Not quite brother. Storyline cousin.
What really was up with there not being a Crash tribute? They certainly are aware of the news. I don't know, I was really expecting one.
Well they don't have to do a tribute the next show.. I recall the Hawk/Stu tributes came a week late(r) as well.. Give em time to put something interesting together perhaps?
As for Raw..sounds interesting. The "date" sounds really weird. Nobody really tore it apart (yet) so I guess it could be interesting :)
Hey, ScreamingHeadGuy gets referenced in SK's Raw Rant.
As for Raw, a pretty boring show. Teddy Long's "one crazy cracka" was definitely the highlight of the show. None of the matches were anything special. Jericho/Booker especially disappointed me - neither seemed in sync. Too many irish whips, and the noticably blew 2 spots (irish whip into corner, corner rollup).
I will say, however, this Jericho/Trish storyline is intriguing.
I was there for the tapings last night, and the only mention of Crash Holly's passing was during the tapings for "Heat" (the international version). Rico appeared on the Tron and said that Crash had passed away and that he was taking on Stevie Richards, Crash's best friend, in a tribute match. As Stevie was working face, they clipped off the spoken intro to his entrance music. Stevie did the step-by-step turnbuckle climb into the ring, which got a huge pop, and did the same as he left the ring after getting the pinfall. It appeared he was crying as he left the ring, and Victoria was consoling him up the ramp. He then held up a Crash picture and a fan's "RIP Crash" sign on the stage before departing. It was very emotional and the best thing I saw last night. Sadly, it appears it won't be broadcast for the majority of WWE fans.

Raw was OK, not outstanding, but not horrible either...what away to build up a vicious, violent, ambulance match, with a date, Kane was awesome in this though, if end this fued right, Kane destroys Shane, who should get little to no offense in this match....why is it a foregone conclusion that HHH wins this Sunday, I see it as setting up Goldberg to defy the odds by beating trips while hurt, setting up Goldberg vs kane at the Rumble, then Kane vs taker for a title at wrestlemania....Molly looked great again tonight, but they should just let Terri stay backstage....anyone else still waiting for Lita to stand up, her constantly bing made a bitch last night doesnt help, Evolution embarassed her, Bischoff degraded her, and she lost the match...the backstage segments were pretty good, and team Bischoff was gold, I can see it coming down to Jericho and Orton against Booker or RVD, with Jericho turning on team Bischoff, allowing for the Austin win...if Austin's team does lose, does anyone else see them bringing in Foley to be the good guy GM, I cant see them having another couple months of evil GM show..overall I thought last night wasnt too bad
Mr. Burns: You are of course familiar with our state usury laws? Homer:U-sur-y? Mr. Burns: Oh silly me, I must have just used a word that doesn't exist.
So, Kane goes from having to be shackled everywhere to freely being allowed to go to a restaurant to visit a McMahon? Doesn't the whole sitdown sort of weaken the 'Kane is a psychopath who destroys everything in his sight' vibe? But, it does make a McMahon seem tough, so of course it makes perfect sense. Of the Survivor Series preview matches, the only one without a pinfall is the one involving Mark Henry and Scott Steiner? Weird that those are the two guys protected. And, wouldn't it make a little more sense to have Batista on the Survivor Series card, as he's had a building problem with Austin recently, rather than Steiner or Henry? Scary thought with the 'I Still Remember' sign: Buff Bagwell. Could they possibly be that stupid again though?
Why Pro Wrestling proves the INS cannot keep terrorists out of the United States: If a felon like Nathan Jones is allowed into the United States with no special skills (unless being totally inept in the ring counts, but I think there are enough totally inept people in the US to keep that skill from being unique or special), then how the hell can they justify keeping anyone else out?
I did tape the show last night, but didn't see it until I went to bed. Uh, it was interesting. The first segment was good (I will not bark about the whole objectifying women thing like a certain recapper on the WrestlingObserver site), and HHH was very tight on the mic. I'm just glad he finally trimmed that shaggy fur of his. The best part was Randy Orton flinching at the security guys. He's so cute when he flinches, lol! I know the jury's still out as far as him becoming a main eventer, but in these last few months his body language has been his best asset, outside of his assets.
Uh, the rest I could do without. I wrapped up during Kane and Shane's date. I know it's a far better place than jumpers attatched to your balls, but in the context of the feud, what the hell kind of sense does this make?! Do you see Raven and Jim Mitchell talking over snapper fillets and asparagus in hollandaise sauce (Thank you Iron Chef!)? Of course not.
So, Raw was a so-so show, at least until I taped over it with a movie. Survivor Series? With all due respect, no. The holidays are coming up, and I always spend my money on things we can enjoy for more than 10 minutes.

Actually, the scariest sign I saw was the "Batista: Your Next!" sign. I mean, I'm a bad speller, but even I know the difference between "your" and the contraction "you're."

Evolution - Lita gets thrown out of the ring by Vince Neil. Hey! Maybe he'll do "Shout At The Devil" since he's here! Oi, nevermind. That's Hunter. At least I don't have to suffer through Lita on the stick. Aw, SCSA tosses 'em all out.
Team Bischoff & Team Austin - Smack talk.
RVD vs. Christian - Good match, dead crowd. Hrm. RVD retains.
Shane - Gets a table. No, an actual table. To eat at.
Y2Stinger & Cena - Er, okay.
Coach & Lillian - "STEP, girlfriend." Hee.
Renee Dupree & Rob Conway vs. Hurricane & Rosie - I know I was sewing during RAW last night, so I don't expect to have gotten every last detail. But -- I don't remember this match at all. Aye.
Team Bischoff - "That is one cocky cracka." "Belie' dat." Hee. And hee again.
Val & Random Females & Lance - Er?
Shane - See, I could have sworn Shane said "SHE will be here in a minute" when the waiter offered to take away the extra place setting. And so I expected Linda, My Beloved CEO (TM). And I got denied. Bitches.
Lita & Terri vs. Molly & Gail - I can't stand Lita in the ring. I'm sorry. I just can't -- I don't know if she's just a fucking ragdoll or what. Sloppiness, man. Terri's an announcer, please keep her that way. Also -- Lita and Gail, you both have very, very pretty hair. NOW GO BORROW SOME HAIR TIES FROM JAQUIE AND LEARN THE FINE ART OF THE BRAID. Thank you.
Randy Orton vs. HBK - Good match! Sweet Chin Music sounded killer.
Shane & Kane - He ain't Linda, but he'll do. Seriously, Kane is getting really good at promos. While I don't think the acting was soap-opera bad, they should have practiced it a bit more. I liked it.
Dudley Boyz vs. Scott Steiner & Mark Henry w. Teddy Long - Okay match. Does Mark shower RIGHT before coming out or is that actually sweat that flies off of him? Lawd. Also, Coachman's announcing has been hysterical. Belie' dat.
SCSA & Sleazy E - Yak, yak, yak. WCW mention! I popped.
Y2J & Trish - Hee. So cute. Hee. They have a date! I really hope this turns Y2J into a tweenie type guy -- really nice and sweet with his girlfriend, but a total prick in the ring. Could be a good storyline. Knock on wood.
JR & King - Yak, yak, SurSer, yak, yak. Cole and Tazz, yak, yak, SurSer.
Booker & John - "I still remember." Hrm. The obvious is my favorite drag queen, Goldust, but what about Stevie Ray? Maybe? If it IS Goldust, I hope they do this like the RVD angle...with the widescreen movies playing at the end of Booker's matches. What? I'm a sucker for drama, I'll admit it.
Booker T vs. Y2J - Nice match. It did look like Booker blew the last spot badly. Eee. That's unusual for Book. Beatdown and such ensues.
Kane & Shane Video - Linda! Linda! Other stuff.
Goldberg vs. Batista - Embarassing to admit but...I don't remember this match either. Aye.
Signs! "I'm taping Nitro." Hee. I wish. :[
Overall? A nice show! I enjoyed it. Poor effort by myself for trying to do mending whilst watching RAW. I should be buried like TWGTT for that stunt.

Actually, I think it was "Your Next Batista", which begs the question, "what happened to the first"? While Batista was out w/ his injuries, did they genetically engineer an exact clone?

It'd be nice if they could at least show that on "The Bottom Line" or something like that.
I should know better than to hope to change Vinnie Mac's mind, but ... is there any way that before Sunday the 'Net fans could flood the WWE with requests to show the Crash tribute match on Heat? I mean, surely they could edit it into the non-international version. It sounded like a miniature version of the Owen Hart tribute show, and while Owen did die on the job while Crash had left the company and died at home, it seemed appropriate ...
BTW, I kinda guessed that Steiner's armband was for Crash ... that, or he'd just injected some more steroids before the show.
The thing that gets me with Kane nowadays, is during his interview/beating with JR he let on that he still thinks he's all scarred up and that people will laugh at him, causing violent rages.
Yet now he walks into a Chinese resteraunt fine and dandy, and wrestles with a bare chest.
Was there an episode where he learned it was all in his head that I missed or something?

Even during that interview I believe JR touched on it. It's been mentioned a few times, but they haven't played up an angle where Kane realizes it's all in his head...because let's face it, once he does, he won't have much to be angry about anymore would he? Maybe someday they'll do an angle where he "sees the light" or something, and realizes nobody was laughing at him, it was all paranoia, etc. They seemed to be building that way when he initially unmasked, but they cut it off pretty much.

I fail to see how Shane sitting down for a fine meal makes him tough. I think they were shooting for the "Pacino shoots the shit with DeNiro" dynamic from Heat, but Shane is no Big Al-although I guess Kane probably has modern-day DeNiro beat.
They should totally rip off The Simpsons with the Trish/Jericho angle. Have Christian, Steiner and Test be all "Man, you never sneak-attack faces and cower before the might of Triple H now that you're with her" and Jericho can be all "Hey, I'm still wicked-bad!" and then can go throw rotten coleslaw at Steve Austin's house.
Murdoch Had Just Made A Mistake That No Man Ever Should-He Kissed A Big Angry Black Guy
They seem to be paying more attention to the women on RAW lately. Molly and Gail Kim have better characters now trying to end Trish's career then trying to derail Lita's comeback. Trish is involved in an actual angle for once and has some chemistry with Chris Jericho. It probably helps that they're friends and that Trish is really good friends with Jericho's WIFE.
I'm intrigued about the Survivor Series Match. It should be good, there's enough talent in there and some good mini-stories going on.
Randy Orton is starting to come into his own and getting into his character. He was doing the little things right like getting in the faces of the security guards AFTER HHH threatened to sue.
Hopefully this was the last RAW with Shane McMahon for a long ass time. Maybe then Kane can go back to being a monster instead of a depressed large man with no eyebrows.
Rob Conway and Rene Dupree are a good tag team. I LOOK FORWARD TO LA RESISTANCE! I never thought I'd say that. Hurricane/Rosey has lost all its steam and no one cares about Rosey. I'd have Shannon Moore come with Matt to RAW and recruit Helms to reform that tag team as The MF'ers.
The Award For Worst Buildup to a World Heavyweight Title Match goes to ... Triple H versus Goldberg! Seriously, HHH was on RAW *TWICE* and tonight was the only interaction between him and Goldberg. And HHH is leaving again. Why are we even having this match? Why bother? It makes no sense to do it now ... so HHH must be getting the belt back. Why not just continue the bounty angle until Triple H is ready to comeback full-time? If Goldberg retains he's got no opponents lined up for December.
Overall RAW was pretty bland this week, not exactly inspiring me to buy the PPV but they've got some storylines that are finally being given time to develop. Survivor Series looks like a last minute decision.
This RAW was all about the little things for me. As far as I am concerned, Y2J could do no wrong last night. He shown on the mic all night long, especially in his bit with Trish. I too am intrigued. There was lots of nice build-up for the PPV, especially in the 5-on-5. I laughed out loud at Orton bob, bob, bobbing at the security guards like one of my parakeets, and I even gave a little chuckle at Lance's new "I have a giant penis" gimmick- take that Mark Henry!
But what I really loved was Shane and Kane’s hot date. So what if the premise was ridiculous and the acting was terrible? The whole concept was so funny I couldn't stop watching. If there was ever once I was sure the feuding wrestlers were going to kiss, it was tonight! But then Kane dropped the biggest bomb of all- Shane had a wife...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yes, yes, I know he's been married. But as long as they weren't mentioning it on TV I could pretend it wasn't true. Even if the real Shane McMahon was attached, couldn't the Shane McMahon character be mine? Was that too much to ask for?
If Goldberg retains (yeah, I know, hahahahaha, but bear with me), then he's got one obvious opponent for December: Kane. I suppose in a pinch they could do Goldberg/Jericho, not that anyone would take that seriously, but ...
I'm actually kinda liking Kane as Hannibal Lecter, if only because Jacobs is clearly having fun with the role and it's marginally less nonsensical than pretending police departments all over the country are willing to pass Kane back and forth and let him go to wrestle. Besides, that gimmick has more potential for setting up interesting feuds than keeping him as a bald, bleached version of the Hulk does.
If Bagwell is Booker's mysterious correspondent, it will be the final, definite sign that Vince is desperate.

The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"
I think it's about time to "re-open" trade negotiations between RAW and Smackdown to help rejuvenate some superstars ... he's how I would flip-flop people ... To Smackdown, I would send RVD and Lance Storm ...
