May be mistaken, but didn't we have this same debate when they seemingly weren't even mentioning Hennig passing? (I think it was Hennig....god knows there have been enough deaths to be easily confusable)
They put together their tribute thing then, albeit very late.....they may now
......though I sort of doubt it
Anybody can kick people's asses. But it takes a true monster to kick people's asses AND breastfeed at the same time - Excalibur05
more fans probably know who Crash Holly was then Road Warrior Hawk or even Curt Hennig
Are you kidding?
They didn't mention Michael Lockwood's death because guess what? He was 34 years old and people might start asking questions that WWE doesn't want to deal with.
What questions will his death bring that Hawk's didn't? Or Curt Hennig's? Or Louie Spicolli's? Or Pitbull 2's? Or Brian Pillman's? Or this guy or that guy or the other guy?
Furthermore, WWE /has/ mentioned his death. WWE was the first source to report that he was dead. No, it wasn't on TV, but the continued suggestion that they've ignored him is completely false. But I agree they should have showed a graphic for him.
USA Today is going to be doing a story on the death rate in wrestling and hopefully WWE will be forced to deal with the problem.
Because of USA Today? HBO did a story. ABC News did a story. What's so compelling about Crash Holly and USA Today?
And what exactly do you propose they do? How could WWE have saved Crash? Send a babysitter to make sure he doesn't pill or drink himself to death? Here's my suggestion for WWE: fire Steven Richards. Send the wrestlers a message. If they're even remotely connected to such behavior from now on, they won't have a job anymore. Then maybe they'll start taking some responsibility for themselves.
THey showed the "In Memory of" graphic for him on the first Raw after he died, with a picture of him and his lifespan. But didn't show a video untill a week later.
Why is it so hard to believe that WWE doesn't give a shit about Crash?
Consider all the fans who started watching wrestling when wrestling became cool. They're the casual fanbase of today. They started watching in 98/99. Who's Road Warrior Hawk to them? The drunk who jumped off the TitanTron? Crash Holly was all over TV during the boom.
Hawk and Hennig are more famous to longtime wrestling fans but I was talking about the current crop of casual viewers. They might like to know that Crash Holly died.
It's just a slap in the face to Lockwood. Thanks for killing yourself every night in hardcore matches but we're sorry, you're not important enough for a fucking graphic.

Reading comprehension, dude. They're doing a story about the death rate which they've been working on for awhile. It's just coming out soon and the fact that a 34 year old who was recently with the company just choked on his own vomit might cause casual fans to put two and two together.

Yes because you were there and you know what happened inside Steven Richards house. The solution isn't easy and isn't going to solve this for everyone but they don't even TRY to address the steroid and drug issues. They've got a "test when we feel like it" policy.
If you're going to fire every wrestler who's remotely connected to drug abusers, well, you'd probably have about a handful of guys left. That's real fair and will solve everything! Because we all know you can just get someone else off of drugs.

WWE, on the other hand, has barely (if at all) even mentioned Crash's passing. He was a jobber/comedy wrestler for life, but he was also a human being and a loyal employee. He deserves to at least be acknowledged.
Now I'm a fan of TNA, but don't use this for TNA shilling. He was working for the company at the time of his passing. If Crash had stayed with the WWE or just been out of wrestling, do you really believe that TNA would have done anything about Crash's passing? I would have to say no.
This doesn't excuse the WWE from not acknowledging it in some form on its TV shows RIGHT after it happened (I'm sorry, a three week later Confidential piece doesn't count to me).
Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

I understand that, but the point is, he was working for TNA recently, but most fans know him from the WWE. If he just stayed in the WWE, then who knows.
After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure... 1)I'm smarter than I was a year ago. 2)WWE isn't. 3) I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II. 1300 bitches and counting....

This just plain isn't true. Brian James, Steve Regal, Eddie Guerrero and Jeff Hardy were ALL offered extensive help with their respective rehabilitation from substance abuse issues. In some cases they accepted and turned their lives around, and in others they didn't. How do we know that Crash was offered similar assistance? We don't-but the precedent is there for us to make an educated guess. Don't go thrusting wrestlers' personal problems onto the company that employs them because ONE person couldn't control their own impulses and ended up dead because of it.

The should be more worried about reporting real news.
Bottom line is, they didn't have to do a tribute, they just had to show a graphic for a couple seconds or had Ross mention it. And mostly not for us, but for his family, friends and most importantly, him.
The friends and family he pretty much told to fuck off when he killed himself? Crash deserves nothing.

No, he’s not. You want an obit? GOOD OL’ JR: Ladies and Gentlemen, Crash Holly, another selfish prick who decided that abuse and addiction was more important than his family and friends, woke up dead. He choked in a pile of his own vomit...By Gawd!!!, King, is that something that we, as wrestling fans should mourn? Someone who gave up? King, I’m at a loss for words. LAWLER: I’m not!!!! PUPPIES!
And that would solve it. Yes indeed.

Right on.
Tribal Prophet:I agree 100% with Lance there. Bubba Ray pisses me off more than anything when he does that. I know someone here went off about Goldberg using 9/11 to get himself over, but the Dudley's had no shame doing the same thing after that too. Bubba stood up on a turnbuckle pointing at his armband and may as well have been yelling "Look at me, I'm mourning" except his attitude seemed to be "Cheer for me, I care".
No doubt. Something I’ve noticed over the years - watching the Flair DVD with the Greenville celebration – hell, just the inside pictures of the box confirmed it. Bubba is like Forrest Gump when it comes to tributes...he’s ALWAYS front and center! Flair’s on his shoulders, black armbands, tribute moves, etc. It’s like he has a second gimmick or something.

OMG it never occurred to me, but you're absolutely right. God help us all when Dusty finally croaks.
They already set a precedent with Pillman, Bulldog, Hennig, Hawk, Miss Elisabeth, and others that they acknowledge their deaths regardless of how they died.
Oh wait, they used Hennig, Liz and Bulldog's death to trash WCW and imply that they didn't have drug problems in WWF because it's a "Family".
Hey if you want to write people off if they have problems, go right ahead. We don't know what his life was like. All I know is that he was a tiny man in a big man's world taking more abuse then the human body can handle. I know that he had a whack job ex-wife that ruined his funeral.
I don't excuse drug abuse but you can't just write a person off and not try to understand why he did what he did and if it was a product of his working environment or not.
If people died of OD's and enlarged hearts in baseball or football at the rate they drop in wrestling, something would be done. But it's that dirty rasslin' so who cares if they die.
This is from Gary Will.com [Originally the complete list of deaths from 2000-03; edited for just WCW/WWF/ECW guys]:
The Sheik [76], Curt Hennig [44], Tony Altimore [74], Ray Mendoza [73], Miss Elizabeth [42], Fred Blassie [85], Pitbull #2 [36], Stu Hart [88], Road Warrior Hawk [45], Crash Holly [32], Wahoo McDaniel [63], Lou Thesz [86, Heart surgery complications], Randy Anderson [42; Cancer], Dick Dudley [37, Kidney failure], Davey Boy Smith [39, Heart attack], Rocco Rock [50], Mr. Wrestling [68], Villano I [54, Heart attack], Johnny Valentine [72], Terry Gordy [40, Heart attack], Rhonda Singh [40], Chris Adams [46, Shot], Ed Whalen [74, Heart attack], Russ Haas [27; Heart disease], Gary Albright [36], Bobby Duncum Jr. [34], Gordon Solie [71], Tony Parisi [58[, Toru Tanaka [70], Yokozuna [34], Benny McGuire [54], Helen Hart [74, Diabetic seizure]
A lot of old people, and a lot of larger people (McGuire, Yokozuna, Singh). The WWF did tributes for a sizable bunch of these folks. Why not Crash?
WWE.com Picture of the Day has a photo submitted by Molly (pod.wwe.com) from her personal album with Her, Crash and Bob. Crash doesn't look too great in it... But I'm sure someone is going to spin this as how WWE just wants to get hits on their new site design. It's sweet of Molly. After his release he was pretty mean towards Molly making fun of her weight, but then again it could be just messing around. I just read the interview didn't hear it so couldn't tell the tone of it.
Would have I liked a little graphic, sure. But who knows, maybe the family didn't want it mentioned on TV. I don't see why WWE racked over the coals for not having it. They mentioned it on their site. There has been a bad string of deaths recently maybe they didn't want another mention on the actual show especially considering the circumstances... I hear his personal life was a mess on his final days, that's why he was staying at Stevie's house. And his history of alcohol is very well known.
If your a Crash fan, does it ease the pain you feel because of his death by having a graphic? Does it give his life he lived any more meaning. The people who knew him and cared for him mourned in their own way. Some have said some words about him on the WWE site... I could understand wanting a graphic, but I don't get the "It shows how horrible cold WWE is by not showing it" aspect as some are putting out
