When they were showing the previews for it, I turned to my wife and joked, "What? Is the helicopter coming back to finish the job? 'HELICOPTER II:This time it's personal'."

I actually feel kind of bad about that now, and I'm a little pissed that they went this route. Unless he wanted off the show, why kill Romano? Yes, he was a prick, but he was one of my main reasons for still watching.

And what the hell was up with the patient that Kovach (sp?) cuffed into his bed?

Romano won't die. Romano never dies. He jumped out of the way of the chopper and ran for his life. If anybody's gonna die, Carter's gonna die.

I also was shocked. I was drunk, too, but still shocked. I never expected Romano to bite it. And Romano most definitly dies. 1) Pot smoking loser doctor gets to keep his job. 2) Pratt doesn't get fired (even though Ansbaugh (spelling?) went to bat for him. 3) the PTB get to milk 'shock and memorial services' for two to three weeks. 4) This show needs more Weaver.

But that's just me and I suck at plot lines. Still, no way he gets out of the way of the chopper. It does suck though because him being such a prick was very amusing. One of my fav characters.

Patient cuffed to bed, Kovach thought he was a walker. Walkers will be "restrained" to a bed so they 1) do no harm to themselves and 2) do no harm to others. Controversial and didn't seem to be utilized properly within the script. Now, if they had that guy die...

When my wife and I say the ads and then saw Romano go outside, I said he gets it. She thought they wouldn't be that stupid.

My wife likes the show but since Clooney left and Dr. Green died, I just don't give a rat's ass about the characters. The show is just eh for me. What is its appeal? I loved St. Elsewhere but this show has turned into dreck over the last three years. Most of all, it just doesn't appear to have a sense of humor or heart.

The problem was that the guy needed a bed upstairs or in the ER, and there weren't any beds in either. I think what happened is that Kovac lied and said the guy was nuts/likely to walk out, so that his being restrained upstairs would get him the care he needed. That's why the guy potentially not getting out of the fire was so dramatic: Luka had lied to get the guy cared for, but in doing so had trapped him in harm's way.

This episode had waaaaaaaaay too much drama and shock in it for one episode. It was four in one.
1. Helicopter screws up; Romano dies; nurse injured by helicopter blade.
2. Luka is a LOOSE CANNON!
3. Abby isn't cut out to be a doctor.
4. Susan doesn't realize how much she loves her ex-husband and needs him. The ex-husband dies. NO! HE LIVES! No! HE MIGHT DIE!

Way too much. This is ER as booked by Russo. Every time I started to feel for a character, BAM: two new stories and a new sensational danger/problem/crisis/mistake happened.

Green's dead?! Holy crap, did I ever miss a few.

I remember watching last when Green was recovering from his brain tumor and had just moved in and married Elizabeth.

Anyone care to catch me up quickly?

Tumor came back. It was inoperable. So Greene retired, and went to Hawaii. He died while there.

I was waiting for this episode, if only to say

"THIS TIME.... THE CHOPPER FINISHES THE JOB"

I was so sure that Morris (Scott Grimes) was going to be the one to get it. I figured he was an expendable character as he had only been on 3 or 4 episodes. Then I switched to Donal Logue, figuring Susan was going to dump him anyway, so they would kill him off. The clue is in the advertising for the show - "Someone you know is going to die." Not someone you know and LOVE. So, I thought Grimes. Then Logue. Swerveration to Romano. Didn't see that coming.

Jeb is correct about the patient Kovacs brings upstairs. He only did that so they couldn't send him back down to the ER. He wasn't a walker.

Jeb is also correct in his assessment of this show being overbooked. After the show was done, my mind was just reeling from all the swerves. A little much, I thought.

I think it's funny how people talk in wrestling terms when it comes to other forms of entertainment ... I was getting a chuckle reading this thread ... Russo booking ER ... booking the show a different way, etc ...

Glad to know that I'm not the only one that does that!
