I will also congratulate the Marlins. They played great, and totally deserve this win. They absolutely were the better team.

Once again, I don't understand where people get the idea that this team won't stay together.

Gotta agree, Pudge, Castillo, and maybe Conine are probably going to leave, but I think the core of the team is under the Marlins control for the next couple of years (arbitration, etc.)

Actually, Conine will be here next year. They added more years onto his contract in the trade from Baltimore. The three impact players I think are most likely to go are Urbina (who filed for free agency today), Lee and Castillo. Of course, bit players like Hollandsworth will go too.

Ugie filed already? God, at least let your World Champions hat lose its new hat smell first!

Josh Beckett is God. If you don't believe me, ask the Yankees (or what's left of them after Georgie Porgie goes nuts).

I write for CSSA. You probably don't.

It pains me to acknowledge the Florida Marlins as the best National League team of the last 10 years. I mean, look at the NL World Series Champs since 1990: Atlanta, Florida, and Arizona. Hello, ANYONE up north still playing meaningful baseball in the senior circuit?

I don't know what's worse. You've got this:

Then, on top of the fact that it is a) identifical except for a few colors or b) still easy enough to find on MLB's server, is this:

Lazy people....

A Republican and a Democrat are walking down the street when they come across a homeless man. The Republican gives the man his business card, and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless man.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless man, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless man and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and gave him $50.

I could tell you, but after checking, they don't have one for the Red Sox. (dejectedly snaps fingers)

Half the team can either be free agents or are arbitration-eligible. They could potentially have an excess of starters. Are they going to reward Beckett etc. or wait and see? Is it gonna be back and forth like the hampton deal then out of the blue Pudge signs?

Not to mention staying intact doesn't always work either.

McKeon will return so that's a good sign.

Sorry, my mistake. I must have been thinking of last week's column, "The Master Speaks". I still get the whole vibe of "Hey, look how awesome my picks are", rather than "Hey, here's some helpful hints for you guys.
