As I said here (The W), I picked up a copy of the 2002RR DVD from highspots.com.

My question is for those who are familiar with that show: Was Stone Cold absolutley Blind Stinking drunk during that promo with Stef? I mean he almost looked drunk enough to write a workrate report!(Only almost mind you). But he looked fine in the rumble.

Overall views: the lead-up card was probably a little better than this years (granted no angle - benoit calibre match, but no Stiener snore-fest either)(I am shamed to admit that I 'pulled a Meltzer' and fell asleep on the couch when I watched that match.)

The rumble is not one of the better ones IMO.

A few obvious WWE overdubs, great Al Snow and reasonable Nature Boy interviews.

Well, as far as Austin's interview, he sure didn't more drunk than he usually is to me, lol. Steph actually looked HOT (I have to be honest) in that segment though. I agree, that the Rumble from 2002 as a whole wasn't as good as the classics (2000 and 2001 to be exact). I'm no fan of overdubs at all, so chances are that I'll stay away from that DVD.

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)I'm smarter than I was a year ago.
2)WWE isn't.
3) I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.

I can't for the life of me remember what Steph does on that show. I remember Jericho and the Rock having a great title match, I remember Maven eliminating the Undertaker, I remember Mr. Perfect coming back and I remember Flair/McMahon.

What does Steph do? Was she managing Jericho yet? It's killing me...I can't remember at all.

That was a good rumble, Rock/Y2J was great and that HHH/Austin/Hurricane bit was hilarious, also Maven eliminating Taker was a shocker. Also I loved that Angle promo on Heat, check it out. Yeah, that's when Steph looked hot, just before she became slutty. Anyway, she was in the middle of bickering with Trips and the wedding renewels were a couple of weeks later. 2001 rumble still great.

2002 was a letdown, especially after the awesomeness of the previous two. Too many dead spots, and I always dislike it when they rig the numbering so that almost ALL of the main eventers come in at the end. C'mon, let's at least *try* to have the appearance of anyone-can-win.

As for the matches....blah. Historically speaking, the Rumble undercard is either blah with one blow-away match (i.e. Angle/Benoit, HHH/Cactus, Hart/Diesel) or just altogether blah. Rock/Jericho was ok, but just lacking that certain something.

Best Rumble ever was clearly 1992, by leaps and bounds.

Agreed, the 1992 Rumble was second to none. How ironic is it then that it featured probably the worst undercard of all the Rumble cards?

Maybe that's why it was one of the best Rumbles. Then again, the booking and commentators (Gorilla y Heenan) didn't hurt either.

I don't see why they think they have to wear wigs. It's not like Taker hasn't changed his look over the years. With Kane, I think he would look really cool bald with the mask. Like Jason.
