So, does anyone know some cool bars in the downtown Toronto area? I'll be staying at the Mariott Bloor Yorkville, which I believe is a couple of miles away from the 'Dome. I'll be there the entire WM weekend. I'm open to pretty much anything, but my preferences are: Bars over clubs, a college-aged crowd, and a jukebox with lots of rock on it. Any suggestions?

I recommend "C'est What?" on Front Street - great beer - I recommend the Raspberry Wheat (it may sound lame, but it is really, REALLY good), great atmosphere - no jukebox but plenty of high-quality live bands on a constant basis.

Check out http://www.toronto.com/section/bars_nightlife for a more detailed list of bars in the area.

The Sports Front on Front St. (close to the Dome) is a great sports bar, or the Sports Cafe at the corner of Yonge and St. Clair.

We used to live at a bar called the Devil's Martini...it's a block down from Whiskey Saigon, closer to Yonge St. Crowd is late 20's, and the dance floor is always packed. I couldn't find it on that toronto.com site, so I'm not sure if it's still open.

There's a campus bar at U of T that you'd probably enjoy; it's called the Brunswick House.

If you like places where ladies take their clothes off for money, and who doesn't, the Brass Rail on Yonge St. is the place.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

But the one guy said that if they had known, they would have kept the money. That makes them somewhat kind, but also makes them A-holes. DISCLAIMER:
