Even though the angle never got to reach its full fruition due to injuries, the initial push of Benoit/Jericho vs. Austin/HHH was just amazing to watch. Between the tag match, TLC 3, and the 2 Benoit/Austin matches, it was the best 2 week stretch for the WWF in many years I think. The sight of Jericho and Benoit answering the challenge of the 2 Man Power Trip was my favorite moment of 2001.
I liked the following angles, in no paticular order: -Cactus Jack vs. HHH; Retirement Angle A: Good promos, good matches. -Austin vs. Rock; WrestleMania Angle ('cept for Debra) A: Same as Benoit/Jericho, 'cept at WM -Jericho/Benoit Mutual Respect A: Old school respect from old enemies -Benoit stealing Angle's medals A: Just deliciously old school. -The InVasion (when WCW/ECW was heel) A: Made me hate WCW more, and that added heat to the angle -The McMahon/Helmsley Faction using Benoit as a hired gun A: Reminded me of old school angles, plus I love Benoit
Holden: Judging by the buzz, that movie's gonna make some serious bank. Jay: What buzz? Holden: The internet buzz. Jay: What the f*ck is the internet? [Holden (Ben Affleck) & Jay (Jason Mewes) in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back]
If nothing else, just to see the disgusted reaction on the face of the hapless victim in the ring.
While the whole Big Show's dad dying of cancer angle pretty much sucked major wind, the sight of Bossman dragging a coffin chained to the back of the Bluesmobile.....even as you laugh, you're telling yourself mentally that it's just so, so sick.
A pure mark-out moment that should've led to a great angle that didn't:
The reformation of ECW. I was sitting on my couch, channeling Joey Styles for all it was worth.
Pretty much anything involving Al Snow & Mick Foley makes my list.
