Even though we will have ZERO trick or treaters at my house again this year - we live in the sticks - my wife has a full bowl of Reese's Miniatures, Milky Way Miniatures and KitKats sitting by the front door. When I first got out of college it was Reese's for the kids and a cold can of beer for the parents.

Miniature Butterfingers, Baby Ruth & Almond Joy. Couple of bags of Hershey's (tiny) miniatures for filler as well. ("Mmmmmm, Butterfingers." There'd *better* be leftovers!)
I usually get few trick or treaters, but I will have mini butterfingers, kit kats, 3 musketeers, and snickers waiting, just in case.

I'm taking my sisters trick-or-treating, but my mom has the mini bags of Cheetos. I hope our house gets lots of trick-or-treaters, because Cheetos are nasty...
We're expecting a bunch of trick-or-treaters so we've got the works...Milky Ways, Twix, 3 Musketeers, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Snickers, Nestle Crunches, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, 100 Grands, Hershey bars, and more. Costco had some KILLER bags with varieties of the good stuff.
Note: While we were buying the candy we discussed how uncool it would be to be the house giving out Mounds and Almond Joys...bah on coconut. emma --> BOO!

I don't give out candy.
I give out comics. WB toons (Supes, Bats, JLA, Looney tunes, P&TB, Animaniacs), archies, Duck books, etc.
Your house would be SO egged.
Probably, but...
He's most likely the only guy in his area that's giving shit out that might be worth something someday. (:
Oh, and I don't give out candy either, mostly because I'm usually at work (this year is an exception). Of course, I don't have to worry about it since our complex either does the lame "drag your kids to the rec center for CANDY MADNESS" bit or gives out special "you can trick or treat here" pumpkin cutouts for the door. (:

Cheetos? Nasty? Curse you!
I put out Tootsie Rolls and their Pops, but nobody came. Not surprising, seeing as how I live in the back of an apartment building with no outside light. Yay, candy for a month!

Ha! More for MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Although, I've gotta tell ya... My methodology is "You can have any 3 from the basket". Some of the kids just grab, but most actually peruse & select. And I'm not the only coconut fan on the block!

I LOVE Mounds and Almond Joy. I was disappointed to see that my sisters didn't get any from trick-or-treating...since I steal a little candy from them...

Two years back, through a friend of a friend of a friend, I got my hands on a case full of sample-sized Fisherman's Friend. I gave those out to anybody who was not in a costume who wanted something. No such luck last year, but I was able to get a nice collection this year, and have enough left over.
Always a good choice for gag handouts, since it looks like candy when it is dark.
As for the regular trick/treaters, they got O Henrys and Sweet tarts.
Oh thank God - people who get Trick-or-Treaters on the 31st. I thought I was going crazy around here. Apparently the big thing in most parts of Central PA is to have Halloween before the 31st. I had to have candy ready for the 29th, from 6-8PM only, for our complex. We had those little cutout pumpkins for our doors, too. It was weird - I'm sure it had something to do with this being a football weekend and Halloween fell on a Friday, but they did the same last year when Halloween fell on a Thursday. There is something really disturbing about handing out candy (Nerds, Smarties, Jawbreakers, Snickers, Twix, Reese's Cups, M&Ms, Kit Kat's, and Tangy Taffy) on October 29th.

PSU 2-6 (0-4 Big Ten). Nothing says "ricockulous" like one INT return outgaining our entire offense in the first half. Super job there, guys.
Let's see...Snickers, Milky Way, York Peppermint Patties, Hershey's Kisses, and the ultimate Halloween candy: SWEET TARTS, baby!
Of course, I scared the crap outta several little kids last night. Bad enough I had the spooky music playing next to the door...but I answered the door in my Strong Bad mask, "PRO WRESTLING IS REAL; PEOPLE ARE FAKE" T-shirt...and carrying a lit candleabra.
Almost made the battery-powered monster hand in the candy bowl kinda unnecessary. :-)
(EDIT: Post #666...on a Halloween topic...mentioning Strong Bad...*steeples hands a'la Monty Burns*...excellent.

Best bowl of candy I saw on Halloween was the house that had the bowl in the middle of a dead guy's stomach - a little disturbing but very creative - I'm just glad I don't live in their neighborhood....
