Anybody else find it interesting/confusing that here we are less than 3 weeks away from WrestleMania, which is supposed to be the catalyst for the company split, and there seem to be absolutely no storyline progressions to get us to the split? I mean, leading up to the Royal Rumble and the Vince/Flair match, it could've been said "they can't co-exist, especially after their match" and then split. But what for after WM? I mean, Vince hasn't even been on WWF TV since the nWo arrived. How are they going to work in the split here? I can't see any logical way for them to do it right after WM. You'd think something as major as a company split would need at least a few weeks of build up before it happened.
I hate to call it fantasy booking, since it's not what I'D have done given reign, but here's something that might happen:
Undertaker has been trying to force Flair into a match. Beating the holy crap out of Arn may not have been the last straw. Remember, Vince and 'Taker have been tight lately.
All that needs to happen is a reinterpretation of the legal definition of ownership. Vince says that since he owns half of everything, he's going to collect on it. He wants half the TV (Raw) and half the wrestlers. A draft will have to occur soon (right after Mania). Who get's first pick? "Well, Flair, we both know a coin toss isn't the way two men such as ourselves handle matters of this importance... If you have the intestinal fortitude, Flair, you'll earn your right to first pick at Wrestlemania IN THIS VERY RING."
Flair responds that he'll put it on the line in the way that only he can.
"I'm glad you're excited about this opportunity Flair. Oh, one more thing: your opponent... is the... UNDERTAKER."
Undertaker wins the match.
Vince has also been tight with Angle...
He inserts Angle into the Main event, making it a 3-way. This has been discussed by others: First fall in the match is for the World (WCW) Title, second for the WWF Title. Angle wins the first fall, HHH the second. Jericho retains heat, as he's still the only unified champion ever.
When the draft comes, Vince picks Angle first. Undertaker gets no respect. He'll be Vince's second pick, and be inserted immediately into a fued with Angle. (HHH, as the champion, is Flair's first pick).
Rock all the way down on the list as the 4th pick? If it plays out this way: yep.
Well, according to the "online sheets" as well as wwf.com, there are double house shows scheduled starting with the second Monday night after WrestleMania (March 25th). So either they're going to split at WrestleMania or the Monday immediately following WrestleMania. I guess something could go down at WrestleMania that they'll address that Monday and the split will happen between Raw and Smackdown, but that just seems like way too little time to build up and execute such a huge storyline.
I think they have a plan for this. I have no clue what it is, but since the split is so close, I'm positive they know what they are going to do. Just have to wait and find out i guess.
Updating Ohio State's basketball record could get to be a chore. Just remember, Michigan sucks.
I wouldn't go with the "pick" idea. Maybe for the first two or three in order to set up an angle, but not any more. I'd just go with a "lottery" system. I just don't think it's such a good idea to go down the entire roster and essentially rank each wrestler's importance. There's just no good way to do that without making people mad.
HAHA! Maybe they can have a whole bunch of lottery balls with Wrestlers names in them. I would PAY to watch two hours of them drawing names.

Coach: Thanks Michael! Here's McMahon's pick...OOH! It's Funaki! Too bad Vince!

there's a wwf site out there for the split but i forget the url. the splash page has vince on one side and flair on the other with the wwf logo in between. the logo rumbles and breaks in half, with vince's side turning red and flair's side turning bluish purple.
the split's gonna happen. i like the idea of undertaker - flair being for first pick or somesuch. it fits with vince's character perfectly, especially since flair beat him.
It's just you against the group mind. I like weiners.

An alternative idea who be a draft like atmosphere, but the catch is that Vince and Ric each draft THE OTHER'S wrestlers, each trying to screw the other over to end up with the main-eventers in the end, but they both end up with a similar talent roster.

Does it necessarily have to be part of a storyline? I guess it probably does, but I'd be all for them just starting it up without having an drawn-out explanation for it. But maybe that's just because I'm so tired of what's going on now that I'd really just like to see them get to it.

Since it hasnt actually been said that the split will happen the day after Wrestlemania, Im assuming the split storyline will be an after affect of Wrestlemania. They should address it soon because people that have Raw and Smackdown coming to thier area will want to choose what crew they would rather watch.
Lyrically Im supposed to represent, Im not only a client Im the player-president.....
Well a draft or lottery was going to be the finale of the Invasion. That is if it went perfect and they didn't screw it up. Ha!
http://www.wwfwcwdraft.com leads back to the WWF site.
Some site http://www.wwflottery.com is under construction, but I believe it has nothing to do with the World Wrestling Federation (meaning it's owned by somebody other than Vince.)

That was the funniest thing I have read all week!
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
I don't want the split to happen for one simple reason:
I don't get Smackdown.
For whatever reason, we just don't have a UPN station in my neck of the woods, or at least not one I can find anywhere on my cable dial. So, if the split happens, I could be robbed of the chance to see a lot of my favorite guys outside of their appearances on recap shows and/or PPV. Plus, I'm not exactly rolling in the dough and have a hard time enough affording -1- PPV a month, much less two.
And isn't the two PPV a month idea stupid anyway? With ratings and everything down, doesn't the law of supply and demand indicate you should be -decreasing- your product output rather than increasing an already glutted market? Just wondering...

Yes, it has to be part of a storyline. Everything that takes place in the ring should have a storyline leading up to it. It's a frikkin soap opera, after all.
And there's a *lot* of interesting things they could do with this draft. What if some wrestler is mysteriously picked early, or later than expected?
