try to make the matches as real as possible.
The absolutely biggest problem in the game is that you can NEVER make other tap to submission hold -moves like Angle Lock, Walls of Jericho, Crossface...so you can never play as those guys and that really sucks cuz Benoit and Jericho are one of my favourites. Ofcourse you can easily make you opponent tap if your playing at difficulty level Normal but Im sure no one plays at Normal. No one can be that crap.
And another major problem is: You can counter 95% of the moves your opponent try on you. So it's too easy to win because of that.
AND in season mode you can't really work as a heel. When you choose to play as for ex. Triple H you should be the one Vince helps to win at No Way Out and the one whoos on Eric Bischoffs side. It's just impossible to play as a real heel...
Though I don't like the tone of his post, Seba's got a point about the heel thing. If you play as a heel, the storylines automatically place you in the role of a face and have the faces act heelish.
It's a minor annoyance, though, among all the other great elements of this game.
AMG2K2 describes almost exactly what I have to do with Rhyno to defeat the main eventers on Smackdown. I have built Rhyno up to the point where he can pretty much hang with Kurt Angle, but for some unexplicable reason, I have the hardest time with Edge. And don't get me started on the Undertaker. But using the strategy that AMG stated I am 2-1 against him. Also, I guess it doesn't help too much that I am pretty much new to the smackdown series, but I am thinking about getting the one before it because that seemed pretty cool running backstage and various other things. Anyway, back to No Mercy...
Hall: "Hey maybe we could have a few beers with the boys..." Nash: "I don't think thats such a good idea..."
I'm sorry that I suck. Next time I'll just let the guy beat the crap out of me and take the pin like a man.
And yes, what I suggested was in fact 'cheating', but... ah hell, I'm not defending myself, it's a trick. So what? We're not all good at this game yet... *sigh*

i mean damn, i beat the into a bloody pulp, and then after i'm done, i can't add injury to injury. i grab a chair, they magically get it off me.
it's a load of crap.
and the same for respect. you try to show respect to some one after u whoop thier ass, and they tell u where to stick it.
I have had no trouble attacking after a match. The movie plays where I beat the shit out of the guy. Or...I had it reversed on me and my partner's ass when we tried to run someone down post match..
Same for respect. I have done the handshake thing..no troubles there.
As for the earlier people talking about dificulties. On lvl normal I noticed that it takes a while for things to click. Early in the season Big Show beat the shit outta me, later on he didn't stand a chance (even w/o adding stats)
And finally..has anyone seen Brock Lesnar's SSP??? He actually doesn't fully complete it and lands on his head, like at Wrestlemania. No idea if you take damage when his head hits you though. I just think it's SICK that they put that in!

I'm pretty sure its all down to how high your SP is related to your opponent.
I was havin the worst time trying to dish out post match beat downs with my CAW when I first started out in season, but then once he got up to about 90 I pretty much had carte blanche to do as I pleased.
If you didn't know already, quite often the guy you tried to beat on or respect is backstage the next week where all manner of things can happen.
I really havent found the game to be that much harder than the old ones, asides the now impossible manual submissions. Just leather away with striking attacks until the opponent is a bit worn down (2-3 green areas) before you start going crazy with the grapples.
Also after initiating a grapple, strike once or twice then perform a move and you tend to have more success than if you just go straight for the secondary grapple.
Out of interest, has anyone found any storylines relating to the hardcore/IC/US belts? I held them all at various times but just seemed to be assigned random matches with no build up, which kinda sucked.
The submission system is still massively broken... it takes longer to get someone to give, but they're still unbreakable and pretty much the only decent way to win a match.
dMr, I can think of ONE storyline that involves anything but the Tag or World titles... the US/World champion one, where you (holding the US belt) feud with the World champion. I've never seen anything at all that involves a chase for any of the lesser belts (US, IC, Hardcore, or CW). Which is big-time lame. :\

I make people give all the time and it doesn't take that long you just work on the guy. If your submissions are low then yea it going to take awhile to make them tap, but if your strenghs is low then it take awhile to pin them also. I got my guy like at all 8's and I think one 9

What do you mean by that? It takes longer?..It's fucking IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to give up. No one can hit any button that fast.
It takes longer because you have to pay more attention to wearing down a specific body part than the last game. As for getting the uncle... it's not easy, but it's not about pure speed, either. I can bust out some pretty good rapid fire (thanks to the Mega Man series) and I get much better results by slowing it down a little and concentrating more on an even pace. Most likely they set it up so that people with a turbo controller wouldn't be able to stroll through the game so easily.
Once whatever body part you're working on is in the red, as long as your character has a decent score in submission you'll have plenty of time to knock 'em off. The only ones I currently have any problems with are characters like Kurt Angle and Ric Flair, because their own submission scores are high enough I don't have as much time to work on them.

My favorite little thing in the game is if you pick the post-match attack while playing as HHH, he sometimes gives his opponent an extra pedigree. Near as I can tell, HHH is the only one who can do that.

Shawn Micheals (or is it Michaels) does the Sweet Chin Music in a post-match beatdown sometimes. If you're the hardcore champion, sometimes you get jumped backstage and have an impromptu defense. The damage system makes the matches longer. In the last game you could just do german suplexes as Kurt Angle and make your opponent tap to the ankle lock. It makes more sense now.
you say the post-match beat downs are based on your SP, but my CAW is at 100 SP, and it doesn't seem to go any higher, i'm the WWE, Tag, and hardcore champ, and i still can't attack some crappy wrestler after i've finished whoopin there ass.
and in regards to the story lines for belts. the only IC line i've seen, was i saved HHH from a post-match beatdown one time, and then at the next PPV, it was me and him (HHH was the IC champ) vs Brock and Goldberg.
PS. i couldn't agree more about the impossibilty of the new tapping system, i have a turbo control ffs and they still don't tap. and thats with 7.5 submission.

OK. One more time. You cannot get a submission unless you work the effected body part (head, leg, arm) until it's in the red. And then, you may need to apply the hold more than once. If the little tug of war meter is in the middle or above, you can tap the button until your fingers bleed or your turbo controller explodes...you won't get a submission.
Once the dot is closer to the submit side, your tapping will lead to their tapping.
