Ah yes, forgot about the Dudleyz. They're using their old theme/Spike's current theme. And Stacy is also using what vaguely sounds like an intrumental version of her "Legs" by Kid Rock theme.

Granted that his actual theme isn't one that clings to the mind, but is it me, or did they replace Tajiri's theme, too?

Oh, and also: I had a thought as to the CAW problem. They give you the ability to clone your CAWs--so doesn't that mean that, should you create a wrestler and max him out (or get him to wherever you'd like to be stat-wise), you can clone him and then change his appearance, moves etc. while keeping his stats intact, rather than starting from the beginning?

Well, that just about made this game for me.....for some reason, I ended up seeing Kane do the Shawn Micheals pulley entrance at Wrestlemania

Yep that is what is recommended to do. Only problem is it will take about 3 seasons to max out a CAW, but after that, just copy and edit your way to huge roster valhalla.

I'd like to add my two cents here-- but since I'm scant on time, I'll save my season exploits for later...

HOWEVER- go to exhibition mode, pick Tajiri, go against anyone, and use buzzsaw kick after buzzsaw kick. Nothin' says luvin like slo motion juice from a noggin!!!

BTW, this game RAWKS!

I was talking to Pike about this (copying CAWS to get their higher stat points) last night, and he thought of something that gave me pause...

Will their Superstar points get copied as well? I mean, yeah, it'd be cool to have some of the CAWs I had in mind at the Heavyweight level (Bret Hart comes to mind) but it'd be kind of lame to have all the jobber/midcard talent hogging up the uppercard too. I like Tommy Dreamer and all, but come on. (:

Here's what I did/am doing. I went through season once with my CAW. When I got leveled out with all 6's in the attributes, I copied the CAW to another slot. I'm now going to go through Season again with that copied CAW, but will not "spend" any of the attribute points I make throughout the season. Then, when the season is done, the CAW will have all 6's and a number of attribute points that can be used how I see fit per CAW. Yeah, it's a lot of work for something that THQ overlooked, but it'll do.

I assume that means that you can't take away points later, only choose not to spend them in the first place? (so if I say make Bret, play him to nice high levels, and then copy him to make Shannon Moore, I'll have to have one amazingly strong MFer?)

Well if you're going to build up Bret Hart and you want to make someone with Shannon's stats then just stop before you get too high and copy SHannon, and then continue building up Bret.

I'm in love with this game.

In season, I'm currently John Cena. I moved him over to the face side of the world, and he's currently tagged with Edge(Thuganomic Edge is the name, Rap and Rock is their game). As current tag champs they're pretty much unbeatable. Then again I'm not too far into season.

I'm teaming Cena and Edge too! Cool!

Right now, I'm in a pseudo-feud with Chris Benoit. I beat him for the US title, retained it two weeks later, and beat him and Kurt Angle in a cage to retain the tag titles. We're using the DX entrance, and it is just funny. Can't wait to try it with Old School Undertaker and Ted DiBiase.

I'm not sure that the unspent points will be saved with the wrestler -- I thought that the unspent points would be saved wih Season Mode. I've been playing with Angle under that assumption -- since I don't need to spend any points on his stats, after one year of Season I'll have about 300 unspent points (I'm playing on easy -- if I was playing on normal, I'd have around 600, assuming the same won/lost record). I *think* that those points will sit in season for the next entrant, who will then be able to spend them in season mode. In other words, it won't be a case where you could have a bunch of cloned CAWs each saved with their own unspent points.

--K

EDIT: Oops, no, I'm wrong -- I just finished up a season with Angle, and the surplus points are there for him if I choose him again, but not for anyone else.

So maybe your plan will work. Hmmmm. I'll try that next, although I find season mode with CAWs pretty frustrating (because I'm not very good) and I was hoping to find a way around that.

Actually, I had a season mode with a CAW that went pretty well; I had poured as many points as I could into strength and the few remaining points into endurance. That allowed me to do a lot of damage and build up specials very quickly during matches. Thing is, I don't want to use that CAW as a basis for other CAWs because I don't want them all to be as strong as he is (9.5).

With my more balanced CAW, I find myself in matches with guys having twice the stats that I do, and I end up feeling more like a spectator than a participant (mostly because I suck at reversals, and once they get on a roll, it's hard to get them off of it).

Playing as RVD, I poured a bunch of points into technique and strength, and that's worked pretty well. I'm pretty good at reversals and can inflict decent damage. Managed to pin HHH and the Rock, both in straight wrestling matches, where I didn't have to resort to using a chair.

Is it me, or is the CAW far worse than in 'Shut Your Mouth'? Sorry... I haven't read *everything* in this thread, so the point may have been raised already. It's just, I don't know, I was able to build up near-perfect likenesses in the last one, and I'm struggling in 'Here Comes The Pain'.

Anyone know of any CAW sites set up yet? It may be too early, I dunno....

I haven't had a chance to really tinker with it, but on first glance, it seems worse. I was able to create pretty good likenesses of all my friends, and a trial run with the new version didn't yield very good results.

The only CAW I've tried to make that I've had trouble with is Bret Hart. No Hitman tights or tank top (that I'm able to find anyway) this time around, where as last time his entire outfit and even his face was in the game. I have made Hulk Hogan and Spike Dudley, but Spike is a "Sample" character and Hogan's face is in the game already.

With SD4, beating 100 guys in Slobberknocker unlocked the Divas video, so I wanted to see if something was unlocked in this game doing the same thing.

First try, 98 pinfalls. I wanted to kill myself. The few times I've tried since have been 68, 31, and 81. I retire from trying. Someone fill me in if you get anything out of Slobberknocker mode, because I'm done. :)

I'm halfway through season 1 playing with Benoit, who conveniently started the game (after trying the game out for a day or two earlier) with the US and Tag Team titles (with Angle).

Soon, he won the world title from I think Austin, giving him three titles.

Currently, I just started my Faction with Tajiri, Ultimo and Stacy Keibler.

(Yes, I reshuffled the rosters and the face/heel dynamics. I have all teh good workers on my show and the big stiffs on RAW, as it should be.)

I'm eagerly awaiting the opporunity to create some crazy Luchadors.

Eh, if you tinker around enough with the CAW system, you should still be able to make near-perfect versions of anybody...it does take a little more creativity though...and as for sites, I've had a hard time finding them, but I've been checking out www.cheatsforplaystation2.com/hctp/cawindex.htm - sorry, I suck at the linkifying thing.
