So, are we really supposed to believe that they plan on pushing them if they let Jerry Lynn go? I believed in JR up until Sunday. And is TAKA being let go? I remember hearing that they were gonna let his contract run out while he was in Japan, but never heard it mentioned again.

You... did... what? You actually believed JR's bullshit about wanting to have a strong cruiserweight division? He's been saying that forever. I even watched Invasion earlier today, and he mentioned it during the X-Pac/Kidman match. (Or maybe it was the SummerSlam match between X-Pac and Tajiri).

JR's the VP-- if he wanted it badly enough, it would happen.

Anyhoo. I still have faith that it'll happen after the split. I gotta have faith in it after all, 'cuz I want to see it.

Tell you the truth, I wasn't even aware the WWF had actually let Eddie Guerrero go until he appeared at WWA Revolution. I'd been under the misconception that Eddie was simply suspended and in drug rehab.

Jerry Lynn, Taka, Essa Rios-- bad move by the WWF if indeed they end up letting all three go. (Lynn and Rios are, of course, already gone). But I think the WWF can put together a good cruiserweight division with some of the guys they already have.

From what I can remember, here's the current WWF cruiserweight roster, including some developmentals:

Billy Kidman
X-Pac
Tajiri
The Hurricane
Shannon Moore (likely to be called up)
Jaime Knoble (call-up)
Jeff Hardy
Matt Hardy
Spike Dudley
Funaki
Lance Storm (used primarily in heavyweight division)
Scotty 2 Hotty
Mike Sanders (maybe a call-up?)
Chris Benoit (heavyweight-division competitor)
Chris Jericho (heavyweight-division competitor)

So, even in the likely event that Benoit, Jericho and Storm won't be used in the division, there's still the makings of an excellent cruiserweight division there. Even assuming that the WWF doesn't blatantly steal yet another WWA wrestler or three.

I don't know about the Hardyz competing in the division. If they did, why not Christian as well? And is Kaz Hayashi still in OVW? Or did he leave? I can't remember.

Kaz asked for and got his release a couple months ago, according to JR, so he could return to Japan to be closer to his family. I hated to read that he was gone, but I can't fault his (stated) reasons.

They also released a bunch of the developmental guys/ex-WCW cruisers that woud have filled out the roster nicely, such as Elix Skipper. I think Jason "EZ Money" Broyles is still in HWA, too. Am I correct?

Skipper's gone, yeah. And I believe EZ Money is still in the HWA, so, yup.

Kaz is back in Japan. Hmm... I'd mark out like a 5-year-old boy watching Hulk Hogan in the '80s if the WWF managed to get Jushin Liger in to work a few shows.

I have to wonder if Liger will ever work in the States again after what happened the last time he was here. No one should be made to job to a bottle of tequila. No one. Fricking Russo.

Do You remember when they tried to restart the original LH division with a tourney? This is who they had.

Brian Christopher
Taka
Scott Taylor (Scotty 2 Hotty)
Flash (who?) Flanigan

Does anyone else remember the other 4 who made up the tourney? I thought it was eight men?

Thanks

Now compare that 8 to what they have strictly in their developmental league, and see how much potential is being wasted, and this doesn't include what additional talent they could have if they sign Mysterio.

Let's hope the split comes soon. As least we can see some crusierweights back on.

The only Cruiserweight action we'll be seeing in the WWF is them getting squashed.

Well, anyway, my original though, oh, 9 months ago, was to restart wCw as World Crusierweight Wrestling, and give them the ring time on Saturday night and Heat, and let the WWF continue to be heavyweights and bad acting. But, no, that would have made sense: to capitalize on what was generally percieved as the one good thing about wCw. They could have had *gasp* storylines and personalities, and, arguably, better ratings then Xcess and Heat are getting now. Oh, but we'll just split the company when inVasion fails cos we couldn't book shit if it came out our ass. Anyway, I'm feeling bitter today in general.

Insert clever comment.

is the tournament you're talking about the one with Tajiri and TAKA in it? I don't know anyone else. Gillbert, maybe.
